Story
Khloe is looking for a special home. She is around 10 years old and weighs 21 pounds. We welcomed sweet Khloe to the VPR family last August after she was surrendered to our care. We don’t know her entire history, but she has been in at least three different homes over the past 5-6 years. Khloe is friendly with other dogs and overall a happy girl, but she has a lot of anxieties and quirks. If she feels cornered, she may snap to ask for space, and she reacts strongly to any type of restraint. Sadly, this has made vet visits and grooming very challenging for her previous owners. Recently, we brought Khloe to our vet for a sedated groom, nail trim, and bloodwork, and they were able to place a harness and collar on her. Thankfully, this has helped us take her on walks, which she loves! Over the last several months, we've watched Khloe make a lot of progress and grow to trust us. With a few of our volunteers, she's displayed true affection and trust, which has been beautiful to see. She'll lie on her back for belly rubs and race to the door to go for a walk. We are hopeful that in a calmer setting, Khloe will only grow more comfortable. Due to her unpredictability, we recommend a low-traffic home without kids. Her future adopter will have to understand that she'll need plenty of time to decompress and be allowed to progress at her own pace. Medically, Khloe's bloodwork and dental health are in good shape, and she is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. We’re looking for a special adopter, willing to meet Khloe where she is. If you're interested in adopting Khloe, please submit an application at: https://www.vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Nala is the kind of little dog people dream about finding. This beautiful, petite purebred Cocker Spaniel is 4 years old and weighs only about 15 pounds, making her a truly tiny and delicate girl. She was discovered wandering alone in a rural county of Tennessee until a kindhearted Good Samaritan stepped in and contacted rescue so she could finally have a chance at the safe and loving life she deserved.   Now Nala is ready to leave the uncertainty of her past behind and begin the wonderful life that should have always been hers.   When we say Nala is a dream girl, we truly mean it. She has the gentlest soul and the sweetest presence. She is the kind of dog who quietly fills a room with warmth just by being there. Nala loves to be close to her people, sharing soft cuddles, calm companionship, and those soulful Cocker Spaniel eyes that seem to understand everything.   Not long after being rescued, Nala went through treatment for irritable bowel issues that were most likely brought on by the stress of whatever life she lived before she was found. Stress can affect animals deeply, but with proper care and love she has recovered beautifully. Her foster family is committed to making sure her life from now on is peaceful, predictable, and full of kindness. And truly, Nala deserves nothing less. This precious blonde angel gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets. She is great with people, gentle with other animals, and has the lovely manners that make her such an easy companion to have in the home. She is housebroken, well behaved, and simply a joy to live with.   Her foster mom absolutely adores her and says that Nala is one of the best dogs she has ever had in her home. That is high praise for a dog who seems to bring calm, sweetness, and quiet happiness wherever she goes.   No dog is perfect, but Nala comes awfully close. She is the kind of companion who will make your heart feel fuller every single day. If you have been hoping for a sweet, gentle Cocker Spaniel to share your life with, Nala may be the girl who was meant for you.   Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting this precious little dream girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 24, 2026, 10:09 pm

Story
Age:   approx. 5 years  old   Weight: 40  lbs My adoption fee is $299   which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Penny was adopted as a puppy but as her family grew, Penny wasn't adapting to the new family members as hoped.  So in her new home, there should be no kids.  She would be fine as an only dog.  She walks fantastic on a leash and is food motivated.  Penny is calm, well trained and quiet.  She's not needy or clingy.  She needs slow intro to new people.  She would love to have a home of her own.     If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/March 25, 2026, 11:55 am

.DOB 12-28-2024 Fuzzy, happy and sweet. This gorgeous little girl is ready for her home and family. Up to date on shots and all medical. Colette is social, loves to play and gets along with everyone. Colette will be around 25 pounds as an adult, she is spayed, heartworm negative and is on ProHeart6 heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is 750.00, transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
*Fostered in Southern MA* This cutie is Uno! He is almost 4 months old and weighs approximately 14 pounds. We think he may be a Maltipoo/Chihuahua mix*, but with rescue it’s always a guess! What matters most is that he is absolutely adorable and comes from one of the most urgent areas in the country for puppies. Shelters in Houston, Texas are unfortunately having to euthanize puppies due to lack of space, which means Uno is truly blessed. When you adopt him, you're not only saving this puppy’s life, you're also opening space for the rescue to save another animal in need. Watch Uno’s playful personality here: https://youtu.be/Y-POvGrHZTo?si=MFDniU0UZq2NBl8R Uno is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. Like most puppies, his days are filled with eat, sleep, play, repeat! He loves playing with other dogs and is currently being fostered in a home with canine friends. Uno also adores people and is very loving and affectionate with kids and adults of all ages. He is making great progress with potty training and is learning to ask to go outside. Because of his young age, he still does best with a consistent potty schedule. He has no accidents in his crate or pen during the day and sleeps through the night with one potty break. Uno is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization, and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Puppies are constantly learning about the world around them, and establishing routine, structure, boundaries, and proper socialization early will help them grow into confident adult dogs. We require adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving home. Crate training helps with potty training, energy management, and raising a well-rounded dog. In return for all your efforts, you’ll be rewarded with endless love, puppy kisses, and a loyal best friend. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
