Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact VPa for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Marty is a 3-4 year old male Party Cocker Spaniel who weighs in at 20 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $500.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Marty is a very sweet boy; he’s super shy, but he is finding his trust in people more each day. He is looking for a patient, loving home.  Marty has made huge strides in the short time since coming to ARF. He is starting to show his silly quirky personality. When his foster mom calls him he will show his face briefly and then quickly return to his newly found comfort…his bed. It seems Marty has not experienced the basic necessities until now. He so wants to enjoy all the wonderful amenities of his foster home – if only he can be brave enough to try all the new things! Marty is working on his potty training outside. He is pad trained. Marty will require a fenced yard so he can explore outside off leash. He will also need another dog in the home. Every day he is learning how to be a brave pooch by watching his foster sibling. If you are willing to give him a few weeks of peace he will give you years of dedication. His eyes are soulful and his heart is learning to trust. You can turn that sad face into a happy ending for this deserving boy! Marty is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and will be neutered as of June 3rd.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! We are  based in Wheaton, IL and conduct adoption events in the DuPage County area. If you are interested in adopting one of our pets, please submit an adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Adoption appointments are scheduled based on the order of applications received, so submit your application early! Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process. Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions or schedule meetings until your application has been approved. More information about our adoption process can be found on our website here: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ As an all-volunteer, foster home-based organization, A.R.F. Animal Rescue Foundation does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. Please visit https://www.arf-il.org/events/ for a list of our upcoming adoption events.  Thank you for choosing to adopt, not shop! June 9, 2026, 11:03 pm

Story
Henry is a sweet 6 month old cavalier puppy looking for an experienced patient family that speaks 'dog'. Henry is a breeder release from a commercial facility. He hasn't had the benefit a dog his age might have who was born in a home. That being said, while he is scared and timid, once he feels safe he will long to bond with a family. He will likely always be timid. He needs family who will help him slowly decompress and adjust in his own time. Henry is a friendly gentle fella who is scared of his own shadow right now, He needs to be bouse trained. He must have s a fenced in yard for his potty place. He doesn't understand leash walking and is far too skittish to try. Cavaliers tend to be Velcro dogs. They want to be close to a human, He wants to be cared for, He needs to relax enough to begin to trust humans without fear, He needs a patient adopter without expectations she will change but will give him the time to allow him to if he chooses, Henry will do best in a home with another respectful and confident dog he can imitate and learn from. Like all dogs, he will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all dogs, not only to give Henry important learning skills, but because you and your dog will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Henry is fully vetted. He has been neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of his adopter. His adoption fee is $1200..00. he is on the hunt for his own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Sally wants to be sure his family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Henry, please fill out an application for his adoption on our website at: https://www.rescuetailsanimalwelfare.org/info/adoption. The first step in the process is to complete an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. We are an in home foster volunteer group.
