Story
Meet Autumn! Autumn is a gentle, soulful 8-year-old Cocker Spaniel weighing 20 pounds, who is experiencing the world for the very first time. After spending most of her life in a puppy mill having litter after litter, she is finally getting the chance to learn what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. She is a quiet, tender girl who does wonderful with other dogs of all sizes. Early on she found a lot of comfort in following their lead as she adjusted to life in a home. As she has settled into foster care, she’s starting to gain more independence and confidence of her own, which has been wonderful to watch. Autumn may be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up quickly. Once she feels comfortable, her sweet and affectionate personality really shines. She’ll happily wander over, flop onto her back, and ask for belly rubs, soaking up attention from her people. Because so much of the world is still fairly new to her, Autumn would do best in a calm, patient home with a physically fenced yard. She feels much safer going potty off leash and is more successful when she can explore the yard at her own pace. Everyday things like household sounds, routines, affection, and freedom are still experiences she’s learning about, and she takes them in gently and thoughtfully. What makes Autumn so special is the quiet courage she shows every day. Despite everything she’s been through, she continues to learn, grow, and discover that life can be safe and kind. Autumn was recently returned to rescue after having some potty accidents in her previous home. After a veterinary visit, it was discovered that she needs to be on prescription C/D food to help prevent urinary crystals from forming. Because of this, her potty training is still a bit of a work in progress while she settles into the proper diet and routine. With patience, consistency, and understanding, we’re confident she will continue making great progress. Autumn is looking for a calm, loving home where she can continue to decompress, build confidence, and blossom at her own pace. Her foster mom is committed to helping her find the stable, caring home she truly deserves. If you believe in second chances and the quiet magic of watching a dog bloom, Autumn just might steal your heart. 🐾 Autumn is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chi Chi! Chi Chi is a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel who truly lives up to the title of “perfect companion.” If you’re looking for a sweet, social, family-friendly dog, she checks all the boxes. She’s never met a stranger and absolutely adores kids, cats, and some other dogs. Whether it’s a walk around the neighborhood or a car ride adventure, Chi Chi is always ready to be right by your side. This affectionate girl’s favorite place is wherever you are. She loves going for walks just as much as she enjoys curling up on the couch for some quality cuddle time. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, Chi Chi is happy to fill that role—she loves being close and involved in everything you do. Chi Chi does have a big personality to match her big heart. She can be a little dominant with other animals, so meet-and-greets with any current pets will be important to make sure everyone gets along. She’s also very attention-driven—she’ll happily jump up to say hello, paw at you when she wants love, and tends to stay right underfoot, so she’ll do best with a family that’s mindful of her enthusiasm and can help guide her with consistent boundaries. She’ll also need a home that’s careful with doors, as she may try to dart out if given the chance. If you’re looking for a loving, people-oriented dog who will be your constant companion and bring so much joy (and personality!) into your home, Chi Chi might be your perfect match. Story
Chestnut is a 12+ year old male cocker spaniel whose life story could have made him bitter… but instead, it made him even sweeter.   This gentle senior was once someone’s devoted companion, the kind of dog who quietly follows you from room to room just to be near. Tragically, he was found abandoned on a busy road with a painful, eye injury, and struck by a car. Despite everything he has endured, Chestnut greets the world with softness, trust, and a tail that still wants to wag.   His damaged eye has been removed, and he’s recovering beautifully after hip surgery. When he was found, his coat was painfully matted to the skin and he had to be shaved down. The good news? His soft, beautiful fur will grow back, and each day he grows stronger and more comfortable.   What hasn’t changed is his spirit.   Chestnut is calm, affectionate, and very gentle. He loves cozy dog beds, soft voices, and simply being near his humans. He’s past the hustle and bustle of youth and is ready for the quiet joys of senior life: sunny naps, slow strolls, and resting his head on a loving lap. He doesn’t ask for much - just safety, patience, and a loving home where he can finally exhale.   Chestnut is good with other quiet dogs that allow him space as he prefers to keep to himself. He is good with cats. Due to his age and injury a home without young children is preferred. Chestnut is crate/pen trained and keeps it clean. When his beautiful coat grows in he will require regular professional grooming to keep him free of matting and his paws from slipping on the floor.    If you are ready to give a deserving old soul the comfort he’s always given to others, Chestnut is waiting to glow quietly beside you for the rest of his golden years. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   March 7, 2026, 9:24 am
