Story
.DOB 12-28-2024 Fuzzy, happy and sweet. This gorgeous little girl is ready for her home and family. Up to date on shots and all medical. Colette is social, loves to play and gets along with everyone. Colette will be around 25 pounds as an adult, she is spayed, heartworm negative and is on ProHeart6 heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is 750.00, transport fee is 165.00 The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Age:   approx. 5 years  old   Weight: 40  lbs My adoption fee is $199   which includes transportation charges to the Northeast. Penny was adopted as a puppy but as her family grew, Penny wasn't adapting to the new family members as hoped.  So in her new home, there should be no kids.  She would be fine as an only dog.  She walks fantastic on a leash and is food motivated. Penny forms deep bonds with her people and would do best in a calm home.  She is not a social butterfly.  With a proper introduction she can meet new people successfully. She thrives with owners who respect her space and enjoys a loyal close companion.  If you serious about adopting, the first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website:   https://www.smalldogrescuene.org/August 7, 2026, 4:43 pm

Story
Khloe is looking for a special home. She is around 10 years old and weighs 21 pounds. We welcomed sweet Khloe to the VPR family last August after she was surrendered to our care. We don’t know her entire history, but she has been in at least three different homes over the past 5-6 years. Khloe is friendly with other dogs and overall a happy girl, but she has a lot of anxieties and quirks. If she feels cornered, she may snap to ask for space, and she reacts strongly to any type of restraint. Sadly, this has made vet visits and grooming very challenging for her previous owners. Recently, we brought Khloe to our vet for a sedated groom, nail trim, and bloodwork, and they were able to place a harness and collar on her. Thankfully, this has helped us take her on walks, which she loves! Over the last several months, we've watched Khloe make a lot of progress and grow to trust us. With a few of our volunteers, she's displayed true affection and trust, which has been beautiful to see. She'll lie on her back for belly rubs and race to the door to go for a walk. We are hopeful that in a calmer setting, Khloe will only grow more comfortable. Due to her unpredictability, we recommend a low-traffic home without kids. Her future adopter will have to understand that she'll need plenty of time to decompress and be allowed to progress at her own pace. Medically, Khloe's bloodwork and dental health are in good shape, and she is spayed and up-to-date on vaccinations. We’re looking for a special adopter, willing to meet Khloe where she is. If you're interested in adopting Khloe, please submit an application at: https://www.vintagepetrescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet Hannibal: The World's Least Threatening Serial Killer Namesake Warning: This dog's name is DEEPLY misleading. Hannibal is NOT a cannibalistic psycho or a threat to anyone's liver, though maybe a glass of Chianti would do. This is why we call him "Hanni" at home. What You're Getting with Hanni Bannani: A tail that wags so much we've considered harnessing it as a renewable energy source The happiest, gentle boy who thinks every human is his best friend (despite his sinister namesake) Zero chaos energy-this is a zen master in spaniel form. He'll play with his stuffies, go for walks and chase a ball, but also happily lounge around the house with you Already housetrained AND crate trained and sleeps through the night, meaning he's doing your job for you A dog whose only appetite is for affection, belly rubs and chin scratches Perfect For: Literally everyone. Families with kids? Check. Empty nesters looking for someone who is always happy to see them? Double check. Other dogs? He'll befriend them immediately or give them the space they want, he can read the room. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2801312##

Story
Meet Love, a 4½-year-old large Spaniel mix with a gentle soul who`s looking for someone willing to let her bloom at her own pace. New people can be a little intimidating for Love, and she may be shy when you first meet her, but with a little patience and kindness, she warms up surprisingly quickly and lets her sweet personality shine.Love truly enjoys the company of other calm, friendly dogs and would likely thrive with a respectful canine companion who can help boost her confidence. She`s happiest around easygoing friends and would love a home that matches her relaxed personality. Because she can be sensitive to new situations, Love is looking for an adult-only home where she can settle in without the hustle and bustle of young children. With slow, proper introductions, she may also do well with a dog-savvy cat.Like many Spaniels, Love arrived at the shelter with a double ear infection. While this may have simply been a one-time issue, her breed and those thick, floppy ears make her more prone to developing ear infections throughout her life. Her new family should be comfortable monitoring her ears, keeping them clean and dry, and working with their veterinarian if ear issues arise in the future. If you`re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little time to trust, Love is ready to show you just how deserving of her name she is. Give her a chance, and you`ll gain a devoted best friend who will happily spend her days by your side.

Story
Clarice has been the perfect house guest so far! She does well in her crate after taking just a few minutes to settle and has had no accidents in the house while following a regular schedule. She loves going for walks and playing fetch, but also knows how to relax and settle nicely indoors. Outside, Clarice enjoys running laps around the yard with her nose to the ground, so a fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus for her. Clarice is a true Velcro dog who loves being with her people and happily follows her foster mom from room to room. She's a sweet, affectionate companion who enjoys being part of whatever you're doing. This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered.
