Story
Meet Doctor Knox! And yes, he is every bit as handsome as his name suggests. This gorgeous blonde Cocker Spaniel has soft, wavy hair, a happy little wiggle, and a personality that lets you know he's arrived. He'll be turning 4 years old in November and weighs a healthy, trim 33 pounds. He's a wonderful age, past the puppy craziness but still young enough to enjoy plenty of playtime, walks, toys, and adventures with his people.Doctor Knox also comes with his own built-in home security system. He likes to announce when someone new comes around, so there's no need to spend money on a monthly alarm subscription. Just keep his food bowl filled, his toy basket stocked, and remind him how handsome he is. He considers those perfectly reasonable household arrangements!Knox loves his toys, especially his chew toys, and enjoys his morning or evening walks. He is happy to entertain himself with a favorite toy and can often be found stretched out on his dog bed, contentedly passing the time. He's currently enjoying life in a foster home with other dogs and plenty of activity. He has opinions about his canine housemates and isn't a boy who takes much sass from anyone, but he's also learned to settle in and enjoy having company around. His story is a little sad. For nearly four years, Knox was the king of his castle and had a home and person of his own. Unfortunately, his owner eventually decided she no longer had the time to spend with him and surrendered him to rescue. It took him a little while to adjust to the change, but he's found his footing again and is showing everyone what a happy, loving boy he really is.What Knox wants most is a person or family who genuinely enjoys having a dog around. He loves his people and would do best with someone who understands the Cocker Spaniel personality: affectionate, clever, sometimes vocal, occasionally opinionated, and always full of character. He needs a kind, confident leader who will give him consistency, attention, and a place where he can feel secure and loved. If you've ever loved a Cocker Spaniel, you probably already know what makes these dogs so special. And if you've never had one, Doctor Knox might just be the fellow who introduces you to the joys of the breed. He's handsome, happy, playful, and ready to be somebody's special boy again. He's had a home once, and he'd really like to have one for keeps this time.If Doctor Knox sounds like the kind of companion you've been missing, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. Be sure to include your city and state so we can learn a little about where this handsome fellow might be headed for his next chapter!November 7, 2026, 7:50 am

Not accepting applications right now. This dog will not be available for adoption until late November. We are asking for donations only at this time to get his vet care done. You can donate to PayPal by going to larrydonnacarp@aol.com or send a donation to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Please donate today. Donations Needed and Appreciated - This sweet boy needs to be neutered, have a cherry eye fixed with recovery time and he needs a dental. Joshua is a very sweet, somewhat timid 3-year-old black n tan male with a cherry eye. He is a small boy and weighs about 20 pounds. We were told he is a Cocker Spaniel or Cocker mix, but our vet says he is probably a Cavy/Doxie mix due to his looks and short legs. He came to us from a NC shelter where he had been surrendered to them by his owner who said he and another dog they had were killing their chickens. In a new home, we will not adopt him to anyone with chickens or livestock or anywhere he is roaming around outside without supervision. He is a very nice boy. We will get him an appointment for a bath and groom. At his vet appointment we learned he is heartworm negative, he has an ear infection, so this is being treated and he also needed medicine for an eye infection. He is scheduled to be neutered, have a dental and have his cherry eye fixed. Please donate as shown above. Thank you for your kindness.

Story
Adoption Pending- Ms. Apple Pie will be going to her new home as soon as we get her ear issues under control. We need to raise $3100. Please donate to help us get her vet care done. Checks to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081, or PayPal to larrydonnacarp@aol.com. Donations Needed for Ear Ablation that is recommended by the Dermatologist. Ear culture came back that this is the only option for her one ear. Hi There, My name is Ms. Apple Pie; I am a tri-color female said to be 5 years old, but the rescue vet says that I could be 5 to 7. She also said that it looks like I was a breeder dog at some point and I've had a few litters. I am an owner give up due to family issues. Vet exam showed that my ears were very dirty and I would need a dental. My ears are being treated; I've had a dental and didn't lose any teeth, and I am now spayed plus they took a growth off. I am a real sweetheart, super friendly, easy going and I am now micro-chipped to CCR. I have been doing really well with the other dogs here at the rescue. I would love to spend quality time with you and be your new best friend. A dog social pal that would love an easy-going companion would be great. I have no history with cats or children. I came here really dirty like I had been kept outside so it felt really good when I got a bath and groomed. I would love a home with a fenced yard and spending quality time with you. I will be a wonderful companion for you to love. My ear issues have been holding up my adoption. Luckily, the folks are willing to wait. Please donate to help with my care as shown above. Adoption Fee $400
