Story
Bailee is a two-year-old purebred buff Cocker Spaniel. His foster Mom says that he is a typical young cocker spaniel, full of personality, and curious about everything. He loves food and toys and is a professional napper - when he’s not keeping busy with any of the previously mentioned activities. Bailee will do best in a home with no small children. He would love a home with owners who want to take him on walks and for car rides. Bailee loves riding in the car, so much so that he sits by the car door and waits hoping he go with you.  Bailee is house trained, up-to-date on shots and HW negative. He is not a fan of crates, but does fine loose in the house when his foster family is away. Bailee does have allergies that are treated with a hypo-allergenic food and daily allergy medication.   Bailee does very well with other dogs. He doesn’t require a companion dog, but if the home has another dog(s), he would prefer a buddy who will play with him. When Bailee’s beautiful eyes look at you, or his adorably fluffy paws pat you to remind you that he would like some attention, your heart instantly melts. He is looking for a home who will want to work with him to grow, learn and trust. Anyone who adopts Bailee will be very lucky and have a wonderful addition to their home who will continue to flourish. If you are interested in adopting Bailee, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **    July 19, 2025, 2:31 pm

Story
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Buddy, a very cute 2-year-old, neutered Cocker Spaniel boy. He was turned into a NC shelter with the owners saying he had started nibbling at their feet, and they didn't want their grandchildren to get hurt. He lived with them for two months after getting him from someone else. This sweet boy comes from an unknown, unstable past. He needs an adult home. Absolutely no toys, no young children or small grandkids due to past bite issues which his foster rescue mom will discuss if you are approved to adopt him. He has been in 4 different homes before rescue. He came here with bilateral cherry eyes, HW & fecal status negative. A repair for his cherry eyes was done with a good recovery. He came to us very sad, dirty and needed to be cleaned up. After being groomed he came back withdrawn from too much noise and too many dogs. Best to have a patient groomer and few distractions. A new owner must listen to what we suggest. He needs to learn to trust you for an adoption to go well. He didn't know kindness, love, attention or how to handle noises until we worked with him. He can be in a home with one other Cocker Spaniel who is easy going and would love a pal. He will thrive in a home with stability, kindness and love. Someone who will work with him and not give up on him. His issues will be discussed if approved to meet him. Fenced yard a must. He is a good boy. Adoption Fee is $500.

Story
No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this very sweet guy, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Jackson, a loving, healthy, 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel. He was surrendered to a NC Shelter with the owners saying he snapped at their kids when they wouldn't share their food with him. The shelter was overcrowded so he came to us. An adult home with no young children, some house training and a fenced yard is best. Older teen children might be okay. This very handsome, friendly boy is a big- boned Cocker Spaniel weighing about 40 pounds. He is heartworm negative, neutered, micro-chipped and he had a dental. Due to his past, absolutely no young kids in his new home. Older teen children might be okay. He is a happy, affectionate guy most of the time, but he does have some issues due to a lack of social skills. He also has anxiety issues when groomed and riding in a vehicle is difficult when he hears loud noises. He is not a playful dog, but he would enjoy quality time with you and a companion to hang out with. A calm, stable home with someone who can spend quality time working with him is best. He is a good boy and will become a loving companion once he gets to know you. No apartments or condos. Adoption fee $400 If you are unable to adopt but would like to help us care for this dog, please email us to find out how to donate.

Story
No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Nugget, a very cute boy. He is a 10-month-old, reddish- blonde Cocker Spaniel. His owner bought him at 8 weeks old. He lived with an Autistic child who is now 7 and the environment was just too much for him. The owner told us her child was not being nice to him. The decision to give him up was difficult, but best for him and the family. He came to us as a traumatized, scared, potential fear biter. He has been neutered, groomed and all necessary vetting is done. We have worked with him some and he is healthy, much happier, wags his tail more and thrives on kindness. He still needs time to overcome a rough, difficult first part of his life but once he bonds with you, he gets happy, happy. He will need to work on leash training, messing with his face and we are not sure why, but he gets snappy and difficult at the vet. Riding in a car makes him nervous and uncomfortable but is getting better. He is still crate aggressive and not fond of being around other dogs. This said, he should probably be your only dog, but we will try letting him be with other dogs and update. Best home is a calm adult home with few distractions, no kids or grandkids visiting and a securely fenced yard. He needs to bond with you and gain confidence that he will not be hurt again. We feel he will thrive in a loving home with kindness and someone to care about him. Adoption Fee $500

Story
No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out our application by going to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save it. Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. This young dog is a special needs tripod. Meet Copper, a healthy, adorable, loving Cocker Spaniel pup. He is a neutered, reddish buff boy, 9 months old. His owner got him as a young, playful pup. He was dearly loved and happy. One day he was playful, ran outside and jumped off their deck. His left rear leg was broken in multiple pieces. At only 5 months old, their vet said the best option was to amputate his leg. While recovering, he was trying to adjust and bit their child. Best home for this tripod pup is an adult home with children 13 and older. No young kids or young grandchildren. To keep him happy and safe, no stairs, doggie doors or homes with a deck. A securely fenced yard, either chain link or privacy is a must. No big dogs but he can be with a small, friendly, easy going companion dog who is dog social and would love to have a pal. He needs someone willing to work with him and train him. He does have some minor issues which seem to be related to frustration. He is a sweet boy, loves toys, is crate trained and did well at the groomer. No apartments or condos-he can be a bit vocal at times. He will need patience and kindness at vet visits around other dogs. Adoption Fee $500
