If you are interested in adopting this beautiful Cocker Spaniel girl, please fill out an application by going to charlottecockerresuce.org to download and save our application. Email your filled out application back to us to be approved. We will review it and get back to you. Meet Sadie. She is a 4-year-old, black merle Cocker Spaniel girl. She was being cared for by her owner until she recently came to rescue. The lady gave her up because she was very jealous of her other dogs when they were given attention. She attacked the lady's older dog, a 12-year-old Cockapoo due to a jealousy issue. She is a good girl and likes cats. She must be the only dog living with you at your home due to her past of jealousy issues. A fenced yard is a must. She will have a dental and be spayed plus any other vet needs before being adopted out. When she is ready for a home, her adoption fee will be $400.

Donations Urgently Needed to help us with the care of this sweet Cocker Girl. She has several vet needs that we must address. Please donate to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or you can call it into our rescue vet, Cabarrus Animal Hospital at (704)786-6102 and tell them you want to make a donation to Charlotte Cocker Rescue, Donna Carpenters account. Your kindness is appreciated, and no amount is too small. Meet Blondie. She is a 5- to 7-year-old reddish buff Cocker Girl. She came from a NC Shelter. They said she was running around as a stray and covered in fleas. She was given multiple baths and they found that she has whipworms. They guessed her to be 4 to 5 years old, but our vet said that she is older as indicated above. This Cocker girl is very sweet, rides well in a car and walks pretty good on a leash. At our vet appointment we learned she has ear infections, needs to be spayed, have a dental and treatment for whipworms. She was pretty good on the table but didn't like the staff messing with her ears or looking at her teeth. She came in with here with tests showing a grade 3 heart murmur and severely anemic. This anemia diagnosis sometimes indicates that she had heartworms at one point even though she is now testing as heartworm negative. We now have her on a liquid iron supplement for the anemia issue and the meds seem to be helping. She will be re-checked in a few weeks to see if any improvement. If so, then she can be spayed, have her dental and re-check the heart murmur issue. She has been groomed and has been moved to a foster home in Statesville. No young kids, teen and older okay. This dog will not be available until all vetting needs are done. When she is ready, her adoption fee will be $400.

Story
Donations Needed for heartworm treatment - this very skinny, sweet cocker boy can hopefully start his heartworm treatment real soon, after he gains some weight. He is high heartworm positive. It will probably take three treatments with rest and recovery time and then we will re-test. Please help us with his care by donating to Cabarrus Animal Hospital at (704) 786-6102. Just tell the staff that you would like to make a donation to Charlotte Cocker Rescue, the Donna Carpenter account or you can send a check to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081. PayPal too. Meet Henry, a very neglected, scared, skinny 4-year-old Cocker boy. He is a sweet boy who craves attention and love. He has always lived outside and was never given any love or attention by the owners. He is high heartworm positive because he was never on any kind of prevention. The staff at this particular NC shelter were tipped of last October to investigate this as a cruelty case. The owners were cautioned to get this dog groomed as he was very overgrown, skinny and pitiful looking from neglect. The shelter folks went out to this home again to do a check on him. They found him badly matted with ears adhered to his head. After questioning them again about neglect of care, the owner agreed to surrender him over to the shelter. He had to be sedated to be groomed and he also got neutered. The shelter asked for rescue help due to high heartworm positive. They transported to us, and he will be taken care of properly. This boy is so nice, easy going and calm. He is very loving and craves attention. He will need to go through heartworm treatment and then he will have a dental. He seems to prefer woman over men. He will be here in rescue for several months. He will not be up for adoption until all of his vetting needs are taken care of and he is a healthy boy. Please donate to help with his care as shown above. Any amount is greatly appreciated and thank you for your kindness to help this boy on his way to a better life.

Story
Say hello to Coop! This sweet approximately 3-4 year old dog came to us from a shelter where he was found as a stray. Coop did not like the shelter life and they reached out to us to see if we could rescue him. Coop was someone's dog before because he came to us already neutered and potty trained. He is very loving, and while he can be slow to warm up to new people right away, once he knows you are a friend he will sit by you for love and pets and attention. Coop gets along with dogs both big and small. But he also would be a great only dog. We think he is part spaniel. Please apply for this sweet man at apply.neshamarescue.org

No Phone Calls. If you are interested in adopting this sweet Cocker girl, please go to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Fill it out and email it back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Jackie, a 7-year-old chocolate and tan Cocker Spaniel girl. She is a retired breeder dog that has not had much attention or love. She came in with another retired breeder dog and we quickly found out that the owners lied to us when they had their vet evaluations. Both girls had major mammary masses requiring extensive radical mastectomies. Jackie also has mastitis too. She is now spayed; tumor was removed and just needed to let mastitis clear. Biopsy on tumor came back as carcinoma, low grade cancer and they got all of it. 2nd surgery is scheduled for June 10th for radical mammary chain removal. The ideal home for this sweet girl must be willing to house train, teach her to walk on a leash and you must have a secure fenced yard. She craves attention and love and is a busy girl who likes to explore. Watching her outside, she knows how to open an unlocked gate. This said, you must always have a closed padlock on it to keep her safe from getting out. She does not do well with male dogs at all, and she is in breeder fight mode when around other female dogs. We have no past history with big dogs, cats or children. Her adoption fee is $400.00.

No phone calls. If you are interested in adopting this red n white cocker boy, please go to charlottecockerrescue.org to download and save our application. Fill it out and email it back to us to be approved. We will review it and return calls. Meet Prince, a very friendly, neutered one and a half to 2-year-old, red n white Cocker Spaniel boy. He was an abandoned dog taken in at a NC shelter. He was cleaned up, vetted for shots and then got adopted out to a new home. A short time after, he was brought back to the shelter because it just didn't work out with a senior owner. He is super friendly, somewhat house trained and updated on vet care. He is healthy, easy going, crate trained and a calm/lazy kind of guy. He loves sitting on a chair or at your feet. He has not shown any signs of aggression, he gets along best with Cockers his size that are not dominate and he is not good with big dogs. A home with children 10 and older is best, no young kids and a fenced yard is an absolute must. This boy needs a family that will love him and help him to thrive. Adoption Fee $500
