Story
Hi, I’m Skye! I’m a super sweet, playful girl who loves attention and being part of whatever my people are doing. I’m a pretty low-energy and easygoing girl, but I absolutely love starting my day by going outside in the morning! I’m friendly with people and may be a little shy or unsure when we first meet, but give me a little time and I’ll warm up quickly. I’m great with kids and other dogs, and I love having furry friends to play with. Since I’m an enthusiastic jumper when I get excited, I would do best with older kids. I haven’t had the chance to meet any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. I’ve been doing great with potty training and have had no accidents in the house! I’m still learning my leash skills, crate training, and basic obedience, and I’m eager to keep learning with my new family. I’m also a girl who likes to express herself! I can be pretty vocal when I hear noises, when someone comes to the door, or when I’m hanging out in my crate. I have some separation anxiety and am still learning that it’s okay when my people leave. When I get anxious, I can become a little too interested in chewing things, so I’ll need a patient family who can help me learn, give me appropriate things to chew, and show me that being on my own can be okay. What can I say? I just really love being by my people! I’m also a clever little escape artist, so my family will need to make sure I’m always safely contained. I’m a smart girl who keeps life interesting! I may need a little patience, guidance, and continued training, but I have so much love to give. --- Skye is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/12/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Quiggley, a 5-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a gentle spirit, a curious nose, and a heart that’s deeply devoted to his people. Quiggley is happiest when he’s near you—whether he’s curled up on the couch, relaxing in a soft chair, or quietly following you from room to room. He keeps a close, loving eye on his humans and forms a strong, loyal bond. He’s affectionate, mild-mannered, and has a constant little tail wag that perfectly matches his happy, easygoing personality. This sweet boy has a serious love for sniffing—his nose is always working! He would likely thrive with activities like scent work or enrichment games that let him explore the world through smell. He also enjoys the simple joys in life like walks, car rides, and watching (or tracking!) birds—he definitely has a bit of an instinctual interest there. Quiggley gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys their company, often following their lead and learning from them. That said, he doesn’t need another dog in the home as long as his people are around often—he truly just wants to be with his humans. He’s also a big fan of treats (not picky at all!) and is starting to discover how fun toys can be. He enjoys chasing tennis balls and carrying around small, soft toys in his mouth. Quiggley is crate trained and actually loves his crate—it’s one of his favorite places to relax and sleep at night. However, he does not do well being left for long periods and can become stressed if crated for more than a couple of hours, so he’s looking for a home where someone is around most of the time. He is mostly house trained, with occasional accidents and some marking that has already improved significantly and continues to get better as he settles in. A consistent routine will help him continue to succeed. Quiggley does very well with adults and is friendly and social when meeting new people (especially if treats are involved!). However, children tend to make him uncomfortable. He becomes alarmed and will bark, so he would do best in an adult-only home or one without young children. He’s also been wonderful for grooming and bathing, even with the extra care his skin has needed—he’s a total champ for spa days. Quiggley is a delightful, loving companion who brings a calm, happy presence to a home. With his loyalty, gentle nature, and adorable little quirks, he’s the kind of dog who will quietly become your shadow and will make a wonderful companion. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Age: EST. DOB 11/09/2022 Weight: 28 pounds Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Working on it! Does well in a gated area Hello world! My name is Grogu, and I’m on the hunt for my forever family! My foster family says I am making huge strides every single day. I used to be a little more timid, but I am growing braver and more confident by the moment. Once I know I’m safe, my sweet, affectionate side completely shines through. I love every human in my foster house and will happily follow you around just to be near you. My Favorite Things: Couch Time: If you’re watching a movie, I need to be right there snuggled up against you. Bedtime: Sleeping next to my human companions is my absolute favorite night-time routine. Toys: Playing with toys is the best! Because I love them so much, I can sometimes be a little resource-guardy with my foster dog brother, so I do best with humans who can manage toy time while I keep learning. House Training: Fully potty trained with consistency. My Skills & Manners: Walking: I am doing amazing on the leash! Outings with me are a breeze. Crate Time: I’m still working on loving my crate. I might tell you about my feelings with a few barks at first, but I quickly settle down and rest. I have so much love to give and can’t wait to find a family to share all my snuggles with. Could that be with you? Adoption fee:
