Story
I adopted Raya from an animal shelter about last year and she is approximately 2yrs old. Raya is a really timid but super sweet girl. I have no idea what she went through before I got her but she can be really anxious and needs a home where someone can be home often or at least has other animals because she has separation anxiety. I still have yet to hear her bark. Raya loves playing with other dogs and that’s when she is the happiest. She loves to sleep in bed with someone or to be snuggled up on the couch. She has a large kennel and bed that I’ll send with her to her new home. I have to relocate to Texas for work and can’t take her with me and I really need to find her a loving forever home.

Adoption Application adoption application >>>  Meet Livi. At just 5 months old and only 27 pounds, Livi is everything people hope for in a puppy. She is super sweet, great with kids, loves her people, and enjoys being around other dogs. She still has all the fun, goofy puppy energy, but she also has the kind, gentle personality that makes everyone fall in love with her. Whether she’s playing with friends or following her favorite humans around, Livi is happiest when she’s with the people she loves. And if there’s one thing you’ll never have to wonder about, it’s whether Livi will love her person. She is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds and will be a loyal companion through every adventure, every lazy Sunday, and every stage of life. She’s growing up in foster care, but what she really needs is a family of her own. Someone is going to get an incredible dog when they adopt Livi. Could it be you? Bonus points if your forever home includes a place to swim—Livi absolutely loves the water! Our adoption fee is $175 and includes age appropriate vaccines, vet check, deworming, spay and a microchip. Story
Molly is 2 years old & 50lbs. She came to us after being found with a gunshot wound in her leg. Her leg was amputated before coming to us. Unfortunately there were some issues with her amputation which required her to be opened back up in order to flush out infection & suture her properly. Molly is a beautiful girl that loves to hoard all toys. She knows basic commands & has done well overall in her foster home. She may be a tripod but she is still an active girl. Currently fostered with other dogs. To adopt, please complete an adoption application. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHRA/Dog

Story
UPDATE! Meet Marshall! This sweet boy and his sibling were found dumped. They are adorable mix breed… we would guess Collie/Lab, but that just a guess. They are 8ish weeks old and so so sweet. They will be ready in two weeks after second vaccines and they are altered. We are taking apps now and reserving them to the perfect forever home!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $195 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $145 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! SHE IS NOT HARD TO LOVE -- SHE JUST NEEDS YOU TO STAY -- MEET LILYSome dogs run to you.Lily watches you first. She stands back quietly, takes you in, and tries to decide if you are someone safe. Someone worth trusting. Someone who is going to stay. She has not always had the answer to that question go her way -- but she has never stopped hoping it will. That kind of quiet hope in a dog will absolutely undo you if you let it.Lily is a two-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier with a gentle spirit, the sweetest soul, and a heart full of love, she has not quite figured out how to give away yet. She is just waiting for the right person to make it safe enough to try.WHO IS LILY?Lily is soft. She is still. She is the kind of dog who does not fill a room with noise but fills it with something better -- a calm, tender presence that makes you slow down and pay attention. She is figuring out the world at her own pace and every small step forward she takes is genuinely beautiful to witness. The people here at The Haven have watched her open up little by little and we can tell you with complete certainty -- what is on the other side of that trust is something truly special.FUN SIDE• Lily enjoys the simple and the peaceful -- a soft bed, a quiet yard, a calm, unhurried day• She loves exploring at her own pace without pressure or chaos• A gentle walk, a sunny spot to rest, a familiar routine -- these are the things that make Lily feel alive and happy• She does not need constant activity -- she needs consistency and safety and those two things will bring out her best every time• Watch her confidence grow day by day and you will understand why patience is always worth itSWEET SIDE• Once Lily trusts you she gives you everything -- fully, completely, and without reservation• She forms deep meaningful bonds that do not waver -- her loyalty is the kind that lasts a lifetime• She is incredibly affectionate with her person once she feels secure -- gentle, close, and quietly devoted• She will do best as the only pet in a calm one person or adult only home where she can feel fully safe and completely understood• Her love is not loud -- but it is unshakeable and it is worth every single moment of patience it takes to earn itHER PERFECT DAY• A slow gentle morning walk with no rush and no pressure• Time in a peaceful yard exploring at her own pace
