Story
Personality Snapshot: Playful, curious, energetic, smart, cautious Meet Chuck, an awesome high energy working breed boy who is eager for adventure and fun. He is smart, playful, and full of curiosity, and once he warms up he shows a super sweet temperament. Chuck can be a bit nervous meeting new people, but he warms up fast and likes pets once he feels comfortable. He tends to move out of people’s way while still staying curious about what they are doing. Chuck enjoys playing with mild, playful dogs and gets very excited to meet new canine friends. He can be a bit much for some dogs, but he genuinely wants to play and could live with other dogs who are a good match. He has not been tested with cats, and he may have a higher prey drive, so caution is advised. Chuck will need a secure home setup. When left alone he tries to escape to be with people, even if other dogs are present. In a kennel he spins, digs or bites at exits, and vocalizes loudly. He can jump very high and will clear any fence once he knows he can. A tall, secure fence or in-ground electric fence will be important for his safety. On leash, he pulls hard and shows mixed excitement and anxiety around other dogs. With socialization and practice he has great potential. He is very smart and will need training and a job to thrive. He could be an excellent adventure dog, scent dog, agility dog, or sporting companion. When he has excess energy he paces and whines, but once his needs are met he settles into being a very good boy. Ideal Home: A dedicated adopter who understands high drive dogs and enjoys training. Someone ready to build his confidence, give him structure, keep him safely contained, and provide plenty of physical and mental activities. He could even make a great ranch partner if safely managed. Come meet Chuck at High Country Humane, located at 11665 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. We’re open daily 11am–5pm, closed Wednesdays. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Mochi🍡 is looking for a loving home! Things the team knows about me: - I have been doing well in a Foster home since I have been here at the shelter. - I am very smart and playful! - I am also very sweet - but sassy! - I have done well around other dogs and kids, but I have not been exposed to cats yet. I’m full of puppy energy and ready to learn! Training is up to my new family, and I’m excited to master things like potty training, basic commands, and socializing. I can’t wait to grow and learn with you! Contact my foster by TEXT at 808-557-1227 to set up a meet-n-greet or ask additional questions! Adopting with High Country Humane means your new pet is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped (we register it for free!). Each adoption also includes a free health exam. Story
Flame's love for you burns bright, come meet him at the shelter today! He is an amazing 1 year old, 52lbs, border collie mix who came to the shelter with his sister. Ember. Flame is high energy & highly excitable. He is GREAT with other dogs and would really thrive in a home with another energetic dog. Flame is the kind of dog that needs daily enrichment & mental work, or even a job, to remain content. Without this, he will get bored! He is working on his leash skills & potty training, but with your help, he'll get there in no time! Come meet him at High Country Humane, located at 11665 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. Our shelter is open Thursday–Tuesday, 11 am–5 pm, and closed on Wednesdays.
