Story
**AVAILABLE FOR PRE APPROVAL FOR FEB 21** Meet Elsa - a 12-week-old female, possible collie/Aussie mix with the softest puppy fluff and a set of beautiful, curious eyes. This sweet girl loves to explore her world, whether that's investigating every corner of the yard or proudly carrying around a toy that's almost as big as she is. She's playful and joyful, but she also has a gentle, affectionate side. After a good play session, she's more than happy to curl up beside you and soak in all the love. As we suspect her to be a herding mix, Elsa will thrive with a family who can provide structure, continued training, and plenty of mental and physical enrichment. She's at the perfect age to learn and bond deeply with her forever people. With consistency and positive guidance, she's going to grow into an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. Elsa is ready to start her next chapter - one filled with adventure, learning, and a lifetime of love. Story
There are five adorable puppies in our Primrose litter of 10 week old orphans that have just joined our Connecticut Rescue: Claudia, Eliza, Marius, Primrose and Rayne. All the pups in this litter have gentle temperaments and playful, friendly personalities. Despite the chaotic shelter process, these pups have weathered the storm and show no obvious signs of trauma or neglect.  It appears that the pups’ owner unwittingly facilitated an accidental breeding of unaltered adult housemates and then was overwhelmed by puppy love. She offloaded the puppies to a high kill rural North Carolina Shelter, and we were able to transport them to our place in Canterbury, Connecticut.  We have had the puppies DNA tested, and they are a diverse mix of breeds, but 56% of that mix is Collie. The weight range is projected at 40 to 60 pounds, and their working roots suggest that adopters should be prepared to provide a lot of exercise and mental stimulation.  Any of these pups would be an excellent choice for a savvy Working Breed adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. They have taken well to basic puppy Positive Reinforcement training techniques and seem to enjoy the learning process. We seek adopters willing to raise them as Canine Good Citizens.  All of these pups could easily join multi-dog homes with older, playful dogs, tolerant of puppy energy. They would thrive with an active single, couple or family with older kids who have been taught to be gentle with young dogs.  All puppies are in excellent health, fully vaccinated and dewormed. If you are interested in one of our Primrose litter mates, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
Scooby is a gentle soul with a heartbreaking story. Rescued from the meat trade in China in 2019, he came to ARF carrying the weight of past trauma. While those hardships made him shy and slow to trust, Scooby has always had the biggest heart and the sweetest personality. Shortly after arriving at ARF, Scooby was adopted into a loving home, where he thrived. Sadly, after the unexpected loss of his favorite person, Scooby has returned to ARF and is once again looking for a place to call home. Scooby is slowly coming out of his shell. When you go to take him outside, he makes soft, expressive noises, communicating his readiness. Once outside, he absolutely lights up; walks are his happy place, and they help him feel brave and confident. He’s especially confident walking alongside other dogs, with whom he’s very friendly. Scooby will thrive in a calm, patient home with a securely fenced yard and no young children. He may benefit from a gentle canine companion to help guide him. He isn't a fan of being hovered over, but with time, patience, and love, Scooby will open up and show you just how special he truly is. If you can offer Scooby the space and patience to blossom, he may just be your perfect match! Interested in fostering Scooby? Visit our foster page to complete a foster application.
