Meg spent an entire month at an overcrowded Southern shelter, hoping each day would be the day she was saved. Thankfully, a kind Southern foster stepped up and gave Meg the chance she desperately needed. American Lab Rescue committed to helping Meg find the family she deserves. Now, surrounded by love, attention, and the comforts of a home, Meg is thriving! She is discovering just how wonderful life can be when someone believes in you. Read on to see what Meg's wonderful foster Mom has to say about her:Until Thursday when we were outside, Meg walked slowly, head down and jumped or flinched at every little noise. But she would come to me when I called her. Suddenly Thursday she bolted into a run doing a figure 8 around me and my yard. Meg showed joy and freedom! Her tail was high in the air above her back wagging for the first time. And she’s been different the past few days. Meg is now playing with toys for the first time and acting like a dog should. She has a marvelous personality!! She’s gentle, sweet, smart, still shy at times, and loves affection and being playful. Story
Coda is an extremely loving dog who loves attention. He is crate trained and does excellent in his crate during the day. At night we let him roam the house and he does great. The only thing he has destroyed is a shower puff. He lived outside for the first 4 years of his life down in South Carolina. We think he was tied to a tree because he is missing fur on his neck. He also is somewhat bald on his back. We’re not sure why but he was treated for mange but that wasn’t it. We adopted him in February of 2026. He initially marked in the house but has stopped and has not had an accident in the house at all. He did 3 weeks of training at Coaching 4 Paws which helped with his leash walking and commands. He used to lunge at cars but doesn’t do that anymore. When we adopted him, they said he was good with other dogs, but he seems to get really worked up around them. We have kept him away from other dogs that’s why we are unsure about how he would do.
