Story
This beauty also has some dalmation in him and I guess that accounts for some of the black spots on him. His DNA was done and the results were not real surprising. He was very scared when he came in to our local Animal Control..kill shelter. Our group saved him, took care of his medical, he competed heartworm treatment. THen he was ready to give him some exposure to new things...he was very timid of new experiences. He is doing better and ready for a home.He is still dog reactive so we are working on that. He needs someone who is patient, will take him for walks , play with toys with him ( he plays on his own, however). He is very affectionate.

Story
Sweet Dixie has been at the rescue for a little over a year. The group of dogs that she entered care with were quickly adopted out. She is still waiting. Dixie was a young mom who had to scrounge for food while living outside. She no longer has to wonder where her next meal is coming from, but she is still wondering when someone will choose her. Dixie is an energetic girl who just wants to be near her human - she prefers women. She loves to roll in the grass in the sunshine and take walks. Dixie is energetic and enjoys running around at a dog park. Being a heeler, she is very smart and quick to learn. She really wants to please. Dixie would love to find a home where she feels secure and can be active. She will need time to settle in and get used to the routines of the household. Dixie is a sweet girl with a lot of love to give. She is not good with cats and is dog selective.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Flea is a 5-month-old Chihuahua–Heeler mix girl with a big heart and even bigger energy. She absolutely loves to play — honestly, she never gets tired of it — so she’s the kind of pup who will keep you smiling all day long. She’s curious about everything and always wants to be part of whatever you’re doing, which makes her a funny little troublemaker in the sweetest way. She’s also very smart. Flea learns quickly, understands what’s allowed and what’s not, and responds well to training. Going for walks or running around with her is always a highlight of the day because she brings so much joy and excitement wherever she goes. Potty training? Completely done. She uses pads at home without any accidents and also does great outside. At night, she sleeps peacefully in her crate like a little angel. Her soft, shiny coat is absolutely beautiful, and her white front paws look like she’s wearing little gloves, adding to her unique charm. With her round, shiny grape-like eyes and her big happy smile, Flea is truly irresistible. Is there someone out there who’s ready to love her forever and become her forever family? To apply for adoption visit: eastcoastcaninerescue.org December 12, 2025, 11:11 am

Story
Here comes precious Izar a 10week old Aussie mix puppy! Izar was just 5 weeks old when he was rescued only to find he had a broken jaw. Izar recently had the wire removed from his chin that has been supporting his jaw for weeks. Due to his young age, his jaw bone healed into the hardware, so removal was a bit more invasive.  He was returned to us the same day and has been doing very well. He is not on any meds for pain, and he doesn't seem to be in any discomfort.   We are slowly starting to ween him  from watered-down soft food to puppy kibbles.   Izar (whom we've been calling him "Chops" due to his unfortunate circumstance ) has had his vaccinations and 1st round of deworming...tolerate them well.    Izar loves to nap in his comfy bed and steps out when needing to relieve himself on his puppy pads!  Despite all Izar has been through, he is a happy little puppy who has been getting introduced to other dogs, our cat, and small children! Like most puppies, he just wants to play and shows lots of spunk! He loves to be cuddled and kissed. A TOTAL LOVE HOG Although the cuddles and kisses are his favorite,  he loves to watch Pup Academy and also enjoys Alvin and the Chipmunks on TV.   We are also happy to say we were finally able to introduce him to soft play toys (just NO "tug of war") and he is so happy to be a puppy with toys to play with.  Izar also LOVES bath time.... "Scrub-a-dub doggie, soft little doggie..." ( for those of us old enough to remember lol) Although we are so pleased with all mentioned, Izar has only two issues to overcome which is loud noises or getting put into PJs or his coat...he will be sure to grunt and growl to express his disapproval. Please apply to adopt him via our website.  *** not eligible to be adopted in Massachusetts due to quarantine restrictions***December 8, 2025, 7:34 pm

Story
Oriola is one of six orphaned puppies that have joined our Connecticut Rescue. At just 8 months old, she is a spirited love bug with energy to burn! This cutie has a gentle temperament and playful, friendly personality. Despite the chaotic shelter process, she has weathered the storm and shows no obvious signs of trauma or neglect.  It appears that the pups’ owner unwittingly facilitated an accidental breeding of her unaltered adult housemates, and then was overwhelmed by puppy love. She offloaded the puppies to a high kill rural North Carolina Shelter, and we were able to transport them to our place in Canterbury, Connecticut.  We have had Oriola DNA tested, and she is a diverse mix of breeds: Australian Cattle Dog, Beagle and Chihuahua, along with an inexplicable dose of Poodle.  Her weight range is projected at 20 to 30 pounds, and Oriola currently weighs 18 pounds. Her working roots suggest that adopters should be prepared to provide a lot of exercise and mental stimulation.  Oriola would be an excellent choice for a savvy Working Breed adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. She has taken well to basic puppy Positive Reinforcement training techniques, and seems to enjoy the learning process. We seek adopters willing to raise them as Canine Good Citizens.  Oriola could easily join a multi-dog home with older, playful dogs tolerant of puppy energy. She would thrive with an active single, couple or family with older kids who have been taught to be gentle with young dogs.  Oriola is in excellent health, fully vaccinated and dewormed. If you are interested in her, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.
