Story
Forgive me for being a negligent foster mom and allow me to introduce you to HALLIE (knows Stella). ?? This sweet 14.5 yo senior collie mix, about 55 pounds, was returned to SAAP after 6 years through no fault of her own.  What I've learned about Hallie so far:  ? Housebroken,  ? Enjoys her crate but doesn't need one, ? Loves walks & her person, ?/? Low energy: fantastic if you're looking for a dog to quietly keep you company, but not a good fit if you're looking for a companion to join you on epic adventures ?/? She is said to be good with kids but not cats, however, I have neither.  ? She was quite interested & curious when seeing a bunny hop by on our walk, so maybe no small prey in her future home would be best. ?/? May be dog selective. While she was not enthused at all to meet my 8yo male resident dog who is half her size (teeth bared by both on opposite sides of the baby gate), she was happily enamored to meet & follow my neighbor's 7/8yo male dog who is twice her size along the shared fence line. ? I'd recommend no or very minimal steps for Hallie. I have only 2 for her to climb into the house and she will struggle sometimes & is a bit stiff when rising from a nap. Likely a bit of arthritis in her legs. If Hallie sounds like she may be a good fit to live out her remaining years in the comfort of your home, please consider submitting your adoption application at AdoptAStray.com or replying to your approved app with her name.November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Remington. I am a collie mix. I have been neutered. I am fully up to date on vaccines as well. I am looking for a family who will take care of me and get me where I need to be. I enjoy cuddles and playing tug of war. I do have one request before you consider adopting me. I do not get along with male dogs but I get along great with female dogs. Please do not adopt me with a male dog in the house. Other than that I am an amazing dog with lots of love and affection. Please give me a chance.

Story
Just in time for the holidays we have a big ol plate of cuteness for you. Meet Butterball! A handsome young pupper approx. 4months old, 20lbs and growing. We assume him to be some sort of collie mix. Golden brown and deliciously adorable, he's a typical puppy. This happy little guy is a Turkey, exploring everything and is very curious. He loves to play. Given his breed mix, a home with a yard or an active lifestyle would be best. Butterball is smart, he is crate trained, knows where to take his meals, and is making good progress on potty training. Sweet as pie, he is a snuggler. He wants to be with the pack where he feels safe and cozy. All our foster pups come heartworm tested, neutered/spayed, microchipped, and with all the important puppy appointments in between. To wrap this little guy up for you to take home we are asking an adoption fee of $360.00. In this season of giving, help give Butterball a forever home and bring joy to the family year round. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.

These pups are in Newport, Kentucky too!

Story
Please welcome  Galileo Galilei ! This sweet boy has been through a lot in the short time he has been alive. He has been subjected to parasite infestation; respiratory infection; eye infection and skin infection. Like the good sport that he is, he faced it like a champ and is feeling so much better now!!  His fur is still in the process of growing back so that may take some more time before it comes back fully. Right now, he does have a lot of peach fuzz down his back. His face is still clearing up too. Looks aside, he is such a lover! He loves to give kisses and hang out with his humans. He is great with his foster siblings (dogs of all sizes ranging from 10 pounds to 75 pounds - both male and female). He also ignores the resident cat for the most part. On occasion, he will see if Oscar wants to play but when Oscar hisses at him, Galileo backs off. Galileo has been working on crate training and he does extremely well with going into his crate when I tell him. He also keeps his crate clean (no potty accidents). He is still a puppy so he does like to chew on my hands still - not aggressive at all. He does jump on people and so this is still a work in progress. He is very treat motivated, so I think he would be successful with basic obedience training to help him be the best version of himself. Despite his rough start in life, he is such a good and loving little boy! He would be a great addition to your family! Apply today to meet this amazing pup and you will not be disappointed!November 26, 2024, 10:31 am
