Story
COURTESY POST PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY Meet Kip. He is a big, rough collie weighing 85 lbs. who will be 4 years old in May. He is a professional counter surfer and tailgater who believes everything should made into a game. Kip’s motto is a “tired dog is a good dog”. He thrives on tongue dragging games of fetch and long hikes in the woods. He loves to play with other dogs but he can sometimes overwhelm his playmates. Playmates his age with lots of energy and excellent doggy social skills with an owner that knows how to que him to disengage would be perfect. Kip must have a person who has strong and consistent positive dog training skills that can help him reach his full potential. Kip would make a good go anywhere and do anything companion if given the chance. He craves interaction with his person. Kip was abused as a puppy and unfortunately learned that the only way he could protect himself was to defend himself. He does have a bite history. His new owner or family cannot and should not physically “punish” or “discipline” him in any way. Absolutely no children. Kip is very food motivated which makes him very easy to train. Amazingly he has no food aggression or resource guarding. He is not destructive when left in the house and does not have any separation anxiety. He might “mark” in a new home and he can get a bit “nippy” and “yippy” when excited like herding dogs can and he needs continued training to keep “all 4 on the floor”. Like all dogs, Kip thrives on a quiet, stable homelife with a predictable schedule. He is happiest sleeping near his person. The following are non-negotiable requirements: Kip requires a home with another young, active, large dog. A place with lots of land no neighbors and a fenced in yard is a must. You must own your own house and be within 3 hours of central Vermont. If interested please go to www.journeyanimalrescue.org to submit an application. Only once the application is approved will a meet and greet with all human and canine family members be set up. Adoption fee is 450.

Story
Rex is a young dog who has already lived a lifetime’s worth of hardship—and somehow came out the other side with a gentle soul and an open heart. For much of his first year, Rex lived tied out in the woods with a homeless couple, missing out on everything a puppy should know: safety, structure, and the comfort of belonging. Now, at just barely one year old, he’s finally getting his chance at having a good life that does not include a tieout and living in the woods homeless.    This handsome Corgi mix weighs 25 pounds, with a compact, active build and a few healthy pounds still to gain. He sports the most expressive upright ears, short Corgi legs, a long body, and a gorgeous, fluffy tail reminiscent of a Border Collie. His coat is soft and flowing, and his energy is joyful and contagious once he feels safe. Rex is friendly with other dogs and naturally polite in his interactions. When meeting new people, he approaches gently with a submissive posture, ears back at first—then slowly lifting as his confidence grows. He’s still learning how to walk on a leash and is being introduced to basic commands and manners for the very first time and he’s proving to be a quick learner who genuinely wants to please. Because Rex missed out on early training, he will need an adopter who understands young dogs and enjoys helping one grow into his potential. With consistency and positive guidance, Rex could shine in agility, flyball, or other interactive dog sports. More than anything, he’s a dog who wants to work with his person and be part of a family.  Rex is ready to leave survival behind and step into a life filled with love, guidance, and belonging. If you’re looking for a loyal, family-oriented dog and are willing to help shape his future, Rex may be the one you’ve been waiting for.   To learn more about adopting Rex, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Rocky’s story began when he was found in a very rural front yard—hungry, alone, but unbelievably sweet from the very first moment. He was taken to the local small town shelter for safety, but an experienced foster took one look at his sweet face and knew this boy needed more than a shekter kennel. She saw something special in him… and she was right. Rocky is a smart and striking 5-month-old Red Heeler mix, about 24 pounds, with the most adorable freckles and an expression that melts hearts instantly. He is affectionate and loves to snuggle just as much as he loves to run and play outside. Rocky enjoys his chew toys and, like most puppies, may occasionally snag a sock or blanket—but he’s doing wonderfully learning what’s his and what’s not. He does great in his crate, is progressing nicely with house training, and is eager to please. He plays well with other dogs and has been around cats in his foster home—curious but respectful, never aggressive. Rocky responds well to gentle verbal correction and truly wants to do the right thing. And when he wakes up? He has the sweetest little yawn that will make you smile every single time. This loving, highly intelligent puppy is ready to grow into a loyal, lifelong companion. If you’re looking for a best friend who will stick by your side for years to come, Rocky may be your perfect match. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting Rocky. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Out on a quiet country road in rural Tennessee, a tiny red dog stood guard over her six fragile, four-week-old puppies. Dumped without care and left to face the unthinkable, this brave little momma did the only thing she knew to do — she protected her babies with everything she had.   That beautiful girl is Red Sedona.   By what can only be described as a miracle, a kind passerby spotted the small family huddled together and stopped. Carefully lifting them into the truck, momma and babies rode to safety on the floorboard, leaving behind a fate that could have ended so differently. Because of that moment of compassion, Red Sedona and her six puppies were given a second chance.   At just 25 pounds, Red Sedona is a petite Red Heeler with a delicate frame and the most soulful eyes. She may be small, but her heart is mighty. She fiercely protected her puppies on that roadside, somehow keeping them safe from harm. And now, with her babies out of danger, her gentle and affectionate nature is shining through. She is one of the sweetest little girls you could ever meet — tender, devoted, and incredibly smart.   Sedona has been a remarkable mother, attentive and loving, always watching over her babies as if she would step in front of anything to keep them safe. She is good with other dogs, young, and ready to start the next chapter of her life. Once her milk has dried up a bit more, she will be spayed and ready for her forever home around March 10th.   Her six puppies — four boys and two girls — will also be ready for loving homes soon. This little family deserves Heeler-savvy homes that understand the loyalty, intelligence, and devotion this breed is known for.   Red Sedona has done her job. She saved her babies. Now it’s her turn to be cherished, protected, and loved for the rest of her life.   If you feel called to welcome Momma Red Sedona or one of her precious puppies into your home, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   Let’s make sure this brave little girl’s story ends the way it should — safe, loved, and finally home.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 7, 2026, 12:24 pm
