Story
Meet Dai Mar – The Gentle Gentleman with a Playful Spark! Age: 12 years (13 in August) | Breed: Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog Mix Weight:    66 lbs | Adoption Fee: $375 | Neutered: Yes Don’t let his age fool you— Dai Mar may be a senior in years, but he still has the heart (and play drive!) of a much younger pup. This sweet, easygoing guy loves squeaky toys, a good game of tug-of-war, and—most of all—being near his people. He’s the kind of companion who’ll be by your side through thick and thin, offering loyalty, love, and the occasional goofy grin. Dai Mar is friendly with everyone he meets, including other dogs, cats, and respectful kiddos. He’s potty trained with a regular routine but does have an occasional accident, hasn’t needed to be crated, preferring to spend his time near the people he loves. While he's mostly agile, he occasionally needs a little help going up and down steps—but he’s still active and enjoys moving around. He is a vocal guy when it comes to unexpected noises, so a quiet, calm home would suit him best. If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted friend with a golden heart and a playful streak, Dai Mar might be the perfect match for you. He’s ready to bring joy, love, and companionship into a home that will treasure him as much as he’ll treasure you. Ready to meet Dai Mar? Apply today and give this sweet senior the cozy, love-filled home he deserves. A s a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us. Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.)  Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine.  $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.   Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience.  We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation.  Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days.  Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. Story
Hi there! I'm Khalie. My favorite hobby is hugging people. Not sitting next to them. Not politely leaning on them. Actual hugs. I take my job very seriously. I have what I would call "moderate athlete" energy. I'd love a nice walk in the morning, another in the afternoon, and plenty of time to explore a yard. Toys, however, are largely beneath me. I do have exactly ONE toy that I like, and I carry it back to my crate every chance I get. Why do I love that toy and ignore all others? That's between me and the toy. When I want attention, I gently nudge your hand for pets. When that doesn't work, I upgrade to hugs. It's a highly effective system. New people are a bit scary for me, and I do take time to warm up. My idea of playtime is refreshingly simple: a nice walk or relaxing with a bully stick in my crate. I don't need elaborate entertainment. I'm a minimalist. One thing that makes my foster family laugh? Occasionally I still believe stairs are meant to be launched from rather than walked down. Why take the boring route when you can add a little drama? I've been working very hard on my house-training skills. In my previous home, I learned some habits that weren't exactly ideal, but I'm catching on quickly and making great progress. I sleep quietly in my crate all night, do wonderfully when kenneled, and I'm learning commands like sit and stay. Basically, I'm trying very hard to earn my "best girl" diploma. I prefer to enjoy my meals and treats without other dogs crowding my personal dining space. When food is involved, I appreciate having my own area, so I happily eat and enjoy treats in my crate. I've never had an issue with people handling my food—this is strictly a "please respect my bubble, fellow dogs" situation. If there are resident dogs in the home, I would do best with a laid-back, non-confrontational dog closer to my size. Most of all, I'm looking for patient people who will let me settle in at my own pace, appreciate my unique hobbies, and accept that hugs are going to be part of the relationship. Trust me—you'll get used to it. 💛🐾

Story
Bruno is 7 months old. I bought him off of Facebook from a rural couple who had bread their Australian shepherds. Bruno had (unknowingly) double ear infections and worms when I brought him home. We got him dewormed, treated his ears and he is up to date on shots. He is an itchy boy, likely seasonal allergies and has received an allergy shot.Looking for a home educated in high energy breeds, without cats, and probably without young children. Bruno loves our kids, but can fixate on them when they’re playing or if they’re crying.Although he does well with them, I do believe he would be a calmer dog without small children.Bruno does not get along well with our 10 year old cat. He gets very fixated on her. Typical hearding breed behaviors. He believes she should be on the counter and is vigilant to ensure she stays there.Bruno’s medical needs just include being aware of his itch and getting allergy shots as needed

Story
Meet Buddy Boy! Buddy Boy enjoys the great outdoors! He can usually be found chasing a four-wheeler or napping under a tree. He would love to be someone's running buddy! He doesn't know any specific commands but looks to his humans for direction and will listen when you speak to him. Buddy Boy is potty trained and will hop by the door when he needs to go. He is also kennel trained and will go in when he knows you're getting ready to leave. He likes the occasional bite of steak from his humans. Buddy Boy has done well with older kids and other dogs. He has not met cats or young children. All introductions to new places and faces should be done slowly. His previous home described him and friendly, smart, and loyal. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals.
