Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxMeet Finn Finn is an 8-year-old, 50-lb mellow guy who loves napping, short walks, and hanging out near his people. He enjoys toys (especially if treats are involved!), can be cuddly, and also appreciates his personal space. Finn is anxious around loud noises and reactive when he sees other dogs, so he’s looking for a quiet home where he can be the only pet. He hasn’t lived with cats but has ignored chickens. He greets people calmly outside the home and politely “announces” visitors with a bark. He does best with a predictable routine and would thrive in a home where someone is around more often—his current home’s 12-hour shifts are just too hard on him. Respectful children are fine. Finn is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and eats a prescription urinary diet. If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back companion, Finn is ready to meet you.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Name: Daira Age: Puppy DOB: 10/18/25 Gender: female Breed: Border Collie/ Labrador Retriever mix Weight: 35 lbs Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: yes Child friendly: yes House trained: in progress, puppy Crate trained: in progress, puppy Energy level: Moderate Temperament: sweet, snuggly, docile, easygoing, loyal Requirement: Not rental appropriate Adoption Fee: $525+tax To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html Hi there! I’m Daira, a sweet Border Collie and Labrador Retriever mix puppy with a heart as big as my paws. I’m new to Minnesota and still discovering all the exciting things about being an indoor pup. My distinct white-tipped front paws and question mark tail are my signature markings and make me different from my sister. For most of my young life, I lived outside on my own, so every cozy new experience now feels extra special and exciting to me. I’m a curious little explorer at heart — I love sniffing out new corners, chasing a bouncy toy, or investigating a new sound. I also have a soft, cuddly side and adore curling up on a warm bed or snuggling on the couch for quiet time with my people. Sometimes I’ll nuzzle in close just to make sure I’m part of whatever is happening, and I always appreciate gentle pets and love-filled attention. I get along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, and I have a calm, friendly nature that makes it easy for me to bond with new friends. I’m still learning house training and crate training, but I’m making steady progress and respond well to patience, structure, and positive encouragement. I enjoy short walks, play sessions, and discovering new sights and smells, and I’m looking forward to learning even more as I grow. I dream of a family who will share life’s adventures with me — from playing in the yard, going on safe walks, learning new tricks, to quiet evenings curled up together. I’m loyal, loving, and full of potential, and I want a home where I can be a true part of the family, sharing love, laughter, and lots of cuddles along the way. Please complete an application so that we can meet one another!        February 19, 2026, 12:56 pm

I have spent most of my life outdoors, so indoor living is still new to me—but I’m catching on fast and discovering just how amazing warm blankets, cozy naps, toys, and love can be. I’m an explorer at heart and love checking out my surroundings, though loud noises can still startle me a bit. I enjoy sniffing, investigating new corners, and chasing toys, but I also love quiet snuggle time with my people. I’m dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and kid-friendly, and I respond well to gentle guidance and positive reinforcement. I’m learning indoor potty training and crate training, and I’m eager to please and quick to learn new things. You’ll recognize me by my beautiful black coat with unique brown highlights and my adorable back toes dipped in white. I’m full of love, curiosity, and potential, and I’m excited to find my forever home where I can feel safe, happy, and truly part of the family. Could that be with you? If you are interested in meeting me, please fill out an application. I look forward to meeting you!  February 19, 2026, 12:56 pm
