I’m a gentle, dignified girl who has been through a lot in my life. I spent time on the streets caring for my puppies all on my own, so now that I’m safe, warm, and well-fed, I’m learning how to truly relax. Every day my sweet personality and quiet confidence continue to shine a little more. I’m completely house trained, very polite with my food, and I don’t chew on anything that isn’t mine. I love every person I meet, walk calmly on a leash, and ride quietly in the car. New situations can make me a bit cautious, but if I trust my humans and they stay by my side, I’m brave enough to follow them anywhere. I’m a mellow, go-with-the-flow kind of girl. Most of my day is spent napping, following my person from room to room, enjoying mealtimes, and soaking up cuddles. I love being invited into your space and will gently tuck my nose under your hand if I’d like a few more pets. If you ask me to move along, I’ll politely do so and settle nearby. I even enjoy being brushed! Toys aren’t really my thing — I’m far too refined for such silliness — but I do enjoy a good meaty bone outside. Because of my past, I need to be the only dog in the home and don’t like sharing food-related items. In return, I promise to be the easiest, sweetest companion you could ask for. When you walk through the door, I’ll sit like a lady and do a tiny tippy-toe dance while I wait for proper greetings. I smile in my sleep, wag my tail in happy circles, and somehow manage to steal the hearts of everyone I meet. I’m a soulful senior lady looking for a soft, quiet place to land — a peaceful home with patient, loving people who will cherish me as much as I’ll cherish them. If you’re ready for a calm, affectionate best friend with a heart full of gratitude, I’m ready to fill your life with warmth and gentle love. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and rec ommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. Tedah is from a local impound. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
