Story
Location: Jackson, MN Hi, I'm Cristina! I'm a loving pup. I love the chew on bones and toys. I'm still working on potty training. I like to go on walks and pull occasionally when walking. I like to play with other dogs and get along well with them. Cats, on the other hand I like to chase and don't quite know how to get along with. I'm doing well with crate training but like to wake up early morning and bark as I need to go outside. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD Sweet, sweet Iris is looking for her forever home! She is a 5 month old pup that is quickly learning that rescue is pretty cool! She is working on potty training and learning commands. She is also getting used to time in her kennel. I am unsure of the dog breeds she is mixed with but has a full coat that is just the softest! She also has many Golden Retriever mannerisms- loves belly rubs, placing her paw on you, and looking at you with the most adoring eyes! She is a smart girl and training should go quickly! If you want the best cuddle buddy- Iris is your girl! ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Murdo, SD Hello! My name is Phoenix! I'm a happy go lucky puppy who loves to play with toys! I love my foster brothers and sister! Both animal and human! My foster mom says I'm a such a silly boy! I love to snuggle on the couch and hang out! Rolling around in the grass with a toy in my mouth is my favorite pastime! I'm a little nervous so I'd do best with a family who understands I need a little time to relax and get to know you before I come out of my shell. I'm doing great with crate training and potty training and my mom says I have such good manners for a little guy! -------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxHazel aka Peggy Lee aka 'Shawty' when we're Joking around, is a smart and spirited mix of maybe beagle, herding breed, and judging solely by some of her entertaining vocalizations, sea lion and Tasmanian devil. She seems to be always thinking and noticing. She may come off as a little standoffish at first, but as she warms up she loves a good belly rub and snuggle. She loves car rides and adventures, and would probably be a happy boating dog.    Her place at night is at the foot of my bed, but only after my other foster modeled the 'art' of co-sleeping with people for her. Hazel needs the company of another interactive dog in her home to help her know how to trust people. She is overly obsessive of cats, and very vocal, so she needs a cat-free home. Hazel really is a special kind of dog who is just what someone out there is seeking. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $550 plus taxHi! My name is Duncan and I am a spunky boy! It did take me a while to get to be this comfortable and spunky though. I was pretty nervous for almost a full week in my new foster home, but with the help of my foster doggie brothers and the patience of my foster parents, I've learned that humans aren't scary and hands can be gentle. I play really well with the other dogs and I like to play wrestle, chase, and tug-o-war. My foster home has these potty bells by the stairs and I'm supposed to ring them when I need to go, but I'm still learning. I just get so excited when I'm playing, that I forget! One place I never potty though is my kennel. I like to keep my kennel clean! I'm really good at going into my kennel when the humans in my house leave for work, and I also sleep in my kennel at night. Just say, 'kennel!' and I'll walk right in. I get a biscuit every time! The humans say I have to sleep in my kennel until I'm potty trained. When I'm out of my kennel and playing, I like to run and give kisses to my humans! They let me snuggle and play on the bed and getting belly rubs is amazing! Sometimes I fall asleep in the human bed at my foster mom's feet and I have to get carried to the kennel at bed time. It's important to know that my past is not fully known, and I do get nervous around new people and new places and I take a while to warm up. I stayed at a vacation foster for a couple nights and I hid behind the living room chair when we were inside - I just wasn't sure! But if you choose me to be your forever, just know I need some time but I will be your best friend once I know for sure you're safe. Speaking of safe, it would be best for me to have a doggie sibling to learn from and help me feel comfortable! I'm still kinda scared of the leash, but a harness could work much better for me! I have cat siblings at my foster home, and I'm usually OK with them, but I do like to chase sometimes and try to play with them like I do the dogs. If my new family has cats, just remember to be patient with me as I'm still a baby and learning all things dog. I just know I'll be a great addition to your family! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) for an Adoption Event on Sunday April 28th 10:30-11:30 am. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hey there, I'm Ivory, your potential new best friend! I'm a Shepherd Mix, a 45lb puppy with a heart full of love. At home, I'm a bundle of joy—I love to play and cuddle. Kids are my favorite playmates, and after a day of fun, I'll happily snuggle up with them for belly rubs and kisses.   I could be your one and only, soaking up all the attention, but I also get along great with other dogs, especially if they're up for a good play session. Crating isn't my favorite; I'd rather be spreading my love with a WFH human and in a forever home with no shared walls (bark bark). My favorites? Give me any stuffies, squeaky toys, or anything we can use for a game of keep away, and I'm in doggy heaven. I'm doing great with potty training and am good about going outside. While I'm not a fan of the crate (I might bark a bit), I'm a pro on a leash, responding to commands like Sit, Down, and Come. Here's the scoop: I'm the best doggo, according to my foster family. They'd keep me if they could. I'm incredibly sweet, fantastic with everyone, and my fluffy coat makes me the perfect snuggly friend! Ready for adventures? I'm your girl! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Location: Maple Grove, MN Tesla arrived to rescue terrified and pregnant. Unfortunately her puppies did not survive, but now she is loving all that life has to offer in her foster home. Once she learned what it felt like to snuggle with her humans on the couch, she quickly realized it's her favorite thing in the world, and she will leap from across the room when she sees her foster family sit down on the couch - ready for their love. Tesla loves her people, and wants nothing more than love and affection from her family. She is constantly trying to get hugs and snuggles from her foster family (canine and human), and it is so sweet. She lives with 2 kids, ages 8 and 13, and she is great with them and their friends. However, she is uncomfortable with little kids that do not respect her boundaries. (I.e. Toddlers that climb on dogs and put their face in hers is not going to be a fit.) But she does wonderful with kids that demonstrate appropriate dog behavior - letting her approach them, and giving her time to build trust with them. She loves going on walks, and playing with her toys. Her first year of life was spent tied up to the outside of a house, so it is a natural instinct to protect her people and herself. On walks, she can be a bit protective of her family, so it's important to continue leash training to control her reactions. She is extremely treat motivated, and does a wonderful job when we work with her on it! She is relaxed, with medium energy overall, sleeping most of the day while her foster family works. She is potty trained, and kennel trained. She is silent in her kennel overnight, but does have some opinions to express during the day when alone sometimes, so shared walls may not be the right fit for her. Tesla enjoys playing with other dogs as long as she is given slow introductions. Her foster home has 4 other dogs, and she does great with all of them, after a very slow introduction period. Tesla shows a lot of interest in small critters, so we recommend no cats in her forever home. If you are looking for a pet that loves her people fiercely, check out sweet Tesla. She will fill you up with all her love! ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD Bo is an outgoing goofy guy. He loves all people and does great with cats and dogs! He loves going for walks and running around in the yard with his foster brothers. Bo is completely kennel trained. And almost completely house broken (with an occasional accident). Bo is currently working on some tricks but is an expert at sitting, he is very treat motivated. Bo has a moderate energy level and although he does love to run around and play he would also love to nap on the couch with his people. Bo has been looking for his forever home since he was 5 weeks old, he is now 6 months old! There's no reason this sweet boy hasn't been adopt yet. He would make the perfect addition to almost any home! ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Vermillion, SD Hi! I'm really excited to meet you! Will you give me tummy scritches? I'm Laurel and I like to take long walks.... well... to anywhere. I also like to run too! Maybe we could be jogging buddies? I'm getting really good at this leash thing but squirrels look mighty fun to run after. I don't seem to be interested in chasing a ball or Frisbee though. I will, however, take whatever plushie chew toy you give me and be pretty happy! I seem to be pretty chill about other dogs once I get to know them but I will let you know if there are any shady ones walking by the house. I'm a pretty active gal, want to be my gym partner? ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
