Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in adopting, read about our Adoption Process and complete an Adoption Application on the Mo-Kan website.  A Mo-Kan application must be filled out to begin the process.(Sending an "Inquiry" via Petfinder does not constitute an application.)   Oscar is about 2 years old, neutered and up to date in all vaccinations. He came to MOKan after being chained outside without regular access to food and water. He’s now enjoying learning what it’s like to be a loved family member! He is good with women and men and did well when he met a 13 yo girl. He has not been around small kids or cats in his foster home. He does jump up on people to greet them, usually gently unless he’s super excited, so may not be best with small children. He’s working on his manners in his foster home and doing great so far! Oscar should have a fenced yard so he doesn’t bound away on an adventure. This sweet boy doesn’t seem to have much herding instinct, so breed knowledge isn’t necessary. He is good with both of his foster dog siblings, but his play style is rambunctious. He’d benefit from a playful dog friend who is tolerant of his goofy bouncy antics. He’s very puppy-like, nibbles when he plays, running and jumping with enthusiasm (not precision). Loves chewing on bones but is still figuring out what toys are all about. He will carry a tennis ball around for awhile but hasn’t quite figured out what else to do with it. Oscar knows sit, and goes in his kennel easily for feeding and when the humans leave the house. At night he sleeps on a dog bed on the floor or on the humans’ bed and does well with either. He is very sweet and affectionate, and would love to be a lap dog. He’s your constant companion and is very helpful with chores. If you need a dishwasher supervisor, Oscar is your man. Going to the bathroom, he’s going with! Taking a shower, he’ll be waiting for you, sticking his nose in to lick the water if he can and then helpfully licking the water off your legs. His coat is rough in places and soft in others, and will require regular brushing to prevent mats. He tolerates brushing and was recently professionally groomed and did well. Oscar is being fostered in the Kansas City, MO area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 22, 2025, 10:57 am
