Chou Chou is a 5 year old tri-color Border Collie with a loving & playful personality. He’s extremely smart, focused, and high energy. Playtime is his absolute favorite part of the day. Is there anything better? Not according to Chou Chou!  Balls, discs, sticks, anything is game. He’s even proficient at carrying two toys at once! Someone with breed experience that can keep up with his energy would be ideal. When toys are out of the question, he is a big love bug. He enjoys giving hugs, receiving belly rubs, and serving as a foot warmer. He loves all people but is best suited for a home where he is the only dog. Chou Chou would do best in a home with older or dog savvy children. Chou Chou is potty trained, crate trained, and enjoys car rides. He gets so excited to jump in for a ride! He’s a good eater and is learning to work for treats. He has exhibited resource guarding over his food once. Chou Chou enjoys walks but is working to improve his leash manners. Chou Chou is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He is ready to find an active, breed-savvy home to call his own. Chou Chou is being fostered in the Waynesville, MO area.Click here to watch a video of Chou Chou.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2026, 6:22 pm

Finn is a striking black-and-white Border Collie, around 1–2 years old and 50 lbs, who came into rescue as a stray. When he arrived, he was dealing with a significant skin infection and patchy hair loss, but with treatment and care, his coat is growing back beautifully and now shines with a healthy, glossy finish. Finn is a medium-high energy guy who ’ s looking for an adopter with Border Collie (or similar herding breed) experience. It ’ s clear he didn ’ t have much guidance early on and likely had to entertain himself, so he came to us as a bit of a blank slate. The good news? He ’ s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and thriving with structure and training. He ’ s currently living with two older female Border Collies in foster, and he absolutely loves having playmates to run, chase, and play ball with in the yard. He ’ d do great with another playful dog, but could also be happy as a solo pup as long as he gets plenty of engagement and activity. He loves fetch (still negotiating the “ bring it all the way back” part when playing one-on-one!) and plays gently, taking corrections well from his foster sisters. Finn hasn ’ t been tested with cats, but he is VERY interested in squirrels — so a home without small critters is likely best. He adores people and is learning good manners like keeping all four paws on the floor when greeting (he just gets so excited!). Because of his enthusiasm, a home with children 7+ would be the best fit. Training-wise, Finn has made amazing progress. He ’ s crate trained and happily trots in at mealtime to remind you it ’ s time to eat. He already knows sit, down, look, and come, and is working on wait and stay. He LOVES training sessions and is very treat-motivated. Walks are one of his favorite things, and he ’ s continuing to improve his leash skills while taking in all the sights and sounds of city life. Despite his playful energy, Finn does have an off switch. He ’ s happy to settle down, snuggle up on the floor, and shower you with hugs and kisses during movie time. (He ’ s still practicing keeping those four paws on the floor, so no furniture privileges just yet!) He also enjoys chewing on bones and playing with tough squeaky toys. Finn would thrive with an active family who will include him in adventures like hiking, camping, and long walks. He may even excel at activities like scent work. He ’ ll need continued positive reinforcement training to keep building his confidence and channel his intelligence in the right direction. Daily physical and mental exercise will be key to keeping this bright boy happy. Finn is up to date on vaccines, on preventatives, and neutered.  Does Finn sound like the perfect fit for your family? Apply to adopt him at MoKanbcrescue.org and come meet your new best friend! He ’ s currently being fostered in the Kansas City area.Click here to watch a video of Finn (2026).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2026, 6:22 pm

Bunny would probably make a great sport dog.  She is extremely fast and has legs that let her leap high into the air.  She has recently discovered frisbee play and is learning all the ins and outs of keeping up with the flying disc.  Bunny loves to explore the world and go on long sniffer walks.  These long, unstructured walks allow her lots of mental stimulation, a must if you want to have a calm home.  Bunny enjoys playing ball for a few minutes, but would rather race around the yard as the other dogs fetch the ball.  Fast would be an understatement for this girl.  She is up for trick training, but finds that difficult to focus in her foster home with four other dogs.  There is always something more exciting than silly tricks. Water is a favorite with this pup, especially after exercise.  Bunny loves exploring the lake, running through the water and the mud, flopping down in the wading pool, or chasing the hose. She is quite loving and will happily sit on a lap or on the floor for affection, once her energy and mental needs have been met.  Bunny has a nice off switch, settling in with a favorite chew toy or napping.   As she approaches bedtime, it is necessary for her to race around the backyard a couple of times to get out the last minute bugs. It takes Bunny a few minutes to warm up to new people and new things in her environment.  Once she is comfortable with someone, they will be her friends for life.  She is very enthusiastic when greeting people, so would be best for older children.  She is being fostered with a mini Aussie, so sometimes doesn’t understand that she is bigger, stronger, and more exuberant than her foster sister. While Bunny is great with other dogs and definitely needs a companion dog.  She is not good with cats, finding them to be very rewarding to chase.  She is not good with chickens or other small animals, like moles in the garden.  Bunny is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations.  She is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and has excellent recall. Bunny is being fostered in the Holden, MO area.Click here to watch a video of Bunny.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 17, 2026, 6:22 pm
