Story
A beautiful update from Sybil's foster :) ------ I've had Sybil for about two months now. She was with a foster who couldn't keep her anymore, so I met her immediately and knew she had a great temperament and was a good dog. It was definitely worth bringing her home and working with her. I have a kennel for the foster dogs, and they all have their own large yard. And man, is she having fun! She loves romping in her yard. She meets the other dogs when I walk them, prancing around as they go by her run. She is one happy dog. She has a good amount of energy but isn't hyper. She is doing great in my kennel. She is pretty good about staying calm and not joining in the barkfest when everyone else is excited. She's great with me and independent, but she likes her pats occasionally. She leans on my leg and sometimes falls over for belly rubs. When I clean her yard, she follows me around. She's not overly demanding, which I appreciate. She's going to make someone a very dedicated and fun friend. She's a good dog and will be even better and more stable when she leaves here. She's worth the effort and will be an excellent companion for some lucky person.

Meet Freckles — Red-Spotted, Smart, and Sweet-as-Pie Freckles is a 1 year, 2-month-old Cattle Dog/Pit mix with the cutest red freckles you’ve ever seen and a heart full of potential. She’s silly, smart, and secretly a snugglebug... once she trusts you. Nervous Nellie at first — new people and places make her shy, but give her time and patience, and you’ll unlock the most loyal little lovebug you’ve ever met.* Once she’s comfy, she’s: • A total lap dog• Can’t control her licker (seriously, brace for kisses!)• Treat and toy obsessed• Professionally trained – sit, down, stay, come, and even waits politely for her food ??• Crate trained and house-ready!!! A few things about our freckled friend:*Needs a secure fenced yard*No kids – too scary.*No cats – hard pass.VERY SCARY *Could be OK with a respectful, calm dog friend. Forward dogs are very scary. ??*Needs someone with herding breed or high-energy dog experience*Looking for an adventure buddy who’ll give her lots of enrichment and guidanceShe’s got that “nervous at first, best friend forever” energy — and if you’re patient and kind, Freckles will blossom into your shadow, your hiking pal, your snuggle partner, and your little ray of sunshine. ??Are you the one for her? Story
Meet Nina! Nina is a 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix whose story is full of strength and quiet resilience. She arrived at PAC on 5/20 after being surrendered, and just ten days later, she gave birth to a beautiful litter of puppies right here at the shelter. She was quickly moved into a foster home, where she proved to be a gentle, attentive, and devoted mom. All of her puppies have since been adopted, and now it’s finally Nina’s turn to find the loving home she deserves. Nina is a sensitive girl who can be nervous with loud noises and new environments, especially in a busy shelter setting. However, her time in foster care has done wonders for her. With a calm home, routine, and patient reassurance, Nina has begun to come out of her shell. She has grown more outgoing, her confidence is shining through more each day, and she has learned to seek comfort and connection from the people she trusts. She isn’t overly toy- or food-motivated, but she loves gentle affection and thrives in a low-traffic, peaceful household.Nina has also started participating in playgroups and has shown healthy, appropriate social behavior with other dogs. With Suki, she engaged in friendly, high-energy interaction. Suki tended to take more space and occasionally got on top of Nina, but after brief breaks, both girls continued playing appropriately and even shared a water bowl. With Choopy, Nina enjoyed a balanced 15–25 minute play session, taking turns chasing and being chased, mirroring each other’s movements, and keeping their open-mouth play well-matched and not too rough. She reads other dogs well and can enjoy respectful play with the right companions. After raising her puppies with love and growing so much during her time in foster care, Nina is ready for a patient, understanding family who will continue helping her blossom. She is a tender-hearted dog who just wants to feel safe, loved, and seen—now she’s hoping someone will choose her.
