Story
WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🧭🐾 Meet Journey — A Sweet Soul Ready to Find Her Way Home 🐾🧭 Journey is a 1-year-old, ~40-pound sweetheart who has spent her puppyhood waiting for something every dog deserves — a family of her own. Born into an unwanted litter, Journey and her siblings grew up without the comforts of home life: no cozy couches, no bedtime routines, and no humans calling her name just because they love her. Yet through it all, Journey’s heart remained gentle, hopeful, and full of love. Journey is friendly, affectionate, and playful, with a soft, loving nature that makes her impossible not to adore. She does great with other dogs and kids, and has a beautiful balance of curiosity and calm. She’s the kind of girl who will happily explore the world with you and then settle in close, just to be sure she’s exactly where she belongs. Her mom is a heeler/border collie mix around 40 lbs, and dad remains a mystery — a charming wanderer who passed along good looks and great genes. Whatever the mix, Journey inherited intelligence, athleticism, and a loyal heart that’s ready to bond deeply with her people. Journey would thrive with an active, loving family who enjoys walks, playtime, and adventures, but also values togetherness and connection. She’s eager to learn, ready to blossom, and so deserving of the life she’s been patiently waiting for. 🐕 Journey’s Details: ✅ 1 year old, ~40 lbs ✅ Sweet, affectionate, and people-oriented ✅ Great with dogs and kids ✅ Playful, gentle, and loyal ✅ Smart and eager to learn ✅ Waiting for her forever family Journey doesn’t need much — just a chance, a safe place to land, and someone willing to love her wholeheartedly. She’s ready to stop waiting and start living the beautiful life she deserves. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and help Journey finally find her way home. 🐾🧭

Story
A beautiful update from Sybil's foster :) ------ I've had Sybil for about two months now. She was with a foster who couldn't keep her anymore, so I met her immediately and knew she had a great temperament and was a good dog. It was definitely worth bringing her home and working with her. I have a kennel for the foster dogs, and they all have their own large yard. And man, is she having fun! She loves romping in her yard. She meets the other dogs when I walk them, prancing around as they go by her run. She is one happy dog. She has a good amount of energy but isn't hyper. She is doing great in my kennel. She is pretty good about staying calm and not joining in the barkfest when everyone else is excited. She's great with me and independent, but she likes her pats occasionally. She leans on my leg and sometimes falls over for belly rubs. When I clean her yard, she follows me around. She's not overly demanding, which I appreciate. She's going to make someone a very dedicated and fun friend. She's a good dog and will be even better and more stable when she leaves here. She's worth the effort and will be an excellent companion for some lucky person.

Story
I am available through HSMO’s Foster-to-Adopt program! I am being treated for heartworm disease, and because the treatment can take a few months, I am able to continue my treatment in your home, rather than stay in the shelter during that time. Once my treatment is over, we can finalize the adoption, making me a permanent member of your family. HSMO will provide all the food, medication, and veterinary care during the foster period, and the staff at HSMO is happy to answer any questions you might have about heartworms. You will need to bring me to the HSMO shelter to see the veterinarian as needed, and to avoid complications from the treatment, I need to be kept as quiet as possible. That means no rough housing or playing hard with people or other pets. I will need to be on leash outside at all times and can only take short, 15-minute walks three to four times a day. However, the good news is that once my treatment is over, I can run and play and be silly again! I am looking for a forever family or a family to love me until my forever family finds me. If you decide to fall head over heels in love and cannot part with me that is okay, too! Please call 314-951-1588 for more information!
