Story
Molly is a very pretty smaller girl at 48 lbs and about a year and a half old.  She definitely still has some puppy in her and loves to play with her foster brother and sister.  They are older than she is and occasionally have to remind her about appropriate play behavior.  She has learned quickly that her 13 year old foster sister has no interest in playing. She enjoys toys and tug-of-war and playing in what was likely her first snow.  She is housebroken, crate trained, walks well on a leash and loves attention but is still learning what "off" means.  She can be possessive of food but does just fine being fed in her crate.  She is up to date on her shots, microchipped, spayed and heartworm negative.  She will chase a squirrel in a second so probably needs to be in a home with no cats but would do well with another dog to play with.  We have not had her around children but so far she hasn't met a person she didn't like.  She'll need a family that will continue teaching her manners but you'll be rewarded with lots of love.  She would do well with an active family to keep her engaged and active. She has also been taught to sit before her bowl is put down and wait until you tell her "ok" before she eats.  She would make a good couch buddy if someone wanted.  A fenced yard is required.    Please apply at freedomcollierescue.org   ##2254780##

Story
Blake is just over a year old.  He is extremely friendly and outgoing! He’s very curious and gentle, great around kids and other animals including dogs, cats, and small animals (he gets along great with my parrot). Blake is house trained, and making great progress with his sit, stay, lay down, and recall. He loves to follow you around everywhere, play fetch and tug of war, sleep next to you, and cob on your arm. He is a pleasure to have around and always happy to see you, and would do best with a very active family that has lots of room for him to play and lots of love to give. A fenced yard is required.  If interested, please apply on line at freedomcollierescue.org   ##2336289##

Miss Vista is a wonderful nine year old Tri girl.  She is not a velcro dog, but she likes attention and will greet you at the door to say Hi. Vista has her very own bed, but at times will go in someone else's crate.  She is good on a leash and no signs of food aggression.  She does like a good cuddle.  Vista is potty trained and not a picky eater.  She gets along great with other collies and dogs and does well with children.  A fenced yard is required.  If interested in Vista, please apply at freedomcollierescue.org ##2302529##

Story
Handsome Leo is 18 months old and looking for a family of his own. He weighs in the mid 50’s now but will fill out to the low to mid 60 lb range. He will also grow his mature collie coat over the next year. He has beautiful naturally tipped ears. He is neutered and current on vaccinations. Leo was pulled from a shelter after being found as a stray so we don’t know much about his past. But it isn’t hard to figure out he was an ignored outside dog. He has been working to learn the “how to be adopted” rules and is now a very nice family dog. He is healthy, sweet, affectionate, and good with other dogs. He would do well with children over the age of toddler. He is house trained. He doesn’t care for the crate and will let you know he isn’t happy but will settle down and rest after a short time. He goes in easily with a treat. I provide him with plenty of safe chew toys and he hasn’t destroyed anything in the house. Leo would be happiest with a young, playful dog friend. If his owners are home most of the time and he has a good size yard to run around in, he would be fine as an only dog too. If he has a shortcoming it’s that he doesn’t jump into the car and must be lifted. His new family will need a strong back as this boy fills out. But once in the car, he rides very well. He is very outgoing and confident in the house but is frightened when we go places. He just hasn’t seen much of the world is all. His new family can work on socializing him if they want to take him places. If Leo sounds like your kind of collie, apply at houstoncollierescue.org.

Story
Hey there, I’m Bandit! I may have been abandoned by my last family, but I haven’t lost my love for people or my positive outlook. I’m a friendly, loyal guy who just wants to be part of a family that truly sees me and sticks by me. I’m great with other dogs, love meeting new people, and already have the basics down—potty trained, leash trained, and well-mannered. I’ve got just the right mix of energy and chill, making me a great match for adventures and couch time. I’m ready to leave the past behind and start a brand new life with someone who’s in it for the long haul. Think that might be you?
