Pretty Penny Penny is an 8-year-old female rough collie with the softest coat and the sweetest personality. She loves gentle pets, kind words, and someone who will tell her how beautiful and special she is several times a day. Penny is happiest simply being near her people and will quietly follow you from room to room, content to be your loyal sidekick. She is the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-maintenance collie who craves love and attention but doesn't need a lot of activity to be happy. As a senior girl, Penny moves at a slower pace and has some arthritis in her back legs, so she would thrive in a home that appreciates a laid-back lifestyle. She is currently on a fitness journey and has been steadily losing weight, which is improving her mobility every day. Penny enjoys short, leisurely walks and walks nicely on a leash. As an added bonus, she has no interest in jumping on furniture or greeting guests with muddy paws! Penny would prefer to be the only dog in her home. She socializes well with other dogs in neutral settings, such as on walks or in the backyard, but can be protective of her personal space when sharing a home with another dog. She is not possessive with people and absolutely loves human companionship. This sweet girl is incredibly people-oriented and has wonderful house manners. She is never destructive, enjoys spending time in her kennel, and can be left alone indoors for several hours without issue. Penny is looking for a family that understands the needs of a senior dog, including limited stairs, rugs or carpeting for secure footing, and a little help getting into the car when needed. Because of her mobility limitations, Penny would do best in a home with children over the age of six. She has not been cat-tested, but given her easygoing personality and low prey drive, we do not anticipate any issues. Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. What a character this girl is! Meet Daphne Daphne was heartbreakingly left behind by her owner after apparently being kept outside in the yard and no longer wanted. Despite everything, this beautiful girl has remained nothing but sweet, loving, and full of life. Daphne deserves a family who will truly cherish her, spend time with her, and show her what real love feels like. During our shelter pull, we noticed a note on her kennel card that had incorrect information on it. Of course, we had to see for ourselves — and Daphne completely proved that note wrong. She was absolutely PERFECT during her temp test. No aggression whatsoever, just a happy-go-lucky girl eager to make friends with every dog she met. We think Daphne is a Collie/Shepherd mix and she’s around 2 years old, maybe even younger. She is incredibly sweet, eager to please, and has such a fun personality. Olive is one of the calmest and shyest puppies you’ll ever meet. While she may seem very distant at first, she’ll showcase her true personality once you earn her trust. All she needs is personal space, time, patience, and lots of toys to chew on! On the first day she came to her foster home, she spent the whole evening hiding in the backyard and barely went near us. Now after a month, she’s shed her overly cautious demeanor. Her and her sister Junie are fully comfortable with us and super affectionate! Olive is crate and potty trained, however, she still highly dislikes leashes and refuses to walk on them. With more practice and positive reinforcement, she’ll get used to it in no time. Due to her shy nature, Olive’s transition into her forever home would be much easier if she had her sister Junie by her side. They love to spend time together and light up when they see each other, so being adopted as a pair would be best for them. Additionally, Olive’s favorite activity is play fighting and running around our yard with Junie. Olive is a very sweet and smart girl that anybody would be lucky to have as a companion (especially as a pair with her sister!!!). In comparison to her sister Olive, Junie is much more initially trusting and affectionate. She loves rubs and scratches and will approach you if she wants attention. However, she’s also shy like her sister and needs some time to get acclimated to new people and environments. She can be skittish and scared at times, but over time she’ll get more and more cuddly. Junie is potty trained but struggles with sleeping through the night sometimes. Additionally, she also doesn’t know how to walk on her leash properly yet, but she’s been learning and has made very good progress so far. Due to her shy nature, Junie’s transition into her forever home would likely be much easier if she had her sister Olive by her side. Sophie is an 11 year old, 70lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. It breaks my heart to write this, but I’m looking for the perfect forever home for my sweet girl. She is one of the most loving, affectionate, and playful dogs you could ever meet. She absolutely loves being around her person and will follow you everywhere. If you’re sitting down, she wants to be next to you. If you’re walking around, she’s right behind you. Honestly, she wants to be up your ass 24/7 😂❤️ — she just loves her people that much. She loves to play, cuddle, get attention, and be involved in whatever you’re doing. She has a huge personality and an even bigger heart. Unfortunately, my work requires me to travel far too much, and I’ve realized that it isn’t fair to her. She deserves someone who can give her the time, attention, exercise, and love she needs. This is NOT an easy decision. She is a GORGEOUS Border Collie/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix or Tri-Colored Rhodesian Ridgeback. Her personality is true to her breed! Xena's foster mom and dad have 3 other dogs that she likes to play with and share toys with, but she has also learned to be by herself. Her foster mom says she needs an active family with another dog or multiple dogs. Xena needs room to run to get her energy out. She likes going for long walks and exploring the wilderness. Xena sleeps with her foster mom and dad in bed with all the other dogs. It gets a bit crowded but she does love sleeping with the pack. This makes her feel safe. Xena does not like to be in a kennel or crate. So, a family that is at home would be ideal.She likes eating ice cubes! Xena says 'When mom gives me fresh water in a bowl she puts in extra ice cubes for me. That makes me feel special and loved.' Xena loves riding in a vehicle and knows not to jump around and act like a baby.She can walk on a leash pretty well as long as she has her harness on; Xena is not a fan of collars. She also knows a few commands like “stay”, “no” and “potty”.Xena will bark at strangers until she gets to know them. Her foster dad has taught her to fetch. She loves chasing the ball and bringing it back, it’s the letting it go part that she has a hard time with BECAUSE she also loves to play tug of war. Xena is also a fan of the Laser Light. She thinks they are fascinating!Xena is Special Needs because if and when she gets too excited she has seizures. The vet attributes this to a blow to the head as a puppy.
