Story
Hello Seamus! (pronounced Shamus) Seamus is a smooth tri collie approximately 6 years old and about 55 pounds. He came to HCR from a hoarding situation of neglect. He has come a long way with his foster mom learning trust and love. Seamus is happiest outside, running freely and barking greetings to neighboring kitties, kids, and doggies! His favorite place is chillin’ on the sofa. He can be a bit goofy playing with toys, and seeking attention and love with sweet little nose taps. He does well on a leash and short walks. He also enjoys car rides. Seamus’ perfect home would be a peaceful adult home with another calm playful dog to continue to give him confidence. Seamus loves other dogs and is just the sweetest boy! He is shy and will need a little patience and understanding to gain trust with his new owner. Seamus will make the right person a wonderful loving companion. Local adoptions only. Apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org. Texas applicants only.

Story
Dollie is a two year old sweetie. Always close by and ready to get her head scratched. Super friendly and chill. We don't think she'd been on to many car rides but she is getting more practice. It also didn't appear that she'd gone up or down many flights of stairs when she first came in, but she's a pro now! Great on a leash, comes when she's called. She's part Collie and part Husky and has those gorgeous Husky eyes. Her fur also seems more Husky-like than Collie-like. No guarantees but we don't think she sheds much--not like our Collies! She gets along great other 2 dogs in her foster home.  Dollie hasn't been around cats to our knowledge, but she's very laid back, so we'd expect she'd do fine. Couldn't find a friendlier dog!  We are taking applications for her. A fenced yard is required.  Please apply at freedomcollierescue.org ##1989406##

Story
Lexie is a such a sweet collie girl.  She is 8 years old.  She loves attention and to be loved on.  She gets along well with other dogs, but she has not been around cats so that is unknown.  Lexie likes to be groomed and behaves well when there.  She is housetrained and up-to-date on her shots.  She also has not been around small children, so that is unknown also, but based on her personality, we imagine she would love them.  Lexie does have a little age related stiffness, so joint supplements are a must.  Lexie would be the perfect collie for a retired person(s).  A fenced yard is required.  Please apply at freedomcollierescue.org ##2089901##

Story
Meet Peach! Peach is a delightful 8-month-old to 1-year-old pup weighing in at a petite 44 lbs. She’s a sweet and tangy little thing, with a heart full of love! Miss Peach is already making strides in her manners—she’s crate trained and housebroken. She knows commands like “sit” and “wait,” and she’s eagerly learning more. Peach is a true cuddlebug who thrives on human companionship. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch or going for a run, she’s happiest when she’s by your side. While she prefers to be the only dog in the household, Peach coexist peacefully with cats. Her favorite pastimes include cuddles, chasing after grasshoppers, and playing fetch with her beloved ball. Ready to add a dash of sweetness to your life? Come meet Peach today! A fence yard is required  Apply at freedomcollieescue.org ##2077040##

Story
Kayli is a little velcro pup that is quick to wag her tail and give you a smile. She is 4 years old, loves to give you her paw and will crawl gently into your lap for a hug if you let her. She absolutely adores love and affection and is one of the sweetest little collie girls you will ever meet. She has only shown mild interest in playing, but we imagine she would enjoy playing and learning more about toys and having fun once she is given the chance to fully enjoy them. She walks well on a leash and is a fast learner, quickly picking up anything asked of her. She is house and potty trained and does well in a crate. She gets along great with other dogs, big or small, but she definitely wants to be the center of attention. Her previous owner said she was good with cats but we have no way to confirm that. This little girl is an absolute heart stealer and she wants nothing more than to love and be loved. Kayli has gone through heartworm treatment, and she will be safely spayed prior to final adoption.  A fenced yard is required.  Apply at Freedomcollierescue.org ##2127131##

Meet Fletch! This handsome man was surrendered when his previous owner could no longer care for him. She stated he is potty-trained and well-behaved in the house (not destructive when left alone), and has done well with cats previously. We believe Fletch would do best in a home with older children. Fletch already knows some basic commands is does well in his kennel at the shelter. Are you looking for a fluffy family member like Fletch? He's waiting for you!

Story
Meet Cody! This guy is just about as chill as they come! Despite his breed's rambunctious notoriety, Cody is quite content lounging about quietly and accepting drive-by treats from GIHS staff and volunteers. Cody is potty-trained (even whining when he has to go out) and has done well in the yard around other dogs - allowing polite sniffs with a tail wag and then going back to his business. But don't worry, Cody isn't all couch potato - he loves to run and do zoomies when encouraged, making him the perfect dog for any lifestyle! Are you looking for a fluffy companion who will match a family of any level of energy? Netflix and chill AND going for a run on the beach? Look no further than our sweet boy Cody! He is waiting to meet you!
