Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Rusty is one of the cutest and most submissive dogs we have, and we thought we would have no trouble finding him a home. When he was diagnosed with heartworm, however, we wanted to treat him first so he would be able to play and fit nicely into a home. He is fortunate to have been selected for foster care by one of our devoted, foster families, and she has determined to see him through his treatment. He is the handsomest beagle mix you can imagine, about 35 pounds, and a real love with other dogs. He is also excellent with kids and ignores the cats he sees. He's doing well at his foster home but would love a home of his own.   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 28, 2026, 9:39 am

Bella What a fun dog this girl is turning out to be! Bella is definitely all puppy when it comes to frolicking and playtime — she loves to bounce, explore, and enjoy every moment. But what makes her truly special is how mild-mannered and sweet she is at heart. She’s incredibly considerate of both people and other dogs, showing a natural gentleness that’s rare in such a young pup. Bella is truly a gentle soul. She has that perfect balance of playful energy and calm affection that makes her an ideal companion for a family. Whether it’s joining you on an adventure or relaxing by your side, she’s ready to be your loyal partner through it all. And let’s be honest — being absolutely adorable is a pretty big bonus too. If you’re looking for a devoted best friend with a playful spirit and a loving heart, Bella may just be the one.
