Story
🌼 Meet Layla, the Collie Extraordinaire! 🐾Foster Virginia Beach Move over, Lassie—there’s a new queen in town! Layla is a stunning 4.5-year-old Collie with a heart full of sunshine and a tail that never stops wagging. Rescued with love, she’s now ready to find her perfect forever home—but it has to be just right. Layla is incredibly loving, loyal, and sensitive. She’s what we call a Velcro dog—she wants to be by your side, your shadow, your snuggle buddy. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to sleep in your bedroom and follow you from room to room, she’s your girl. If you prefer more space or crates…she’s not. 💔 Layla has lost two homes due to her people falling ill, and the stress of separation weighs heavily on her. Because of this, we have strict requirements to ensure her next family is her forever. ✅ Layla’s Non-Negotiables: No children under 5. She loves kids, but toddlers are too much. Fully fenced yard. No exceptions! Someone home full-time or extremely limited part-time (no more than 4 hours away, one day a week max). If you work outside the home, you must already have another friendly dog for companionship—and your current dogs must be free-roaming in the house (no crating during the day). If you work part-time and have multiple small children but no other dog, we will not consider the home. Layla is not destructive, but she does not do well being left alone. She requires daily leisurely walks—yes, even in the rain! ☔ Her family must show the financial ability to maintain professional grooming every 6–8 weeks. If you or anyone in your household is currently facing a major illness or health crisis, unfortunately, Layla is not the right dog for your situation. (We’re not talking about manageable conditions like diabetes—we mean anything that could cause future instability in the home.) Layla is the kind of dog who will bring joy and comfort to the right home—she just needs a family who’s truly ready for the responsibility of loving a deeply bonded, affectionate Collie who will give you her whole heart. 💖 She’s spayed, up to date on shots, and recently had a dental. She lives for cuddles, walks, and being part of the family. 📍 Fostered in Virginia Beach 🌍 Adopters must live within 2 hours of Virginia Beach 💌 Apply at www.coastalsheltierescue.org 📩 Please message our Facebook page privately with any questions! If you're ready to share your heart, your couch, and your schedule with a loving, loyal Collie—Layla is waiting. 🐾✨

Story
Luke came from a rural shelter where he was surrendered.  He is 8 yrs old and has been chained most of his life- he has a permanent bald ring around his neck from the chain.  Despite that, he is a sweet boy who is learning to be an inside dog.  He is learning to calm himself by going into his crate when he feels overwhelmed.  He has taken a great liking to his foster dad and will get into his lap to calm himself.  Luke will be starting heart worm treatment soon and will be available at the end of the treatment.  He needs a 6 ft privacy fenced and a family with older respectful kids as he can be too much for little ones when he gets the zoomies.  We don't think he would be good with cats because he shows too much interest in those outside.  He needs a family who is willing to be patient with him and show him what a loving family is and one who will always take good care of him.  If you are looking for a sweet boy who desperately wants to be part of someone's family and are willing to be patient and love him unconditionally, please contact Rainbow Rescue at :  rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.com or call at 757-472-1583May 16, 2026, 12:12 am
