Story
Meet Ranger! Ranger is approximately 7 months old and is thought to be heinz-57 mix! He's roughly 45lbs and has qualities of a possible terrier and/or herding breed type, but we cannot know for sure without a DNA test.Ranger came to us from another rescue organization that helped pull him from an overcrowded shelter. We are still learning about him every day, but so far he's one of the sweetest lil guys and we think he'd fit in to almost any fun & active family!Ranger is crate trained, but because he's still a puppy we encourage his adopters to continue helping him learn the new potty routine, as it will obviously be much different than in a shelter. He is friendly with strangers and should do well around other pets & children as long as everyone is properly introduced & supervised. In fact, we're sure he'd LOVE to have a doggy playmate in his new home!Ranger's ideal family would be one who is looking to provide love and guidance to a puppy learning the ropes, as well as someone who is active & involved, and wants to include him in all kinds of new things! He may be hesitant at first, especially since he's been through so much change in such a short amount of time, but we know he'll settle in quickly with lots of love!We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been approved:https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlRanger is fully vetted & neutered. His adoption fee is$200.

COURTESY POST - This dog is NOT in our shelter. Please see contact information for her owners below. We have owned Penny for about 18 months; but she needs training and consistency to become a productive member of society. She has confidence issues that I am confident can be addressed with training and in the right environment; my family is unable to provide that training; thus we are looking to rehome her.     Penny was born December 27th 2023 and was a rescue from an Amish farm in the wider Wisconsin Dells area; she is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She loves the outdoors, chasing deer and turkeys, but also enjoys being indoors and with her human pets. She finds joy in taking walks with her owners. She is great with our children.     She is very smart and has learned the basic commands of sit, stay, down (lie down) and shake. She is an outdoor/indoor dog and is house trained as well as crate trained.    My wife Meredith and I can be contacted at the phone numbers below for those interested in taking Penny to be a member of their family. Thanks for your assistance; it is greatly appreciated!Best Regards,David and Meredith Moseley608-387-1336 (David)414-303-0308 (Meredith

Story
Hi! I'm Bruce! I am a year old Heeler Mix. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Affectionate, Extroverted, Quiet Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I will climb in your lap if you let me. I love touching my people, if I am not in your lap, I am by your feet. I will play with soft toys or squeaky toys, however I would rather be next t you while I do it! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6/10 Housetraining Status: I am still learning, with some consistency and a good routine I should be housetrained in no time! I should do well in a home: I should do well in a home with other dogs given proper introductions. I should do well in a home with kids of any age with proper supervision. My friends at the shelter are unsure how I would do in a home with cats. My favorite activities are: Cuddling, snuggling, and getting love! I do also love playing fetch. Things I need work on are: Basic Commands, and House training Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "He did so good, He was a little nervous when being outside but while inside he calmed down and played. Today we got to get a pup cup, watch a show, chill with people, go on walks and got lots of treats" "Bruce was super kind and cuddly and really enjoyed running around" "He was really excited at first and when he calmed down was really sweet and playful, he is a very very affectionate dog and loves kisses and cuddles. He did okay on the walk he pulls a little bit and tries to go off in different directions but overall was pretty good." "Bruce did amazing on his Doggy Day Out! He is such a sweet and cuddly boy who is very affectionate! He did great riding in the car and was adventurous on his walk. Anybody would be lucky to have him! :)" "Bruce did an amazing job walking. He was a little excited in the beginning but after a couple of minutes he was calm. Bikes are scary but did not overreact. He is a very good boy! He is sweet and loving." Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $300 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
