Story
Hi, I'm Cash! I'm a 2-year-old male heeler. I am current on my vaccines, neutered, and soon to be heartworm tested and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Friendly, Curious, Affectionate Words from Cash's foster mom: Cash is doing great in our home! He is fantastic with our dog and family. It is incredible to see how much things have changed for Cash in just one week. He went potty in the house the first two days, but he's done perfectly since then.?? We could hardly get him in the door that first night, and now he's coming up to us for pets and licks. He loves the crate and spends most of his day in there, but he relaxed outside of the crate for a little more than an hour the past two evenings. We bring the crate into our bedroom every night, and he loves sleeping in the same room. He is still skittish from time to time, but overall he seems happy and comfortable. I was brought to CRHS after being rescued from a large scale animal neglect case in Juneau County where around 80 other dogs were saved. Due to my rough start, I am a bit of a shy guy. I would appreciate a calm living environment and my forever family will need to be willing to take things at my pace. Once I get to know you I'm super friendly and affectionate. I'll be a lap dog in no time! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 7/10 Housetraining Status: Foster family says after a couple of days he does well!! I should do well in a home: Due to my nervous temperament any children in my potential home will need to be 5 years or older. I should do well with other dogs given proper introductions and time to adjust. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats. My favorite activities are: Getting affection, going for walks, and enjoying the outdoors! Things I need work on are: Learning what everything is in this big world is/learning how to be a dog, basic commands. My adoption fee is: $300 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Hi, I'm Tiny! I'm a 1-year-old female heeler. I am current on my vaccines, spayed, microchipped and heartworm negative! 3 words that describe me: Friendly, Curious, Affectionate Words from Tiny's foster mom: Tiny has come so far since coming to our home. She has mastered the use of stairs, now welcomes visitors with ease and takes snacks from us. She loves going for walks and playing outside in the fenced yard. She wags her tail and loves being a dog! She'd do well to have another friendly dog in the home that can help her keep building her confidence! I was brought to CRHS after being rescued from a large scale animal neglect case in Juneau County where around 80 other dogs were saved. Due to my rough start, I am a bit of a shy lady when I first meet people. I would appreciate a calm living environment and my forever family will need to be willing to take things at my pace. Once I get to know you I'm super friendly and affectionate. I'll be a lap dog in no time! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 7/10 Housetraining Status: Foster family says after a couple of days she is amazing! I should do well in a home: Due to Tiny getting startled easily, any kids in the home should be 5+ who will not startle or scare/chase her. She should do well with other dogs given slow and proper introductions. My friends at CRHS are unsure how I'd do with cats as I've never lived with one. My favorite activities are: Getting affection, going for walks, and enjoying the outdoors! Things I need work on are: Building her confidence, basic commands. My adoption fee is: $300 *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

I am current on my vaccines, and soon to be heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. 3 words that describe me: Shy, Loyal, Friendly Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I wasn't socialized super well in my previous home, so entering the shelter was quite a scary experience for me. With that being said I have been making progress every day. It may take me a bit to warm up to a new person, but once I do I just want to be by your side and get all the affection I can get! My friends at CRHS highly reccomend I go into foster-to-adopt before adoption, but it's not required. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 6 or 7/10 Housetraining Status: I am still working on it, but with a consistent schedule and lots of praise I should learn quick! I should do well in a home: Due to my shy and skiddish nature any children in my potential home will need to be 10 years or older. I am required to meet any and all dogs in the household before adoption. I ignored the cats in my previous home. Story
Hi there, I'm Rengoku, but I also answer to Ren! I am a 3-year-old male heeler. I am current on my vaccines, heartworm tested, microchipped, and soon to be neutered. 3 words that describe me: Smart, Affectionate, Playful Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I'm super smart and eager to please! Training me shouldn't take long at all. I love playing with toys of all varieties and I'm not picky about my treats. I'd make a great hiking partner! Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 8/10 Housetraining Status: I am housetrained, although it may take me some time to adjust in my new home I should do well in a home: I should do well with children of all ages given proper supervision. I've lived with other dogs in the past and love meeting new dog friends! I grew up with cats so I'm very gentle when I play with them! My favorite activities are: I love playing with toys, doing tricks, and generally using my brain and getting my energy out! Things I need work on are: I pull on leash when excited and I tend to jump up on people and counters. Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: "He pulls on the leash but not hard, he listens very well and was fast to greet new faces!" "He did so good today! was very welcoming with everyone he met and was super cuddly and snuggly with everyone" "Rengoku, we called him Rengo. He was awesome to hang out with. Him warms up to new people very fast. He did very well with people in Blaine’s and Home Depot. He walked nicely and multiple workers stopped us asking to give him treats. He gladly took the treats and accepted pets/hugs. Everyone thought he was a very sweet boy. He does have a tendency to jump and say hi, but thankfully not with much force. He rode great in the car. He was a very smart boy. He was eager to shake and sit. With a little bit of encouragement, he was happy to lay down. He took treats very gently. He seems to enjoy treats, pup cups, squeaky toys and tennis balls." Story
Hi there, I'm Brutus! I'm an 8-year-old male Australian shepherd mix. I am current on my vaccines, and soon to be heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. I am a foster-to-adopt candidate. 3 words that describe me: Affectionate, Calm, Smart Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: I was brought to CRHS after being found with my deceased owner. This has understandably been a rough change for me and I've had a hard time transitioning to shelter life. I'm still a little nervous around men but, I'm building my trust. I'm now living in a foster home and LOVING IT!!! My foster mom says that I'm smart, sweet and that I'm the best boy for her 5 year old son. Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10): 4/10 Housetraining Status: My foster mom says I'm completely housebroken with a routine. I should do well in a home: kiddos of all ages. I am required to meet any and all dogs in the household. In my previous home I did not get along with the cats, so my new home will need to be cat free. Staff at CRHS recommend I be taken into foster-to-adopt before adoption, but it's not required. My favorite activities are: Relaxing in a calm environment, sitting with people I'm comfortable with, and learning new things. Things I need work on are: Confidence building, basic commands Any special needs: N/A Doggy day out notes: N/A Daycare Status: N/A My adoption fee is: $250 Training Requirement if applicable: N/A *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal
