Story
Meet Ranger! Ranger is approximately 7 months old and is thought to be heinz-57 mix! He's roughly 45lbs and has qualities of a possible terrier and/or herding breed type, but we cannot know for sure without a DNA test.Ranger came to us from another rescue organization that helped pull him from an overcrowded shelter. We are still learning about him every day, but so far he's one of the sweetest lil guys and we think he'd fit in to almost any fun & active family!Ranger is crate trained, but because he's still a puppy we encourage his adopters to continue helping him learn the new potty routine, as it will obviously be much different than in a shelter. He is friendly with strangers and should do well around other pets & children as long as everyone is properly introduced & supervised. In fact, we're sure he'd LOVE to have a doggy playmate in his new home!Ranger's ideal family would be one who is looking to provide love and guidance to a puppy learning the ropes, as well as someone who is active & involved, and wants to include him in all kinds of new things! He may be hesitant at first, especially since he's been through so much change in such a short amount of time, but we know he'll settle in quickly with lots of love!We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been approved:https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlRanger is fully vetted & neutered. His adoption fee is$200.

COURTESY POST - This dog is NOT in our shelter. Please see contact information for her owners below. We have owned Penny for about 18 months; but she needs training and consistency to become a productive member of society. She has confidence issues that I am confident can be addressed with training and in the right environment; my family is unable to provide that training; thus we are looking to rehome her.     Penny was born December 27th 2023 and was a rescue from an Amish farm in the wider Wisconsin Dells area; she is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed. She loves the outdoors, chasing deer and turkeys, but also enjoys being indoors and with her human pets. She finds joy in taking walks with her owners. She is great with our children.     She is very smart and has learned the basic commands of sit, stay, down (lie down) and shake. She is an outdoor/indoor dog and is house trained as well as crate trained.    My wife Meredith and I can be contacted at the phone numbers below for those interested in taking Penny to be a member of their family. Thanks for your assistance; it is greatly appreciated!Best Regards,David and Meredith Moseley608-387-1336 (David)414-303-0308 (Meredith

Story
Meet Banjo! Banjo is approximately 1 year old and is thought to be an Australian Cattle Dog type mix. Banjo was found as a stray, so unfortunately we don't know what his life was like prior to being found and we are learning a little bit more about him every day. When he first arrived, he was a bit shy with new people and seemed unsure as to who he could trust. It didn't take him more than a couple of days to learn that everyone here is a friend! For anyone who has not previously owned or been with Australian Cattle Dogs/Blue Heelers, we encourage you to do lots of research before applying. Heelers are a highly-driven, highly-active breed who often use their mouths to communicate. They also love to chase/herd, which is important for parents of toddlers & young children to remember. He is a very playful dog who loves fetch, chases bugs, and is very agile! Banjo will not be a good match for someone who wants a couch potato ;) We don't know Banjo's history with other animals, so we recommend slow introductions, safe separation & time for everyone to settle in if he goes into a home with other pets. It's important to understand that Banjo is still learning the new environment here in the shelter, and will again have to start over by learning all of the new sights, sounds and smells of your home, so give him plenty of time to figure all of that out. This little guy is so much fun, so happy to learn (he's wicked smart!) and ready to find an active & involved owner! If that might be you, follow the link below. We are doing all meet n' greets BY APPOINTMENT ONLY after an adoption application has been generally approved:https://monroecountydogshelter.com/apply-adopt.htmlBanjo will be neutered & vaccinated prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $200.
