Stephanie Donlon   < stephdonlon422@gmail.com >   Thu, Mar 26, 7:31 AM (3 days ago)       to  me             This sweet girl is Hazel! Hazel is a coonhound mix. She’s 3 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Hazel has lived with a family her whole life, and when her owner fell ill they dropped her off at a shelter. Hazel is sad and confused. She did not deserve this. She’s such a friendly and affectionate girl who is really missing her home life. Hazel has the personality you’d expect from her breed. She’s a good natured, intelligent girl. She’s playful and walks very well on a leash. Hazel would love an active family that will give her the mental and physical exercise she needs. She will thank you with her loyalty and lots of kisses! Hazel is housebroken and appears to be dog friendly too. Hazel is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. If you’d like to meet Hazel, please fill out an application on our website at Rescueridge.com. If your application is a possible match, a volunteer will get back to you to schedule a meet.

Story
I adopted Cal with my ex-partner in 2021 while I was in law school. Immediately, Cal became one of the best things in my life. His near-human emotional intelligence, silliness, and unending affection for everyone around him makes him one of the most special dogs I have ever met. Originally, my partner worked remotely and Cal was always home with someone. When we broke up and I graduated law school, I tried to keep taking care of Cal on my own, but as time has gone on, it has become clear to me that I unable to give Cal everything he needs on my own. My job requires me to work in person frequently, and I am simply unable to be home enough to give Cal the life I think he deserves. Cal is energetic, playful, and loving. He can also be fearful and anxious, particularly around new strangers in the home and loud sounds (blenders, vacuums). Cal thrives in quiet routine with lots of love and attention.

Story
Maple is a sweet girl who came to us after receiving treatment for heartworm. She has obviously not had an easy life. She was painfully thin, skittish around people, and initially seemed uncomfortable being indoors. But dogs are amazing creatures and it is amazing how much progress she has made in just a few days of being in foster care! She has warmed up to everyone, and will follow her foster mom everywhere. She is very comfortable around the resident dogs and will try to play with them. She is thriving on a routine, good food, calm environment, and lots of love. Maple responded well to her heartworm treatment, and the vet believes she will live a long, healthy life. We hope that she finds the perfect forever family to give her the love and care she so deserves! If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our application. Meetings will not be scheduled without an application. Please visit our website www.rogersrescues.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs.

Story
In November 2024, Firestarter was discovered at a dump site in rural Alabama with heavy chains and metal rods cuffed to her leg. She was terrified of everything and everyone. Over time and thanks to her foster’s patient care, she learned to trust again. Firestarter has grown into a charming extrovert who loves the company of people and other dogs. She gets along with cats too—as long as they don’t mind her playful nature! Although she’s an active girl with an adventurous spirit, she’s exceptionally well-behaved and mellow at home once she has had her daily walks. Firestarter is fostered in Ridgefield, CT, and is available for local or out-of-state adoption as long as the adopter can travel to meet her. To get the adoption process started, please send us an application at https://bit.ly/rosr-adopt-foster.
