Maple is a sweet girl who came to us after receiving treatment for heartworm. She has obviously not had an easy life. She was painfully thin, skittish around people, and initially seemed uncomfortable being indoors. But dogs are amazing creatures and it is amazing how much progress she has made in just a few days of being in foster care! She has warmed up to everyone, and will follow her foster mom everywhere. She is very comfortable around the resident dogs and will try to play with them. She is thriving on a routine, good food, calm environment, and lots of love. Maple responded well to her heartworm treatment, and the vet believes she will live a long, healthy life. Over time and thanks to her foster’s patient care, she learned to trust again. Firestarter has grown into a charming extrovert who loves the company of people and other dogs. She gets along with cats too—as long as they don’t mind her playful nature! Although she’s an active girl with an adventurous spirit, she’s exceptionally well-behaved and mellow at home once she has had her daily walks. Meet Georgia — our beautiful blue tick coonhound! This gentle girl was found as a stray and ended up at a local pound, but her luck turned around when we pulled her to safety. Georgia is now thriving in her foster home, where she enjoys the company of lots of other dogs. She’s kennel-trained, social, and as sweet as they come. Ready to fall in love? Georgia sure is. Georgia is up to date on vaccines and treatment. She is already fixed. Her adoption donation is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
