Story
Hi! I'm Winnie, a 2-year-old black and tan coonhound, and this is my story. In late 2022, I found myself in Kentucky and stumbled upon a kind older couple's home while lost and in need of safety. They graciously fed me, although I couldn't join them indoors. Over time, they noticed I was growing, and one day, they reluctantly called Animal Control. I was scared and ended up at a noisy shelter. It was a challenging time, and to my surprise, I learned I was pregnant. Thankfully, a compassionate rescue stepped in and saved me! As soon as I got into the foster home, I was taken care of - it felt so good to be in a warm and loving home. Right away, I knew this was going to be the place where I could deliver my puppies. This was my first litter, so it took me a while, and I was really scared! I didn't want anyone near me, so I did this all by myself. After many hours, I successfully delivered nine beautiful puppies! It was right before Christmas, so we celebrated with fun festive reindeer names! Myself and my nine babies got out on a freedom ride to New Jersey in February, and they have all found their forever homes! I thought I found my forever home too, but unfortunately, things didn't quite work out between me and the resident dog. So, now I'm searching for a loving home where I can be the sole dog. So here I am, a delightful dog—goofy, bouncy, affectionate. I ride well in the car and am fully house-trained— I love exploring and sniffing in the backyard, always searching for a cat or squirrel.
