Demetrius is a sweet and loving 18-month-old Coonhound mix who currently weighs around 60 pounds. He is fully vetted and ready to find his forever home! He was found as a stray before landing in the comforting arms of the Greater Charlotte SPCA. He's friendly as can be and seeks out attention. He's fully crate trained and is working on house training.  Demetrius is easy going. He likes puzzle toys and independent play along with cuddles on the sofa. He loves to go for long leash walks and is an excellent hiking or jogging companion, too. He enjoys meeting new people and leans on anyone who is willing to spend time with him. He's cute and his forehead wrinkles are the best. Demetrius has done well with other dogs at doggie daycare and in his foster home.  If you are interested in adopting Demetrius, please submit an inquiry directly with Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. ***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet.   Nikko is a sweet, loving Treeing Walker Coonhound who we rescued 5 years ago after being abandoned as a puppy and on his own for the first year of his life.  He's crate trained ( actually puts himself to bed in his crate when he's tired at night!) and house-trained.  If he has to go outside of his normal schedule, Nikko excels as placing his head in your lap and laying on the puppy eyes. Nikko has been a sweet, smart and funny companion for our 10-year-old.  When they chase each other around, Nikko loves to "hide" behind trees, thinking we can't see him, and learn new tricks when treats are involved.  At 45 pounds, he sometimes thinks he's a lap dog and loves to snuggle.  If you have a hoodie with a front pocket, he'll put his nose in the pocket and go right to sleep. We love this good boy but have made the tough decision to regime Nikko, as he is not thriving here.  We have noticed he has some triggers ( anxious and overstimulated) specific to certain situations in our very crowded neighborhood that I would love to speak with you about over the phone.  He absolutely thrives in rural settings, and we would love to find a home that has that for him where he can have a large space to run and be active.   ~Adoption donation $ . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
