Story
Gertie doesn’t know you yet, but she likes you! Gertie is retired and looking for a great place to nap with people who know hounds and will give hugs! Her previous owner says she is spayed. She is getting much better with her leash and gives to its pressure. Things to consider: Gertie is a hound. She will lend chase to critters that run. Watch her with chickens and cats! Gertie loves to speak her mind but settles down immediately with love. Check out our Rumble page: LeroysRanchHands www.leroysranchhands.com

Story
Max was left on our front porch one morning, and while we don’t know much about his past, we’re getting to know what an amazing dog he truly is. At about 2 ½ years old and 94 lbs, he’s a big boy, but also a well-mannered one! Max is house-trained, non-destructive, and already knows “sit” and “paw.” He walks nicely on the leash, checking in with his person often, and loves to romp around outside or play with you. He is energetic and would love an outlet for his energy! Despite his size, Max has a timid side. He can be easily startled by loud noises and needs a little time to warm up to new people and places. Because of this, he’ll do best in a calm environment with patient adopters who can help build his confidence. Once he feels safe, you’ll see his playful, loyal, and incredibly sweet personality shine through. So far, Max has met one female dog. He did well with her, but did try and mount her a few times. He has met kids and loves them, though keep in mind he is a large boy and he definitely likes to lean and sit on you. He has yet to meet a cat! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts playmate and loyal companion, Max may be the perfect match.

Story
Mia is the most cuddly pup you'll ever meet. She loves to snuggle right next to your face, or nap on the couch with you. This little sour patch kid is full to the brim with excitement and energy. She loves to run, jump and play. Mia does well with other dogs, but doesn't really understand boundaries. She thinks everyone wants to play with her. She loves toys with squeakers. She walks well on leash unless she sees something interesting and then she may pull you some. She is doing well with house training, but still has the occasional accident. She is very good about using puppy pads. Mia can be housed with cats, she shows no aggression to them, but does enjoy chasing my boys through the house, which may stress a cat out. If you're looking for high energy, big cuddles, and a sweet face Mia may be the dog for you. She should be small/medium sized full grown. Mia would do best in a home with kids or another dog to play with As of 11/9/25 she weighs 20 lbs. Consider putting in an application for her. DOB: 6/20/25 Mia has been dewormed, had her DA2PP vaccines and will be microchipped. If interested in Mia, please fill out an adoption application: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/MFAR/42224-mfar-adoption-application

Story
Meet Dixie Chick This lovely 6-8-year-old coonhound is the definition of sweet southern charm! Dixie Chick was rescued from a high-kill shelter on her “last day,” and she’s been thankful for every cozy couch nap since. Dixie is a gentle soul who loves her stuffed animals — she treats them like her babies and keeps them close at all times. While she’s mostly a laid-back lady, her hound nose can still get her going when she catches a good scent! She’s crate trained and settles down quickly after a few minutes of letting you know she’s there (classic hound behavior!). She even sleeps peacefully through the night in her crate. We do recommend crating her when you’re away — if she smells something tasty, she’ll go on a little “treasure hunt.” Like many older dogs, Dixie occasionally has pee accidents if she isn’t let out in time, but she’s doing her best. This sweet girl is just looking for a loving home where she can snooze on the couch, snuggle her stuffies, and enjoy her golden years feeling safe and adored.
