Story
Meet Macie – The Sweetest Hound! Macie is an absolute sweetheart with a heart full of love! She was found as a stray by her loving foster mom. She’s the ultimate cuddler and prefers to be right beside you. This loving girl adores everyone she meets, including small children, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet. Like a true hound, she has an incredible nose and a signature howl. She’s very curious about the outside world, so a secure yard or leash walks will be best for her. Macie is a dream in the car and is working on her leash manners. Her favorite things include belly rubs, snuggles, and spreading love to everyone she meets. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a true hound spirit, Macie is your girl! Meet Freckles! Born in January, Freckles is an adorable Hound/Lab mix with the perfect blend of sweetness and puppy energy. True to his hound roots, you’ll often find him with his nose to the ground—sniffing out toys or sneakily stealing socks! Freckles is crate trained, house trained, and great with other dogs and cats. He enjoys playing in a fenced yard, and is happy to go on walks. He’s eager to please, food motivated, and always ready to earn a treat for being a good boy. If you’re looking for a playful, loving companion with a heart of gold (and a nose for adventure), Freckles might be the perfect fit for your family! Story
Meet Sweet Pea, a 4-year-old shepherd mix who would be perfect for almost any home. Sweet Pea is great with cats, has an extremely high tolerance for crazy kids and walks absolutely perfectly on a leash. It really does not get any easier than Sweet Pea.  Sweet Pea was found wandering and pregnant, and she was taken into rescue late last year. Her 11 puppies all found homes in January, and since then Sweet Pea has gone from stressed mama to the most joyful, carefree dog. After a life that probably wasn’t so ideal, Sweet Pea now exudes happiness. She’s so grateful for her new life!    Based on a breed test from one of her puppies, Sweet Pea is likely a German Shepherd, Treeing Walker Coonhound, Chow Chow and American Pit Bull Terrier mix. She’s medium height and weighs about 45 lbs full grown. She’s crate trained, fully potty trained and travels well in the car. On a leash, she is perfection: she walks right next to you and never pulls.  At home, Sweet Pea is calm and a little lazy. She takes lots of naps and loves to be near her person. She also loves a good nap in the sunshine, and prefers to sleep on her back with all four paws up in the air. Sweet Pea doesn’t need a ton of exercise, but she loves a walk and enjoys meeting new people out in the world.   Sweet Pea is in a foster home with two young children, and she really is wonderful with children of all ages and energy levels. She even does well with children in large groups and has shown an affinity for children with special needs.   Sweet Pea also spends lots of time with the two cats in her foster home. She has formed a close bond with one of those cats and respects the personal space of the one that isn’t interested in her. Although she isn’t currently in a home with other dogs, Sweet Pea has done well with all the dogs she has met. And of course she was the best mama to her 11 puppies.   Sweet Pea is truly the most perfect, turn-key dog, and any family would be lucky to have her. Apply today if you want to be that lucky family. Story
Lex is a sweet, laid-back young guy with a calm presence and a heart full of love. At 6 months old, he’s already showing signs of being the kind of dog who will happily fit into just about any loving home. Lex joined our Connecticut rescue from North Carolina through one of our trusted rescue partners. He is one of an 8 puppy litter surrendered to a shelter when their owner could no longer care for them. Despite the uncertainty of his early start, Lex has remained gentle, steady, and affectionate. Lex is a great mix of brains and heart. His DNA testing shows a blend of Doberman with three hound breeds: Redbone Coonhound, Treeing Walker Coonhound, and Bluetick Coonhound. This mix gives Lex a wonderful balance of intelligence, loyalty, and easygoing hound charm. He will be a large dog, about 60 pounds adult weight. Lex is great with children and has a naturally patient, tolerant nature. He does very well with other dogs and tends to enjoy relaxed play, companionship, and being part of a peaceful pack. Compared to his sisters, Lex is a bit more chill and thoughtful, often content to observe before jumping into the fun. His hound side enjoys exploring at a comfortable pace, while his Doberman heritage shows in his attentiveness and strong bond with people. Lex loves affection, enjoys being near his humans, and is the type of pup who will happily settle in for cuddles after a walk. Lex is looking for a forever home where he can grow at his own pace, surrounded by patience, kindness, and love. If you’re searching for a young dog with a mellow personality and a devoted heart, Lex may be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Annie is a 7 year old coonhound who was originally adopted in 2022. Due to a move and change in the family's situation, Annie needs a new home. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves her people and loves her tennis ball almost as much. She has done well living with other dogs these last couple of years but would also be fine as an only pet or with one companion. She eagerly meets new friends at the dog park and gets along with males and females. Annie is crate-trained and loves to curl up in a ball on her bed but she would prefer to sleep with her humans if permitted. Annie is a high-energy dog and requires daily exercise. She will tirelessly play fetch and loves doing so as much as she likes her walks in the park. She would be a great running companion. Annie is vocal when she anticipates an outing or when playing ball. Annie would love a home where her owner(s) can be be with her much of the time and someone can meet her energy needs If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below.
