Story
Meet Macie – The Sweetest Hound! Macie is an absolute sweetheart with a heart full of love! She was found as a stray by her loving foster mom. She’s the ultimate cuddler and prefers to be right beside you. This loving girl adores everyone she meets, including small children, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She hasn’t been tested with cats yet. Like a true hound, she has an incredible nose and a signature howl. She’s very curious about the outside world, so a secure yard or leash walks will be best for her. Macie is a dream in the car and is working on her leash manners. Her favorite things include belly rubs, snuggles, and spreading love to everyone she meets. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a true hound spirit, Macie is your girl! Could you be her perfect match? Story
Wanda Dean is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Wanda is a beautiful brindle puppy with a true zest for life. She loves being outside, soaking up the sunshine, and exploring while carrying her favorite stuffed animal. Wanda is a playful, social girl who absolutely adores other dogs and would thrive with a furry friend in her new home. Like any young pup, she’s still learning the ropes—especially leash walking, as she’s not a big fan of feeling restricted just yet. She's doing great with house training and hasn’t had any accidents so far! Wanda isn't thrilled about crate time, but after a few minutes of whining, she settles down and naps peacefully. This sweet girl even tolerated her bath like a champ and happily rolled over for a nail trim. She loves a good stick to chew on and has a gentle, affectionate nature. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter. Story
Our pup Phoebe is a total sweetheart. She is part of an accidental litter of puppies surrendered by owners who “forgot” to have their adult dogs spayed/neutered.  Phoebe and her siblings were just eight weeks old when they joined our Rescue in Canterbury, Connecticut, last month. She seemed shy at first but has come out of her shell nicely and is showing us a stable temperament and delightful personality.  We were curious about her breed mix and had DNA tested. She is a double dose of Coonhound: Bluetick and Treeing Walker, as well as Husky, German Shepherd, and Australian Cattle Dog. Her size is projected in the 50-80 pound range. Nineteen weeks old, Phoebe is ready for her new home. She is a sweet, demure girl with a slightly shy temperament. She loves all people, and has sailed through the rescue process with a healthy curiosity about new people and situations. Phoebe plays gently with other dogs and would thrive in a multi-dog home with other gentle, playful dogs.  As a working breed mix, Phoebe needs a good deal of exercise and mental stimulation to maintain good behavior. She does not have over the top puppy energy, but she does need a couple brisk leash walks each day to get her yayas out.  Phoebe would be an excellent choice for an experienced puppy-savvy adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. She would do well with an active couple or family with older kids, who can play gently with a young dog. We think Phoebe could be fine with cats.  So far we have seen a sweet personality and balanced temperament in Phoebe, and we seek an adopter willing to raise her as a Canine Good Citizen. She is in excellent health and has fully vaccinated. If you are interested in Phoebe, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

Story
Our adorable pup, Asher, has ears with a mind of their own, permanently tipsy. He is part of an accidental litter of puppies surrendered by owners who “forgot” to have their adult dogs spayed/neutered.  Asher and his siblings were just eight weeks old when they joined our Rescue in Canterbury, Connecticut, in early April. He is a sweet boy who has navigated the rescue process with ease.  We were curious about Asher's breed mix and had DNA tested. He is a formidable double dose of Coonhound: Treeing Walker and Bluetick, as well as a healthy mix of Husky, German Shepherd with a smidge of Aussie Cattle Dog for comic relief. Size projected to be 50-80 lbs.  Nineteen weeks old, Asher is ready for his new home. He is a friendly boy who loves all people, and other dogs. He would thrive in a multi-dog home with other gentle, playful dogs, and we think he would be fine with cats.  As a working breed mix, Asher needs a good deal of exercise and mental stimulation to maintain good behavior. He does not have over the top puppy energy, but his Coonhound roots require some leisurely "sniff the roses" daily walks.  Asher would be an excellent choice for an experienced puppy-savvy adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. He would do well with an active couple or family with older kids, who can play gently with a young dog.  So far we have seen an loving, gentle personality in Asher, and we seek an adopter willing to raise him as a Canine Good Citizen.
