Are you looking for your next adventure and cuddle buddy? This is Hank! He is a sweet, lovable and amazing pup. He is the best combo of playful and cuddly! Hank loves to play tug, go on walks, go for rides in the car to get Starbucks pup cups, hang out while you cook and watch TV and LOVES to snuggle. You can usually find Hank underneath a blanket or pillow trying to sleep or sitting with a toy ready to play. He is very good on leash and loves other dogs, but is not a fan of cats, and absoluely loves meeting other people. Hank is crate trained and is mostly housebroken but can definelty let you know when he needs a walk by starting at the door to go outside. Hank will be your perfect match if you love a good mix of adventure and relaxing. His big ears are to die for and he has the BEST puppy dog eyes ever!! Story
Fred, Freddie Spaghetti, Fredrick… 💛 He’s picked up quite a few names in his foster home — now he just needs someone to call him theirs. Fred is an almost 5-month-old hound puppy who came into our program after being born into less-than-ideal circumstances. Thankfully, his owner surrendered him to us, and we’ve been able to get him on a much better path. Fred is a confident, happy puppy who loves meeting new people and making new dog friends. He even lives with a confident cat in his foster home and does great. He’s an affectionate little guy who will happily climb into your lap to hang out — but he’s also very much a puppy. He loves neighborhood walks, zooming around the yard with his dog friends, and tossing toys around to entertain himself. And the best part? Fred already has the skills to match his personality. He is house trained with almost no accidents, sleeps through the night in his crate, and is trustworthy when left home alone. He’s learned “sit” and will politely sit when asking for something — pretty impressive for a puppy who used to live strictly outside. If you’re looking for a puppy who is friendly, affectionate, and already off to a great start, Fred is your guy. 💛🐾

Story
Meet Millie 🤍 Millie came to us after our field team found her sick and chained outside — but if you met her today, you'd never guess how hard her start was. She is pure sweetness, the kind of dog who just wants to be close to you and soak up every bit of love she can get. And honestly? She's earned it. She's currently working through heartworm treatment, taking things slow and resting up — but she's handling it like a champ. In the meantime, she's been discovering what it feels like to be truly cared for: cool air, soft beds, a full belly, and a family who adores her. Safe to say she's settling in just fine. When she's ready, Millie will be looking for a home where she can keep right on being loved. She does great with kids and other dogs, and we think she'll thrive anywhere she's given the chance to just be a dog — cherished, comfortable, and finally at peace. She didn't have someone in her corner before. Now she does — and we're not stopping until she has a forever home to match. We urge you to apply to adopt Millie if a sweet hound sounds like the perfect addition to your family🐾

Story
Our BEST boy is waiting to meet you! Hound lovers, Meet Clyde. Clyde found himself in a very rural shelter with more dogs than adopters. Because the competition was younger and smaller, he didn't stand much chance of being chosen. Lucky for him, we are suckers for senior coonies and happily welcomed him into our adoption program. Clyde is the most kind an gentle soul. He enjoys gazing into your eyes and leaning on you show is love. He is a dream on-leash and quietly sits in his crate at adoption events just waiting for someone to adore him. It's unlikely that Clyde has lived in a home and may need some extra support with house training and basic manners. Given his easy going personality, we bet he will adjust rather easily. Clyde is a treeing walker coonhound who is guessed to be about 7-9 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. He recently had a dental so he'll be ready to smile at his new family for years to come! We adore Clyde and are proud to have saved him. Now, let's find his furEVER family! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charitable, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
