Story
Hi there! My name is Zippy and here is a little info about me: Breed: Corgi mixAge: 5 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 5–7 kgCountry of origin: TurkeyHighlights: Playful, social, affectionate, cat-friendly (with proper intro), loves games and bird watching I may be tiny, but my love for life is huge. I’m a happy little girl who turns everyday moments into fun adventures! I was rescued and given a second chance at life, and ever since then, I’ve embraced every moment with joy. I’m now safe and dreaming of a forever home where I can share my playful spirit and loving heart. I’m energetic, playful, social, curious, and affectionate. I love interactive games like fetch and enjoy engaging with my humans. I have a joyful spark that makes people smile — whether I’m bouncing around or inviting you to play. I also have a calm and independent side; after playtime, I’m happy to relax in my cozy spot and quietly observe my surroundings (especially birds, I love watching them!). I would thrive in a home that offers both playtime and a calm, loving environment. I can live with other dogs and potentially cats with a slow and proper introduction. I’d do best with a family that enjoys interacting with me but also respects my quiet moments. Energy Level: Moderate to High (well-balanced) I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Yes (with slow and proper introduction)Kids: Unknown Fears:None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training:Leash skills: Yes – I know how to walk on a leash. Please continue my training.House trained: I may need a little time to adjust to a new environment and routine, especially for potty habits. Please help me learn! Otherwise, I am very well-behaved, can stay home alone, and I’m not destructive. Health notes:No known health concerns. I have been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be asked to pay a passenger fee on top of the cargo fee. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper. ##2711004##

Story
Hiya! My name is OTTO, and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Corgi, Maltese Mix Age: approx. 2 years Gender: Male Weight: 29 lbs (13.3 kg)  Height: 36 cm (paws to shoulders), 46 cm (paws to top of head) Length: 73 cm (head to butt) Neck circumference: 36 cm Chest circumference: 57 cm Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - I was found tied to a post in downtown Mexico City, in good health. After my rescue, my background was investigated, and it was discovered that I had belonged to a neighbor in the area. I am the result of an accidental cross between a Corgi and a Maltese and was the only puppy in the litter. Unfortunately, the owner chose not to take responsibility for me and abandoned me when I was just three months old. Can you believe that? Despite being abandoned, I was in good physical and emotional condition when found. I had a healthy weight and displayed normal puppy behavior. Having spent my first months with my mother, I developed into a confident and emotionally stable dog. Thankfully, I was rescued and taken to La Casa del Mestizo and have been well taken care of ever since! TEMPERAMENT - I am a social, playful boy who loves affection! With people I know, I am a very affectionate and outgoing guy. I enjoy exploring my surroundings and will sit in front of my humans to ask for cuddles and attention. With strangers, I am pretty confident and friendly. Even when approached by new people, I happily wag my tail and enjoy being petted. I am the goodest boy at the shelter, I do not display any resource guarding with people or the other dogs. I am very gentle—so much so that other dogs may take my food or treats, and I simply wait patiently or for more to be offered.  Here is a video of me meeting a stranger and getting some pets. ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I find a nice balance between being active and relaxing. I really enjoy my playtime, but I am just as happy to settle down for a long sleep and some quiet affection once I’ve had my fun. Seeing as I have working breed genetics, I will need an adopter who can work my brain and my body to make sure I'm fulfilled :) If I spend too much time in one place without stimulation (such as toys or treats), I may start barking at passersby or try to get the attention of other dogs, mainly out of boredom (I'm a smart corgi!). For this reason, before spending extended time in busy environments, I should have a long walk with opportunities to sniff freely or engage in mentally stimulating activities. GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yes. I have a gentle personality, and I am good with gentle, quiet kids who respect my space. I haven't met any very young children yet. Here is a video of me with an older child  NOTE: As with any pet, all interactions between children and dogs should be carefully supervised by an adult to ensure that boundaries are respected and that both the child and the dog remain safe and comfortable. As I can be initially shy around strangers, I may need extra time to become comfortable with new children.  Dogs –  Yup! I am very sociable with dogs of all sizes. I greet them appropriately, enjoy sniffing and being sniffed, and love to play. NOTE: my play style can sometimes be a bit rough (corgi style, hehe), depending on the other dog and their boundaries. So I'm looking for an adopter who will watch the body language of the pups I play with and who will intervene if it looks like I might be gettin' too rowdy. I get along well with other dogs at the shelter and show no resource guarding behaviours over my food, toys, or bed.  As with any new pet joining a household, all introductions with resident dogs should be handled slowly and supervised to ensure everyone feels safe and comfortable.  Here is a video of me meeting a random dog on a walk - pretty polite eh? Here is a video of me with my doggo pals at the shelter Cats – Yup, but no video of the interaction yet. My rescuer says I get along well with cats and often try to initiate play, although cats usually ignore me. We can request a video of me around cats if an applicant with cats is interested in me!  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My leash skills are still a work in progress, I can pull at the beginning, but I generally walks well on a leash after I've had some time to settle into a rhythm. In busy or high-traffic environments, I may become slightly anxious and pull, so I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness or collar and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success!  Here is a video of me on a walk Here is another video of me on leash - you can see I'm a wee bit of a puller when I catch a scent I want to investigate House training – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax ($750.00 + 5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates. ##2708939##

Good with dogs,
Story
Hi… I’m Gom 🐾 I may not be the kind of dog who runs straight into your arms the moment we meet. I’m a little quiet at first, and sometimes you might not even notice me right away. But if you give me just a little time, you’ll start to see who I really am. I don’t have even the tiniest bit of meanness in my heart—truly, not even 0.1%. I don’t get scared of people or other animals, and I don’t try to push anyone away. I just… gently accept whoever comes into my life. I guess I’m a bit like a shy boyfriend. I’m not very good at showing affection, and I won’t be the first to come up and cuddle you like some other dogs might. Instead, I’ll quietly stay near you… walking beside you, sitting close without saying much, slowly learning how to open my heart. For about four years, I lived without a family. So I’m still learning what love means—how to show it, how to trust it, how to believe that it’s okay to lean on someone. But I’m trying. Every day, I’m trying. Lately, I’ve been changing, just a little. I find myself watching people with my eyes… sitting closer than before… staying by someone’s side without moving. It may not be big or flashy, but it’s my way of saying, “I care about you.” There is one time when you’ll see me truly come alive—walks! I really, really love going outside. Feeling the breeze, taking in all the smells, walking step by step… it’s my happiest moment of the day. I shine the brightest when I’m out there with you. Oh, and there’s something important you should know about me: I only go to the bathroom outside. I’ve never done it indoors—not even once. Right now, I go on walks three times a day—morning, afternoon, and evening. Having a regular walking routine is very important for me, so I hope my future family can share that with me. I may not love loudly or quickly… but if you wait for me, if you understand my pace, I promise I’ll give you a love that’s deep, steady, and true. I’m still learning what it means to love someone. And I’m waiting for a forever family to learn it with… …maybe that could be you 🤍

Good with dogs,
Story
Hi, my name is Eunsong 🤍🐾 I’m a female Mini Jindo–Welsh Corgi mix, about 5 years old, and I weigh around 13kg (29 lbs). With my short little legs and round, sturdy body, people often find themselves smiling the moment they see me. I’m gentle, calm, and affectionate — the kind of dog who feels like she was born to be someone’s perfect companion. I truly love people and get along well with other dogs too. When you pet me, I’ll happily roll over and show you my belly, asking for more love. I express affection easily, and because I trust people and stay calm, I naturally help others feel relaxed and comfortable from our very first meeting — like a small angel quietly walking into your life. I’m also wonderful on walks. I don’t pull on the leash, and even in new environments, I walk confidently while enjoying my surroundings. I’m not easily frightened, so I adapt fairly quickly to unfamiliar places, making every walk peaceful and enjoyable. I was rescued from a shelter where I was at risk of euthanasia and spent time in a foster home, where I learned what family life feels like. Later, due to changes in circumstances, I moved to a training center. Thanks to my previous home experience, I adjusted to the new environment relatively quickly, and I continue to get along well with both people and other dogs here. While potty routines may not have been perfectly maintained in shelter or training environments, I have lived in a home before. With my future family, I’m expected to quickly settle back into a steady daily routine. My ideal family is one who gives love generously, values quiet companionship, and is ready to warmly continue a shared life at home with me. If I meet that family, I promise to give back unwavering trust, a deep sense of comfort and stability, and endless love 🤍

Story
Hello, everyone!  I'm a vibrant 3-ish year old corgi mix and my name is Beene, affectionately known as Benny Boy by humans.  I can't stop smiling since I arrived in Canada in December 2023!  I have been fortunate to live with caring foster families who've helped me settle into my new life.  As a special-needs dog requiring diapers/belly bands for indoors, I am looking for an understanding and patient a person/family able to commit to my long-term care.  I'm a lively pup with lots of energy, endless love to give, and excitement for what is to come!  Breed: Corgi/Canaan DogAge: 3.5 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 45 lbsEnergy Level: moderateCountry of origin: Middle East                                                                                                                                                                                       Highlight(s): Special needs, energetic, affectionate, gentle                                                                                                                                                                                  Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoption fee is by donation.  Ideal home - Caring and patient human(s) understanding of his incontinence and able to change belly bands/diapers. Benny's story - Born in a small village in the Middle East, Benny’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. At just one month old, he was found whimpering alone under a tree. With his mother and littermates nowhere to be found. A kind human brought him to a shelter, where he spent 1.5 years sharing a small space with other dogs. Despite the challenges, Benny’s resilience and sweet personality shone through, eventually earning him a ticket to a new life in British Columbia. Benny has met several foster families who've cared for him deeply, and where he had the opportunity to live with other dogs, which he got along very well with.  Personality - Benny is a true sweetheart who lives for human affection. He’s known for gently placing his paw on your arm or leg as if to say, “It’s time for pets!” His soulful eyes are guaranteed to melt your heart. Though Benny can be a little timid when meeting new humans (especially men), he warms up quickly with patience and kindness. In fact, his current male foster won him over in just five minutes! Benny is a fast learner, eager to please, and very food-motivated, making training a breeze. He’s gentle, has no resource guarding, and is great with kids.Benny thrives in the company of playful canine friends and would love a home with another dog or access to regular dog park outings. He does not have any documented separation anxiety so he is fine to be left alone for a few hours. Special Needs - Benny’s incontinence issue is likely neurological (undiagnosed). He signals when he needs to go outside for bowel movements but struggles with bladder control; managed indoors with belly bands. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal to provide him space to run, play, and explore while making bathroom breaks easier for everyone.                               Fears: Some loud noises such as busy traffic can spook Benny. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown (has been cautiously curious from a distance)Kids: yes Training: understands and responds to his name.  Knows a few basic commands.  Please help me learn!Leash skills: some.  Please be prepared to train me/continue training.House trained: No. Incontinence problems.  Typically signals at the door when needing to release bowels. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate.Meet Victor❤️💙 Victor's News Account: @jjamooong._1.) Health Condition Spayed. Microchipped and negative for heartworm upon retest (treatment complete). Due to a small fracture in her right molars and tartar buildup, special care is taken to brush her teeth.2.) Rescue Story Victor was rescued by an Adogs volunteer while she was tied up tightly in a gravel lot. When found, she had clearly been neglected for a long time — food that had gone bad was piled next to her, and she looked frightened. But as soon as she felt safe, she wagged her tail and approached.3.) Basic Information With People: Might bark briefly when strangers visit, but this has improved recently. Wags her tail and asks for petting when she meets strangers during walks. Acts cute and flops down comfortably when being petted by familiar people. Loves cuddling close to people. If you come home, she will hurry out to welcome you warmly. Is reactive with people who are running towards her, but she quickly stops if you tell her no. With Dogs: Gets along well with her foster family’s dog. Previously, she got overstimulated when seeing other dogs on walks but through training, she now calms down quickly and focuses on treats. Growls at first when she meets a dog at a dog friendly cafe, but stays still when they keep their distance. Is possessive of toys and sometimes tries to threaten other dogs when they play with her toy. Is getting training to fix this behaviour. With Cats: Although she growls at cats on walks, she stops quickly and passes by if you tell her to go. Separation Anxiety: Experiences anxiety when left alone, barking and scratching at the door. Does not feel separation anxiety when with other dogs or strangers though. Potty Training: Is very good with using pee pads. However, she remembers the first spot it was placed, so consistency in pad location is key. Prefers to go outside if possible and marks with her pee only when outside. Hygiene: Does excellently with baths and toothbrushing, and enjoys brushing. Does not like having her ears cleaned, so mouths at her foster parent’s hand as a warning without biting. Is very afraid of nail clipping, so it’s mostly handled through walks. Walks: Gets aggressive when birds or cats pass by. On days when she’s feeling irritable, she lunges with overstimulation and doesn't calm down when she sees other dogs. But on good days, she immediately refocuses on her guardian upon being called. Tends to pull on the leash hard only when other dogs are around or if she’s in a rush to potty. Is reluctant to go for walks on dark or cold days. Enjoys it if children approach calmly and quietly to pet her. Car Sickness: No motion sickness during a two-hour drive. Biting: Caution is required as there may be defensive (warning) biting if she is suddenly pushed to the side, if someone puts their face too close, if picked up abruptly, or during ear cleaning. Barking: Doesn’t bark even at strangers outside the door as long as they don’t ring the doorbell. Barks briefly when family returns to home. Likes: Loves food very much. While this used to lead to some sensitivity (resource guarding) around her foster sibling, this behavior has improved significantly. Dislikes: Doesn’t like being bothered. Is okay with her foster sibling, but doesn’t like other dogs. Understands commands such as 'Sit down', 'Lie down', 'Turn', 'Nose', 'V', 'Paw', 'Wait', and 'Kiss'!* Personality: Is a cutie pie that loves people. However, she has an independent side and dislikes being bothered too much.
