Story
Meet Billy   Age: 7 years Sex: Neutered male Breed: Welsh Corgi mix Color: Brown/White Weight: 15 kg Height (shoulder): 34 cm   Rescue Story: Billy was rescued from a municipal shelter in October 2025.   With People Billy is very affectionate and friendly. He approaches both familiar and new people with ease, enjoys being petted, and will happily lean in for attention. He loves both men and women. While he enjoys affection, he is not overly clingy and is also comfortable relaxing independently. Once he bonds, he will show his belly and enjoys being picked up.   With Other Dogs Billy greets new dogs politely with a sniff but is not interested in playing. He generally prefers doing his own thing—walking around, doing his business, and resting. He avoids conflict even if another dog provokes him and tends to feel uncomfortable around high-energy dogs.   With Cats Not yet tested, but can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level Low energy. Billy enjoys resting most of the time but gets excited and happy when it’s time for a walk.   ‍ Walks He has good leash manners and walks calmly without pulling. He especially enjoys sniffing during walks.   Additional Notes No food guarding toward people or other dogs No separation anxiety Occasionally barks to communicate when he wants something Calm and well-behaved in a kennel Currently does outdoor potty only Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  Please also visit our Facebook and Instagram! Story
Fox was captured by urban management due to a report by his owner stating that he was aggressive and have bitten him. However, we quickly realized that this was not the case. After just two days at the shelter, Fox was already opening up and friendly to our workers. It seems very likely that Fox was abused by his previous owner so he would show teeth and growl out of fear. He is also quite afraid of things like long sticks and bats. Fox does have some food aggression but easily fixable by feeding in his crate and not disturbing him until finished. Now Fox is ready for a forever home. We hope he finds someone that understands his past and is willing to love him and be patient. We know with just a little more time, he'll turn a new leaf - we're already seeing it these few short weeks. Fox is currently in China, and available to fly to you in the coming months. Please send us an email if you are interested in learning more about Fox and our adoption process!

Good with dogs, Needs special attention,
Story
Hello, everyone!  I'm a vibrant 3-ish year old corgi mix and my name is Beene, affectionately known as Benny Boy by humans.  I can't stop smiling since I arrived in Canada in December 2023!  I have been fortunate to live with caring foster families who've helped me settle into my new life.  As a special-needs dog requiring diapers/belly bands for indoors, I am looking for an understanding and patient a person/family able to commit to my long-term care.  I'm a lively pup with lots of energy, endless love to give, and excitement for what is to come!  Breed: Corgi/Canaan DogAge: 3.5 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 45 lbsEnergy Level: moderateCountry of origin: Middle East                                                                                                                                                                                       Highlight(s): Special needs, energetic, affectionate, gentle                                                                                                                                                                                  Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoption fee is by donation.  Ideal home - Caring and patient human(s) understanding of his incontinence and able to change belly bands/diapers. Benny's story - Born in a small village in the Middle East, Benny’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. At just one month old, he was found whimpering alone under a tree. With his mother and littermates nowhere to be found. A kind human brought him to a shelter, where he spent 1.5 years sharing a small space with other dogs. Despite the challenges, Benny’s resilience and sweet personality shone through, eventually earning him a ticket to a new life in British Columbia. Benny has met several foster families who've cared for him deeply, and where he had the opportunity to live with other dogs, which he got along very well with.  Personality - Benny is a true sweetheart who lives for human affection. He’s known for gently placing his paw on your arm or leg as if to say, “It’s time for pets!” His soulful eyes are guaranteed to melt your heart. Though Benny can be a little timid when meeting new humans (especially men), he warms up quickly with patience and kindness. In fact, his current male foster won him over in just five minutes! Benny is a fast learner, eager to please, and very food-motivated, making training a breeze. He’s gentle, has no resource guarding, and is great with kids.Benny thrives in the company of playful canine friends and would love a home with another dog or access to regular dog park outings. He does not have any documented separation anxiety so he is fine to be left alone for a few hours. Special Needs - Benny’s incontinence issue is likely neurological (undiagnosed). He signals when he needs to go outside for bowel movements but struggles with bladder control; managed indoors with belly bands. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal to provide him space to run, play, and explore while making bathroom breaks easier for everyone.                               Fears: Some loud noises such as busy traffic can spook Benny. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown (has been cautiously curious from a distance)Kids: yes Training: understands and responds to his name.  Knows a few basic commands.  Please help me learn!Leash skills: some.  Please be prepared to train me/continue training.House trained: No. Incontinence problems.  Typically signals at the door when needing to release bowels. ✅Currently located in South Korea✅️💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate.Meet Victor❤️💙 Victor's News Account: @jjamooong._1.) Health Condition Spayed. Microchipped, negative for heartworm upon retest (treatment complete) and dental scaling completed. Due to a small fracture in her right molars and tartar buildup, special care is taken to brush her teeth.2.) Rescue Story Victor was rescued by an Adogs volunteer while she was tied up tightly in a gravel lot. When found, she had clearly been neglected for a long time — food that had gone bad was piled next to her, and she looked frightened. But as soon as she felt safe, she wagged her tail and approached.3.) Basic Information With People: Gets along well with strangers as long as they don’t rush or approach in a threatening manner. Becomes affectionate if you approach and give her love. Acts cute and flops down comfortably when being petted by familiar people. Loves cuddling close to people. If you come home, she will hurry out to welcome you warmly. Is reactive with people who are running towards her, but she quickly stops if you tell her no. With Dogs: Gets along well with her foster family’s dog. Previously, she got overstimulated when seeing other dogs on walks but through training, she now calms down quickly and focuses on treats. Growls at first when she meets a dog at a dog friendly cafe, but stays still when they keep their distance. Is possessive of toys and sometimes tries to threaten other dogs when they play with her toy. Is getting training to fix this behaviour. With Cats: Although she growls at cats on walks, she stops quickly and passes by if you tell her to go. Separation Anxiety: Experiences anxiety when left alone, barking and scratching at the door. Does not feel separation anxiety when with other dogs or strangers though. Potty Training: Is very good with using pee pads. However, she remembers the first spot it was placed, so consistency in pad location is key. Prefers to go outside if possible and marks with her pee only when outside. Hygiene: Does excellently with baths and toothbrushing, and enjoys brushing. Does not like having her ears cleaned, so mouths at her foster parent’s hand as a warning without biting. Is very afraid of nail clipping, so it’s mostly handled through walks. Walks: Gets aggressive when birds or cats pass by. On days when she’s feeling irritable, she lunges with overstimulation and doesn't calm down when she sees other dogs. But on good days, she immediately refocuses on her guardian upon being called. Tends to pull on the leash hard only when other dogs are around or if she’s in a rush to potty. Is reluctant to go for walks on dark or cold days. Car Sickness: No motion sickness during a two-hour drive. Caution is required as there may be defensive (warning) biting if she is suddenly pushed to the side, if someone puts their face too close, if picked up abruptly, if bothered when she is already tired, or during ear cleaning. Doesn’t bark even at strangers outside the door as long as they don’t ring the doorbell. Barks briefly when family returns to home. Loves food very much. While this used to lead to some sensitivity (resource guarding) around her foster sibling, this behavior has improved significantly. Doesn’t like being bothered. Is okay with her foster sibling, but doesn’t like other dogs. Understands commands such as 'Sit down', 'Lie down', 'Turn', 'Nose', 'V', 'Paw', 'Wait', and 'Kiss'! Is a cutie pie that loves people. However, she has an independent side and dislikes being bothered too much.
