Story
Meet Udong   Name: Udong Age: 1 year Gender: Neutered Male Breed: Welsh Corgi Mix Color: Brown & White Weight: 11 kg (24 lbs) Height: 30 cm (12 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story Udong was originally rescued from a dog meat farm before being transferred to a municipal shelter. Thankfully, he was rescued once again before his time ran out and is now waiting for the loving forever family he has always deserved.   ‍‍‍ Personality with People Udong is an incredibly affectionate and friendly boy who loves meeting both familiar faces and new people. He happily approaches strangers, leans in for pets, and enjoys human attention. Although sudden movements can occasionally startle him, he quickly recovers—especially if you call his name. He comes running over with his ears folded back in excitement. He is comfortable being picked up by supporting him under his belly, and once he feels comfortable with someone, he’ll happily roll over to show his belly for rubs.   Dog Social Skills Udong is very social with other dogs and enjoys greeting both familiar and unfamiliar canine friends. He especially likes playing with dogs around his own size. Rather than engaging with very energetic dogs, he usually chooses to avoid them, and if another dog acts rudely or challenges him, he prefers to walk away instead of reacting. While he gains confidence from dogs of a similar age, he would also do just fine as the only dog in the home.   Cats Udong has not yet been tested with cats, but a cat assessment can be arranged if needed.   Energy Level Udong has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor adventures and walks, then settles down nicely to relax and rest afterward.   Walks Udong is still gaining confidence on walks. He does well in quiet neighborhoods and peaceful environments but can be nervous around busy roads with heavy traffic. Passing cars and motorcycles may startle him briefly, but he recovers quickly and continues walking without becoming overly anxious. One of his favorite parts of a walk is stopping to sniff and explore the world around him.   Other Notes • Does not guard food from people or other dogs. • Rarely barks. • Rides calmly in a kennel or crate. • Currently potty trained for outdoor elimination.   Udong is a sweet, gentle, and easygoing companion with a loving personality. He would thrive with a patient family who can continue building his confidence while giving him plenty of affection. In return, he’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and his adorable Corgi smile. Apply to adopt : https://adoptmekr.org  PLEASE ALSO VISIT OUR FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM! Tully   Name: Tully Age: 3 years Breed: Welsh Corgi Mix Sex: Spayed Female Color: Brown & White Weight: 7.2 kg (15.9 lbs) Height: 33 cm (13 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story   Tully was rescued from a municipal shelter along with her puppies. Thankfully, all of her puppies have already found loving homes, and now it is Tully’s turn to find a family of her own.   ‍‍‍ Personality with People   Tully is an affectionate, social, and people-loving girl. She happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, leans in for affection, and enjoys being petted.   She loves women, men, and children alike, including children under 13 years old. Tully will often approach kids on her own to ask for pets and attention.   She is comfortable being picked up with an arm under her belly and, once she trusts someone, she will gladly roll over for belly rubs. If you stop petting her too soon, don’t be surprised if she politely asks for more!   Personality with Other Dogs   Tully is just as friendly with dogs as she is with people. She eagerly greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and often invites them to play.   She is especially gentle and nurturing with younger dogs and puppies. In fact, puppies with their own mothers often choose to follow Tully because of her sweet and caring personality.   She generally gets along best with dogs that are similar in size or smaller than herself.   Cats   Tully has not been tested with cats, but a cat test can be arranged for approved applicants.   Energy Level   Tully has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor adventures and activities, but once exercise time is over, she is happy to relax quietly by your side.   Walks & Exercise   Because Tully required medical treatment after her rescue, she has not had many opportunities for regular walks yet. However, she naturally follows people well, has shown no fear of being outdoors, and is expected to continue gaining confidence with consistent walks and positive experiences.   Additional Information   No food guarding toward people or other dogs Friendly and easygoing temperament Calm and quiet in a kennel or crate Currently accustomed to outdoor potty habits   May bark at unfamiliar people Can be vocal when asking for attention or something she wants   Ideal Home   Tully would thrive in a home looking for a loving, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to both people and other dogs. Her friendly nature, moderate energy level, and compact size make her a wonderful fit for many different households, including families with respectful children or another friendly dog.   After raising her puppies and watching them find homes of their own, it’s finally Tully’s turn to be someone’s beloved family member.   Could Tully be the missing piece of your family? Story
Hi, future family 🧡 My name is Nut, and I’m a 1-year-old boy with a round little body, short legs, and a face that makes people smile the moment they see me. I’m about 10kg, and people say I look like a mix of Shiba Inu, Welsh Corgi, and Jindo. Somehow, I got the best parts of all three — a bright Shiba face, the gentle charm of a Jindo, and tiny Corgi legs that wiggle along when I walk. Apparently, the way I toddle toward people is “extremely cute.” I hear that a lot. But before I got this second chance, my story was almost over. I was rescued from a city shelter just before euthanasia. If help had come any later, I wouldn’t be here today writing this to you. Even though my past was difficult, I still love people very much. I never stopped hoping someone kind would choose me. I’m actually pretty friendly when meeting new people. I like staying close to humans, and if you look at me or talk to me, my tail starts wagging almost immediately. I really enjoy attention, affection, and simply being near the people I love. I also get along well with other dogs and enjoy running around or relaxing beside dog friends. I do have one funny little habit though… Sometimes I get a tiny bit jealous. If another dog is getting all the attention, I might quietly squeeze my way in or try to remind everyone, “Hey… I’m here too!” But it’s not aggressive at all — it’s more like a little kid asking not to be forgotten. Honestly, I just love people so much that I want to be included in the love too. There’s something important I hope you understand about me: Living in a real home will be completely new for me. I’ve spent my life in shelter environments, so things like house routines, walking politely on leash, waiting alone, potty habits, and understanding family life are all things I’m still learning. At first, I might make mistakes, get overly curious, feel nervous in a new place, or show lots of puppy energy. But that doesn’t mean I’m a “bad” dog — it just means I’ve never truly had the chance to learn what family life feels like. Rescue dogs like me sometimes need time to adjust. For the first few days or weeks, I may seem shy, overwhelmed, or different from what you expected. New environments can feel scary at first. But if you stay patient and give me time, I promise I’ll slowly begin to relax, trust, and show you more and more of my real personality. And I think… my real personality is pretty lovable. I’m the little dog who trots after you on short legs. The one who looks at you with bright eyes whenever you call my name. The one who simply wants to be loved and included in your life. Once, I was standing at the edge of goodbye. Now, I’m waiting for a forever family who will give me a warm home, kind patience, and a life where I never have to feel unwanted again. If you choose me, I’ll spend the rest of my life loving you with my whole heart. 🧡

Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster homeHi, I'm Nire! 🤍🐾 My name is Nire, and I'm a 3-year-old Shiba Inu mix girl weighing 14.3 kg (31.5 lbs). I have bright round eyes, a happy smile, and a heart full of love just waiting for my forever family. Before I was rescued, life was not very kind to me. I was saved from a shelter where my future was uncertain, but you would never guess it from the way I greet each day. I love people, I love being loved, and I still believe the best is yet to come. When we first meet, I might be a little shy and cautious. New places and unfamiliar faces can make me nervous for a moment. But if you give me a little patience and kindness, I'll soon come over to say hello, ask for pets, and show you my sweet and affectionate side. I enjoy spending time with other dogs, but if I'm being honest, people are my favorite. Nothing makes me happier than going for a walk together, sharing quiet moments, making eye contact, and simply being near the people I love. I dream of a family who wants a loyal companion to share everyday life with.I'm a smaller-sized girl with a calm and gentle personality. I don't need to be the center of attention. I'm happiest quietly staying by your side, watching the world together. As our bond grows, you'll discover that I'm actually quite the little sweetheart who loves affection and may even follow you around the house just to be close to you. I'm still working on my potty training, but I'm eager to learn and adapt. Because I enjoy human companionship and respond well to gentle guidance, I believe I'll settle into home life beautifully with a family willing to help me along the way.I've already survived one difficult chapter in my life. Now I'm hoping for a new beginning—a home filled with love, patience, and belonging. I don't need anything fancy. I just want a family to love and a place where I can finally stay forever. Could that family be you?Love,Nire 🤍

*Note: Sogeum is currently in Vancouver waiting for his forever home. For more info about the dog or adoption application, please click here. BackgroundSogeum is a Corgi and Jindo mix who was rescued from a city pound in Hanam, Korea last year. He arrived there with his two siblings and was fortunate enough to find a foster home soon after. For six months, Sogeum lived with a family in an apartment where he enjoyed daily walks, outdoor time, and learning what it meant to be part of a home before making his journey to Canada. Now Sogeum is in Vancouver, patiently waiting for his forever family.Personality and SocializationSogeum is a gentle, happy, and friendly boy with a very soft nature. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but he warms up with patience and kindness. Once he feels comfortable, he becomes a loyal little shadow who loves following his people around the house. He has always shown very good manners with other dogs. Sogeum prefers calm and friendly companions and tends to avoid overly energetic or pushy dogs. He especially enjoys playing with dogs who match his gentle personality and energy level.Sogeum has not been tested with cats, but given his calm and sweet temperament, we believe he could do well with a slow and proper introduction.Whoever adopts Sogeum will be very lucky to have such a loving and devoted companion.BehavioursDuring his foster time in Korea, Sogeum adjusted very well to living in a home environment. He enjoyed going for walks and had nice leash manners. However, after his long flight to Canada and the big transition into a new environment, he is currently feeling nervous and cautious, especially about wearing a harness and going outside.Because of this, we are looking for a home with a securely fenced backyard where he can slowly regain his confidence at his own pace. In Korea, Sogeum loved spending time outdoors and playing with his dog friends, and we believe he will blossom again once he feels safe and settled. He has always been patient during baths, vet visits, and car rides. Sogeum currently uses indoor pee pads and enjoys quietly following his foster around the home.Health and DietSogeum is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He is up to date on deworming and receives monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry food twice a day and has not shown any signs of allergies.Ideal HomeSogeum is a sweet, affectionate, and loyal dog with a moderate energy level. Right now, he is still adjusting to his new life in Canada and needs a patient and understanding family who will give him time to settle in and build confidence again. An adopter with previous dog experience would be ideal. A detached home with a securely fenced backyard is very important for him at this stage, as outdoor access without pressure will help make his transition much smoother.Having another calm and friendly dog in the home would also be a huge bonus for Sogeum, as he truly enjoys the company of other dogs and used to love outdoor playtime with his friends.Sogeum is a very loving boy who simply needs someone willing to give him a second chance and a little time to feel safe again. In return, he will become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.🔗 Sogeum is ready to find his home:https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/sogeum/

Story
Hello, everyone!  I'm a vibrant 3-ish year old corgi mix and my name is Beene, affectionately known as Benny Boy by humans.  I can't stop smiling since I arrived in Canada in December 2023!  I have been fortunate to live with caring foster families who've helped me settle into my new life.  As a special-needs dog requiring diapers/belly bands for indoors, I am looking for an understanding and patient a person/family able to commit to my long-term care.  I'm a lively pup with lots of energy, endless love to give, and excitement for what is to come!  Breed: Corgi/Canaan DogAge: 3.5 yrsGender: MaleWeight: 45 lbsEnergy Level: moderateCountry of origin: Middle East                                                                                                                                                                                       Highlight(s): Special needs, energetic, affectionate, gentle                                                                                                                                                                                  Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoption fee is by donation.  Ideal home - Caring and patient human(s) understanding of his incontinence and able to change belly bands/diapers. Benny's story - Born in a small village in the Middle East, Benny’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. At just one month old, he was found whimpering alone under a tree. With his mother and littermates nowhere to be found. A kind human brought him to a shelter, where he spent 1.5 years sharing a small space with other dogs. Despite the challenges, Benny’s resilience and sweet personality shone through, eventually earning him a ticket to a new life in British Columbia. Benny has met several foster families who've cared for him deeply, and where he had the opportunity to live with other dogs, which he got along very well with.  Personality - Benny is a true sweetheart who lives for human affection. He’s known for gently placing his paw on your arm or leg as if to say, “It’s time for pets!” His soulful eyes are guaranteed to melt your heart. Though Benny can be a little timid when meeting new humans (especially men), he warms up quickly with patience and kindness. In fact, his current male foster won him over in just five minutes! Benny is a fast learner, eager to please, and very food-motivated, making training a breeze. He’s gentle, has no resource guarding, and is great with kids.Benny thrives in the company of playful canine friends and would love a home with another dog or access to regular dog park outings. He does not have any documented separation anxiety so he is fine to be left alone for a few hours. Special Needs - Benny’s incontinence issue is likely neurological (undiagnosed). He signals when he needs to go outside for bowel movements but struggles with bladder control; managed indoors with belly bands. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal to provide him space to run, play, and explore while making bathroom breaks easier for everyone.                               Fears: Some loud noises such as busy traffic can spook Benny. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Energy Level: moderate I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknown (has been cautiously curious from a distance)Kids: yes Training: understands and responds to his name.  Knows a few basic commands.  Please help me learn!Leash skills: some.  Please be prepared to train me/continue training.House trained: No. Incontinence problems.  Typically signals at the door when needing to release bowels.
