Story
Short legs, big ears, soft like a bunny, and a personality that could power a small city… Joey Jolly is the kind of dog that makes people smile the second they see him. With his corgi ears, little legs, and adorable smile paired with a lab-like body, he’s basically the perfect mashup of all the cutest features rolled into one ridiculously lovable boy. Watch his video and fall head over heels for this happy boy: https://youtu.be/INktC_6POT4?si=YpHn7F3Yg4i6L5N2 Joey Jolly is believed to be a Corgi mix, approximately 2 years old. With rescue dogs, it’s always a bit of a mystery and we can’t guarantee breed, but we’d confidently say he got the best of everything. The ears, the legs, the tail, and the happy personality to match. He’s the definition of fun-sized and currently weighs 46 lbs, so don’t let his pictures fool you. He’s a short king and the perfect in-between size. Not too big, not too small… just right! Also, we gotta talk about his eyes! They are so gorgeous and so unique! One is a solid caramel brown color while the other is half that caramel brown while the other half is icy blue. They are stunning and just adds to his charm. This boy absolutely loves people. He’s incredibly happy, joyful, and affectionate, and he isn’t shy about showing it. Joey thrives on attention, happily leans in for cuddles, and has the kind of bubbly personality that makes him a joy to be around. Whether he’s following you around the house, curling up next to you, or greeting you with his signature happy energy, he just makes life more fun. His foster has two kids, ages 12 and 16, and she says he does great with them. Joey also had the chance to spend time with a 5 year old and based on what we observed, he was comfortable and relaxed around a 5 year old. He took treats from the 5 year and even sat for him! We honestly didn't know if he knew how to sit but he certainly did for the little boy! Joey is dog friendly and he is currently fostered in a home with a senior 12 year old chihuahua and as well as a cat and does great with both of them. Joey truly seemed to LOVE all of the dogs we introduced him to and honestly looked like he was having the absolute time of his life. He was zooming around the yard, playing chase, sharing toys, and happily bouncing from dog to dog with this goofy happy energy that was impossible not to smile at. His play style is more playful and fun-loving rather than rough and over-the-top, and he seemed to really enjoy dogs that wanted to run around and be silly with him. While we definitely think Joey would probably love having a playful doggy companion in the home, he does not need another dog around in order to feel comfortable or open up. He’s naturally just a happy, social little fella that brings the fun wherever he goes. He also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around him as well. As stated previously, Joey is also currently fostered in a home with a cat and does great with his foster’s cat. Joey has such a well-balanced personality. He’s happy, silly, adventurous, and cuddly all at once. He loves toys (especially stuffy toys) and is great at entertaining himself when needed. He would be a wonderful fit for a semi-active family, but he’s also calm enough to be a great companion for someone who works from home. He’s just as happy going on an adventure as he is relaxing by your side afterward. He’s crate trained, potty trained, and walks fairly well on a leash. Of course, he will pull out of excitement here and there and like with any dog, leash skills can always use some fine tuning. Joey also knows how to sit (sometimes), is eager to please, and walks nicely on a leash. He also rides well in a car and can jump in and out without assistance. He has the potential to thrive in an apartment with proper exercise and socialization and would also thrive in a home with a backyard. His ears might be what first catches your eye, but it’s his happy-go-lucky personality that really steals the show. Joey is the kind of dog that brings fun, affection, and laughter into your everyday life. He’s adorable, easy to love, and ready to be someone’s joyful little sidekick. We are willing to test Joey Jolly with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen. Just let us know! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
This is probably the hardest decision I’ve had to make concerning a pet. I adopted Peanut when she was 6 months old. She was very possessive over food, treats, and toys. Over the past 4 years, she has become increasingly more hostile towards our 10 year old, calm and docile pit bull mix. As of late she has attacked him weekly and sometimes daily, completely unprovoked. She is not allowed near our guests, other pets or children as she tends to get overstimulated easily and will nip or growl. She is extremely loving and loyal to me, but has no room in her heart for more than one person/owner. She loves fetch, hikes, walks, and snuggles (but only with me). She MUST be in a home with only one adult, no other pets and no children. She is a great dog that simply deserves an environment with only one person/owner. She is in excellent health, up to date on vaccines, chipped and house trained. She will make an incredible companion for the right person. She weighs 34lbs.
