Story
Short legs, big ears, soft like a bunny, and a personality that could power a small city… Joey Jolly is the kind of dog that makes people smile the second they see him. With his corgi ears, little legs, and adorable smile paired with a lab-like body, he’s basically the perfect mashup of all the cutest features rolled into one ridiculously lovable boy. Watch his video and fall head over heels for this happy boy: https://youtu.be/INktC_6POT4?si=YpHn7F3Yg4i6L5N2 Joey Jolly is believed to be a Corgi mix, approximately 2 years old. With rescue dogs, it’s always a bit of a mystery and we can’t guarantee breed, but we’d confidently say he got the best of everything. The ears, the legs, the tail, and the happy personality to match. He’s the definition of fun-sized and currently weighs 46 lbs, so don’t let his pictures fool you. He’s a short king and the perfect in-between size. Not too big, not too small… just right! Also, we gotta talk about his eyes! They are so gorgeous and so unique! One is a solid caramel brown color while the other is half that caramel brown while the other half is icy blue. They are stunning and just adds to his charm. This boy absolutely loves people. He’s incredibly happy, joyful, and affectionate, and he isn’t shy about showing it. Joey thrives on attention, happily leans in for cuddles, and has the kind of bubbly personality that makes him a joy to be around. Whether he’s following you around the house, curling up next to you, or greeting you with his signature happy energy, he just makes life more fun. His foster has two kids, ages 12 and 16, and she says he does great with them. Joey also had the chance to spend time with a 5 year old and based on what we observed, he was comfortable and relaxed around a 5 year old. He took treats from the 5 year and even sat for him! We honestly didn't know if he knew how to sit but he certainly did for the little boy! Joey is dog friendly and he is currently fostered in a home with a senior 12 year old chihuahua and as well as a cat and does great with both of them. Joey truly seemed to LOVE all of the dogs we introduced him to and honestly looked like he was having the absolute time of his life. He was zooming around the yard, playing chase, sharing toys, and happily bouncing from dog to dog with this goofy happy energy that was impossible not to smile at. His play style is more playful and fun-loving rather than rough and over-the-top, and he seemed to really enjoy dogs that wanted to run around and be silly with him. While we definitely think Joey would probably love having a playful doggy companion in the home, he does not need another dog around in order to feel comfortable or open up. He’s naturally just a happy, social little fella that brings the fun wherever he goes. He also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. He did not chase Biggie, nor was he bothered by Biggie jumping or doing what cats do. Biggie also felt comfortable around him as well. As stated previously, Joey is also currently fostered in a home with a cat and does great with his foster’s cat. Joey has such a well-balanced personality. He’s happy, silly, adventurous, and cuddly all at once. He loves toys (especially stuffy toys) and is great at entertaining himself when needed. He would be a wonderful fit for a semi-active family, but he’s also calm enough to be a great companion for someone who works from home. He’s just as happy going on an adventure as he is relaxing by your side afterward. He’s crate trained, potty trained, and walks fairly well on a leash. Of course, he will pull out of excitement here and there and like with any dog, leash skills can always use some fine tuning. Joey also knows how to sit (sometimes), is eager to please, and walks nicely on a leash. He also rides well in a car and can jump in and out without assistance. He has the potential to thrive in an apartment with proper exercise and socialization and would also thrive in a home with a backyard. His ears might be what first catches your eye, but it’s his happy-go-lucky personality that really steals the show. Joey is the kind of dog that brings fun, affection, and laughter into your everyday life. He’s adorable, easy to love, and ready to be someone’s joyful little sidekick. We are willing to test Joey Jolly with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen. Just let us know! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
**MIA** A friend in California rescued Mia after her previous owner abandoned her and her sister at a groomer. Mia is a 5-year-old female Dorgi, a mix of Corgi and Dachshund. She is intelligent, protective, loving, and independent. Trusting new people may take her a few days, but treats can help. Once comfortable, Mia loves belly rubs, playing with her toys, chewing on her split Elk antler, and running around the yard. She has a great personality and is incredibly loyal to her favorite human. Mia does not require constant attention and is happy to sit and chew on her antler while her owner works. However, when it's time for affection, she will put down her antler to enjoy quality time with her human. Mia's need for a loving owner will inspire compassion and care in anyone who meets her. What Mia Needs: Mia needs a home without children or small animals, as she prefers to be the only pet. She loves attention and requires someone to provide her with plenty of love and care. Additionally, she needs a fenced yard for potty breaks and walks. Keeping her on a healthy, canine-specific diet to ensure her well-being is essential and reflects your commitment and responsibility as an owner. We will offer comprehensive guidance on how to care for her. Most importantly, Mia needs a loving person dedicated to keeping her forever and will never abandon her again. MIA is very protective and needs proper introductions with new people, as she will try to protect her human and her home (it's a trait of the corgi-dachshund if not kept well socialized). Once she meets new people and sees them consistently, she makes friends. I will guide you in proper introductions. Mia needs a small animal and a child-free home. She does prefer women and will excel as a companion to a single woman who wants a loyal and protective one. Mia is a watchdog and will aggressively protect you and the home if a stranger comes to the door. How Can You Meet Mia? To meet Mia, please use the link provided to apply. One of our volunteers will review your application, contact you to answer any questions, and determine whether you are a good match for Mia.  Mia has transitioned to a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and follows a healthy, canine-specific feeding regimen. We will educate her adopters about proper diet and nutrition.  There is a $350.00 adoption fee to adopt Mia. All funds will be used to cover her medical care and to help rescue more dogs in need   www.smallpupsrescue.org  May 10, 2026, 11:44 am

Story
This is probably the hardest decision I’ve had to make concerning a pet. I adopted Peanut when she was 6 months old. She was very possessive over food, treats, and toys. Over the past 4 years, she has become increasingly more hostile towards our 10 year old, calm and docile pit bull mix. As of late she has attacked him weekly and sometimes daily, completely unprovoked. She is not allowed near our guests, other pets or children as she tends to get overstimulated easily and will nip or growl. She is extremely loving and loyal to me, but has no room in her heart for more than one person/owner. She loves fetch, hikes, walks, and snuggles (but only with me). She MUST be in a home with only one adult, no other pets and no children. She is a great dog that simply deserves an environment with only one person/owner. She is in excellent health, up to date on vaccines, chipped and house trained. She will make an incredible companion for the right person. She weighs 34lbs.

Story
**Charlie and Cody: Bonded Dachshund-Corgi Mix Brothers**   Charlie and Cody are gentle, reserved brothers, approx. 15 months old, both neutered. They were left at the shelter with their three sisters, and after being separated from them, the boys formed a strong bond. Now, they are affectionate and starting to enjoy life in the Pacific Northwest. They are gradually building trust with their foster family and getting used to their new home. Both are safe, well-fed, and comfortable. They are up to date on vaccinations and have no known health issues, so they are ready for adoption. Their foster home does not have a fenced yard, and because Cody and Charlie are still settling in, they have not yet started using harnesses or going for walks on a leash.  We hope the boys can be adopted together into a home with a fenced yard, so they have a safe place for potty breaks and can learn to walk on a harness and leash. Cody and Charlie might be shy at first, but they are curious and want to connect with people. They are motivated by food and will gladly take treats from your hand. They like being spoken to and respond well to a gentle voice. With time, patience, and love, they will become devoted companions. We prefer adopters who have experience with shy or untrained dogs, or who are open to guidance, to help the boys adjust smoothly to their new home. We do not know if they have been around children, so we recommend a home without kids or with children over 12. The Corgi-Dachshund mix, also known as a “Dorgi,” was first bred by Queen Elizabeth of the UK. Because they have a prey drive, they should not live with small animals or cats . **Adopting Cody and  Charlie **  To  adopt Cody and Charlie, please use the link below. One of our volunteers will review your application, follow up with you to ask questions, address any concerns, and see if you are a good match for these pups. If you are a match, the next step will be a meet-and-greet. Please use a computer to fill out the application, as tablets and cell phones may cause issues. The boys now eat a human-grade diet that avoids kibble and focuses on healthy, dog-specific food. We will teach their adopters about proper diet and nutrition. The adoption fee for adopting the boys together is $595 and includes neuter, all vaccines, and a microchip. www.smallpupsrescue.org  May 10, 2026, 11:44 am

**Libby** Libby is a 17-pound, 1-year-old female Dachshund-Corgi mix. She was found with her sister, Lexxi, running with stray dogs that had been dumped in Fresno, California.  Libby is closely bonded to her sister, and we would love to find a forever home for them together. The ideal adopter(s) should be experienced with dogs and familiar with rescue situations, as both dogs are fearful of men. A supportive and caring environment is essential, especially if there is a male in the household. The male will need to be actively involved in feeding and caring for them to earn their trust, as they tend to trust women first. from their foster:  Libby (the tan one) is the outgoing sister—loyal, people-loving, and always ready to be your shadow. If you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, she’s a certified snuggle pro. She also walks nicely on a leash. These two adore each other, bring zero drama, and are impressively quiet—they’d make absolutely terrible guard dogs, but perfect companions. The girls are up to date on vaccines and need to be spayed. Rompin Paws can work with adopters to arrange a spay at our vet, or adopters can take them to their vet. The current adoption fee does not include spaying costs. This may be updated if they are spayed prior to adoption. These girls are young and can be trained to be lovely family members.  Their foster has begun working with them, providing harness and lead training, but they will require more work. We do recommend a child-free home because of their anxiety and trauma from being dumped. They need a calm, adult-only home. If you have the time, love, experience, and willingness to help these two sweet girls work through their trauma so they can become loving and loved family members, we would love to chat with you. We are open to a foster-to-adopt period, allowing ample time for potential adopters to work with Libby and get to know her. **Adopting Libby** To adopt Libby, please use the link below. The adopter(s) will need to be very dog- and rescue-savvy, as both dogs are fearful of men. If there is a male in the home, he will need to be an equal partner in feeding and care in order to win their trust, as they will trust a woman first. Meet Marty 🐾💙—our golden-age king, ready for his cozy, soft-life era. After losing his beloved owner, Marty is looking for a new love story—and he has so much heart to give. At 11 years young, this proud tripod (three legs, 100% icon energy) has been through a lot, but you’d never know it from his gentle, marshmallow-soft spirit. Marty is an Olympic-level lounger, a cuddle expert, and a devoted little shadow. His perfect home? Marty does great with dogs who stay out of his space, and does best with off leash meets. He can be a bit rude at first but with some guidance her remembers he has manners and can be respectful to other dogs. He seems to prefer smaller dogs over large. He may do well with respectful older kids, and his thoughts on cats remain a bit of a mystery. If you’re ready to give a sweet senior the peaceful, love-filled chapter he deserves, Marty is waiting.
