Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Buttercup is a 7âyearâold Pembroke Welsh Corgi who is beyond loving and affectionate. She truly believes the world revolves around her people, and in her mind, there is no such thing as too much love. Full of kisses, corgi smiles, and happy little bounces, she brings joy wherever she goes. Recently released from a breeding situation, Buttercup is discovering the comfort of living in a real home, and she is absolutely thriving. She starts off a bit shy, but once she feels safe, she becomes your devoted little shadow. Whether you’re heading to the kitchen, stepping into the bathroom, working in the garden, or going for a car ride, Buttercup is ready to join you. Anywhere her people go, Buttercup is happy to go. If you bend down to tie your shoes or pick something up, expect a gentle nudge—she believes every moment is an opportunity for affection. She greets her family with joyful corgi bounces and loves being the first to say hello. Whether curled up next to you on the couch or resting at your feet, she is happiest when she’s close to her humans. Buttercup gets along well with other dogs, though she would also be perfectly content as an only dog. Because of her past, she can be unsure around new or overly enthusiastic dogs. She’ll politely ask for space with a soft rumble when she needs it, but once she’s comfortable, she enjoys gentle play and companionship. Her classic corgi grin makes those moments even sweeter. She is fully crate trained and making wonderful progress with house training. Buttercup may still mark initially in a new environment, but once she learns your routine, she understands what to do and when to go. She responds immediately to a firm “no” and learns quickly. She even enjoys being brushed and pampered. Buttercup is still building confidence on a leash—not fearful, just unsure—so for now she requires a fully fenced yard. With time and patience, she is expected to become more comfortable on walks. Buttercup hasn’t been around young children, and as a herding breed, she may do best in a home with older kids (10+). She is a gentle, affectionate girl who wants nothing more than a family to adore. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will follow you from room to room, supervise your daily activities, and fill your home with warmth, Buttercup may be your perfect match.
