Story
Solmi's story is one of resilience, hope, and second chances. Before joining the safety of the rescue, Solmi was placed on the euthanasia list at a city shelter in South Korea. Thankfully, the rescue team reached her in time, and she arrived at Big Dog in April 2025. Since then, she has shown everyone exactly who she is-a gentle, loving girl whose greatest joy is simply being close to people. If you're looking for a dog who will happily curl up beside you after a walk, Solmi is your girl. She absolutely adores affection and will gladly lean in for pets, cuddles, and gentle hugs. Her calm, affectionate nature makes her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. Solmi has limited experience with children, so a home with respectful older children would be the best fit. She also enjoys spending time with other dogs, happily running and playing in the yard before settling down for a well-earned nap. While she doesn't need another dog in the home, she would do well either as an only dog or with a friendly canine companion. She is currently learning her house manners. She is also becoming comfortable with her crate and is learning that it can be a safe, cozy place to relax. Although she has shown no reaction to cats, introductions would need to be managed thoughtfully, and further cat testing can be arranged if needed. After everything she has been through, Solmi hasn't lost her trust in people. In fact, she seems to believe that everyone she meets could become her next friend. She has so much love to give and is simply waiting for a family who will give her the happy ending she has always deserved. Their owner no longer wanted them, and they were left without the care and protection they deserved. Our shelter manager found them and brought them to safety.Personality and SocializationGomgom has quickly shown everyone what a happy and social boy he is. He is friendly with both men and women, comfortable around children, and loves spending time with other dogs. He especially enjoys playing with dogs who have a similar energy level and playful spirit. Affectionate and full of charm, Gomgom loves being involved and is always happy to join in the fun.Gomgom has not had any experience with cats. Because he is curious and may enjoy chasing them, a home without cats would likely be the best fit for him.BehavioursGomgom is a very easy dog to live with. He prefers to do his business outdoors and enjoys going for walks. He rides well in the car, behaves nicely during veterinary visits and bath time, and walks well on leash.Gomgom may not do well being left alone or being confined for extended periods of time. He may become stressed and bark when he feels isolated or unable to be with his people. Other than that, Gomgom is a fun, affectionate, and loving boy who is a joy to be around. He has a wonderful personality and brings lots of laughs, warmth, and happiness to everyone around him.Health and DietGombyul is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and receives regular parasite prevention. He is healthy and ready for his forever home.He has no known medical conditions or allergies and eats dry kibble twice a day.Ideal HomeGomgom would do best with someone who is home most of the time, such as someone who works from home or is retired. Rather than living in a condo, he would likely be much happier in a house with a backyard where he can enjoy more space and time outdoors.More than anything, Gomgom loves spending time with his people. His ideal family would enjoy a quiet but engaged lifestyle and be ready to share life’s everyday moments and adventures with him. A family who wants to enjoy the journey together with a happy, playful, affectionate companion would be a wonderful match for Gomgom.*Note: Gomgom is currently in Korea, but he will arrive in Toronto once adopted. For more info about him, please click here.

QUICK FACTS Name: Enyo Age: About 6 Months Old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Corgi – Jindo Mix Color: White Weight: 6kg / 13.2lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was born in the countryside to a loving mom who did her best to care for me and my siblings. When rescuers learned about us, they wanted to save our whole family. Sadly, my mom couldn't leave, but they were able to bring my siblings and I to safety. Because of that second chance, I'm now safe and dreaming of a bright future. My journey may have started with uncertainty, but it's filled with hope now—and I'm waiting for a foster or forever family to help me write the happiest chapter yet.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a gentle little soul with a sweet and calm personality. At first, I might be a bit shy when meeting new people, but I don’t stay that way for long—once I feel comfortable, I quickly warm up and show my affectionate, loving side. I really enjoy being close to people and I’m quite affectionate, often showing my cute personality once I trust you. I also have a calm energy level for my age, and I tend to bring a peaceful, quiet presence wherever I go. I don’t think anyone has really heard me bark much at all. People often say I’m incredibly cute, with a bit of a corgi-like charm that makes me stand out in the sweetest way. With a little patience and love, I’ll blossom into a very affectionate companion who loves being close and sharing quiet, happy moments together.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy when meeting someone new, but a tasty treat is the fastest way to my heart! Once I know you, I warm up quickly and enjoy being petted and spending time together. I’m comfortable being picked up with support under my belly, which can make handling and caring for me easier. I haven’t had the opportunity to meet children under 13 years old yet, so my behavior around young children is still unknown. · With Dogs: I enjoy calmly greeting unfamiliar dogs when I meet them, taking the time to acknowledge them in a polite and friendly way, even if I don’t usually engage in play. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy outdoor activities and after spending time outside, I am happy to settle down and rest calmly. I am currently in training for walking on leash, and I am learning how to enjoy walks in a steady and controlled way.   TRAINING & HABITS I do not guard my food and am relaxed and comfortable around both people and other dogs when eating. I rarely bark and tend to stay quiet in most situations. I am calm and well-behaved when placed in a kennel or crate. I am potty-trained for both indoor pee pads and outdoor bathroom breaks.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES    ENYO'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2756927##

Story
Hello! My name is Diana, and I'm a 1-year-old girl weighing 7.9kg. I'm looking for a family who will love me for exactly who I am. When I was about five or six months old, I was found wandering the streets alone after becoming separated from my mom. I was taken to a shelter, where I sadly ended up on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, I was rescued before it was too late. Since then, I've been living with a wonderful foster family for the past five months, learning what it means to be loved and how to enjoy life as part of a family. When I first arrive somewhere new, I can be a little shy. I like to quietly observe my surroundings before I jump in. But don't worry—I warm up quickly! After a few hours, you'll see me exploring with curiosity, and within a day or two, I'm usually greeting my people with a happily wagging tail. I truly love people, especially the family I'm close to. When we go for walks, I don't avoid strangers. Instead, I like to politely walk over, sniff hello, and satisfy my curiosity. I can be a little more cautious around adult men at first, but I've never shown any aggression. I simply appreciate a little extra time to build trust. Children are my friends too! I've happily spent time with kids of all ages, from elementary school to high school, and I often enjoy following them around just to see what they're doing. I'm also wonderful with other animals. I get along well with other dogs, although I'm usually polite rather than overly outgoing. If another dog is introduced to me, I'll happily exchange greetings with a gentle sniff. Even if another dog barks at me, I prefer to quietly walk away instead of responding. I currently live with a 15-year-old cat, and we've learned to be respectful roommates. If the cat wants space, I understand and happily give it to them. I think everyone deserves their own comfort zone. I've become very comfortable living indoors. I use my pee pad reliably and can potty both inside and outside, although I prefer going outdoors during walks. I don't have separation anxiety and stay calm when left alone. I also don't chew furniture or destroy household items. Instead, I like entertaining myself with stuffed toys or little balls, and I'm happy to play quietly on my own. I also don't guard my food or toys, so sharing life with me is easy. Although I haven't had formal crate training, I actually enjoy spending time in my crate. Sometimes I'll even go inside by myself to relax or play with my toys. Every night, I happily jump onto the bed and curl up near my foster family's feet before falling asleep. Being close to my people makes me feel safe. 🤍 Walks are one of my favorite parts of the day! I can get a little excited and like to walk slightly ahead, but I'm easy to handle, even for someone with a smaller build. In secure off-leash areas, I love to run and play, but I naturally stay close to my person. I still need some practice with recall training, but I'm eager to keep learning. The only thing I don't really enjoy is long car rides. I get motion sickness, so I may drool after the car starts moving, and trips longer than two hours can sometimes make me nauseous. At home, I'm a very quiet girl. I rarely bark at outside noises or delivery sounds. If I hear the doorbell or someone touching the doorknob, I might give one soft bark to let you know someone is there. I'm not an escape artist either, so I adapt very well to apartment living. If you give me a little patience in the beginning, I'll reward you with a lifetime of love. One of my favorite things is having my chest gently stroked. When you do, my eyes slowly soften, and I look up at you with the happiest little smile. Those quiet moments are my favorite. I spent the beginning of my life wondering if I would survive. Thanks to my rescue and foster family, I now know what love feels like. My biggest wish is to find a family who will continue that story and love me for the rest of my life. I may take a little time to open my heart, but once I do, you'll have a loyal, gentle, and loving best friend by your side.

QUICK FACTS Name: Lia Age: About 3 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Corgi – Jindo Mix Color: Light Brown Weight: 12kg / 26.4lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was once on the euthanasia list at a city shelter. Just before my time ran out, someone chose to save me. Because of that moment, I’ve been given a second chance—and now I’m ready to find a home where I can truly belong.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Lia and I have a cute, corgi-like body that people seem to love, and I’ve got a playful side too—especially when toys are involved! Once I start to relax, you’ll see more of that fun, curious energy come out. I also really enjoy food, which makes me quick to learn and easy to train. I’m smart, eager, and ready to grow with the right guidance. Right now, I just need a bit of time, patience, and a safe space to settle in. I’m still at the beginning of my journey, but I have all the potential to become a loving, happy companion. If you’re willing to take those first steps with me, I’ll be right there—learning, growing, and slowly giving you my whole heart.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m naturally friendly and affectionate, and I don’t take long to warm up. I’ll come right up to you, lean my body in, and happily accept all the pets you’re willing to give. I just enjoy being around humans—it’s where I feel most at ease. I’m comfortable being picked up and handled and once we’ve built a bond, you’ll see my soft side—I’ll roll over and show you my belly, completely relaxed and trusting. I haven’t met children under 13 yet, so I’d do best with thoughtful introductions if I ever do. · With Dogs: I’m a friendly soul who just loves being around others. I feel most at ease when I’m not alone—having another dog nearby gives me comfort and confidence, like I have a little teammate by my side. I’m very social with other dogs and enjoy greeting both familiar and new friends. I’ll gently approach to say hello and often invite them to play. I tend to bond especially well with dogs of a similar size, and I’m not one to get into trouble—if things get tense, I’d much rather step away than argue. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I’m a great mix of playful and calm. I enjoy my outdoor time, but once I’ve had my fun, I’m perfectly happy to relax and unwind. I can be a bit enthusiastic on the leash and may pull here and there, but I naturally like to stay near my person and take cues from them. Peaceful walks are my favorite. I’m comfortable in quiet areas, but busy streets with lots of cars can feel overwhelming, so I prefer a slower, calmer pace while I build confidence.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m comfortable sharing space and don’t guard my food, whether I’m with people or other dogs. I rarely bark. I do well settling in a kennel and stay relaxed when I’m inside I’m adaptable with both indoor and outdoor potty routines.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I tend to lean on other dogs for comfort, so I feel much more at ease and confident when I have a furry friend by my side.    LIA'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2720329##
