Story
Hi everyone, I'm Macy, a 7 year old 41 pound purebred Corgi looking for a belly rub. I mean it: one belly rub and I'll be your best friend. When you're not rubbing my belly I'd be happy to go on short walks. We need to walk a little slow though because I have very short legs. But walking would definitely be good for me since I'm trying to lose weight, for sure I need a diet and a supportive friend to help me through it. Belly rubs will also help. I wonder if maybe you could teach me how to swim? I like the water and it would be a good, safe exercise for me. As for indoor activities, I would thoroughly enjoy lying on your lap and following you around the house, just waiting for my next chance to be petted or receive a belly rub. I'm a really happy girl who loves attention and wants to connect and be all yours! Did I mention I love a belly rub? Seriously, I'm ready anytime!Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. Story
This purebred Corgi puppy mill rescue with gorgeous amber eyes is about 5 years old and 34 pounds. You haven’t lived until you’ve had a cuddle from Tasha! Or kisses! Seriously, they’re fabulous! Tasha has given our volunteers lots of kisses since she has arrived and seems to enjoy meeting all new people. She’s less enthusiastic about other dogs so she would probably do better as the only dog in your home. She’s been through a lot, so in time, we’re certain she’ll be able to have doggie friends. This adorable, tricolor Corgi started out a bit hesitant walking on the leash, but with a little praise she started feeling more confident. With more practice she’s bound to improve her leash walking skills even more. She enjoys exploring and is treat motivated, so training so should be a breeze. Tasha is eager to meet you! So what are you waiting for?! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. Story
Foxy is a wonderful 6.5-year-old Corgi/Shiba Inu mix who is looking for her forever home. Weighing 39 pounds, Foxy is a beautiful and incredibly intelligent dog with a loving personality that shines once she builds trust. Foxy thrives on daily exercise, enjoying walks, playtime, and mental stimulation. She is house-trained and knows basic commands. Her favorite things include playing fetch, chewing on her toys, and relaxing with her licky pad. Foxy would do best in a calm, structured home with an owner experienced in handling reactive dogs. She can be wary of new people and other dogs, but with patience, consistency, and understanding, she quickly opens up to reveal her goofy and affectionate nature. Story
Little Sophie 💔 We believe Sophie to be a Corgi mix, approximately 2–3 years old (age is just a guess). She came from a hoarding situation in Texas and is currently in foster in Danbury, CT. Sophie is very shy and will need a home that understands she needs time and patience to come out of her shell. She is not a dog that will adjust overnight—she needs someone willing to let her decompress and feel safe at her own pace. A quiet, non-hectic home is a must for Sophie. She would do best in a calm environment where she can slowly build confidence. She is good with dogs and cats. Story
Meet Peanut  Peanut is a 4-year-old male Cowboy Corgi (a Corgi and Australian Cattle Dog mix) weighing about 30 pounds. With his compact size and big personality, Peanut is the perfect mix of playful energy and loyal companionship. Peanut has grown up in a loving home and is known for his sweet, easygoing nature. He gets along well with other dogs and has been great with kids, making him a wonderful potential family companion. While he hasn’t been around cats yet, his friendly temperament suggests he may adjust with proper introductions.  He has been trained to go on wee wee pads and will be assessed to see if goes outside on a leash too.  Sadly, Peanut’s mom has become ill and can no longer care for him, so he is now looking for a new family who will give him the love and stability he deserves. He’s a devoted little guy who bonds closely with his people and will happily join you for walks, playtime, or just relaxing at home.  He comes to NJ toward the end of March, excited to meet new people.  If you’re looking for a loyal, friendly dog with a big heart in a perfectly sized package, Peanut may be the one for you. He’s ready to start his next chapter with a family who will love him as much as he’ll love them.  To adopt Peanut, please go to www.peace4paws.org/adoption-application and complete the application on a laptop or computer. If you have specific adoption or foster questions, please email: judy.atchison@yahoo.com THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN RESCUING A DOG!
