Story
Sometimes we get the most unusual phone calls that prick our heart with the intensity of a desperate need, even if they are a thousand miles away.   Trooper, and some of his friends from New Mexico have entered our world and we are trying to help.  There's a rural shelter in a small town in New Mexico that very few people stop in to adopt. But yet, the drop offs continue to build, and adoptions do not match the number of dogs in the shelter.  A very dedicated and passionate rescue woman that drives her own independent tractor trailer, moving loads of cargo in freight from state to state, from job to job, has learned that she must stop in at that shelter and check out what they have on the euthanasia list.  She is an independent lady who champions the underdogs.  She gave Critter Cavalry  a call and told us about a number of small breed dogs that are under twenty pounds that needed a rescue to save them.  Critter Cavalry signed up. Trooper is an adorable 6 month old small breed boy that we think is a Chiweenie. Trooper, is a beautiful boy who is six months old and weighs 8 pounds and will most probably top out as an adult boy at 15 pounds. He is cuddly, shy and great with other dogs. If you are interested in giving this sweet boy a beautiful life and future, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 22, 2026, 10:13 pm

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️💟Available to fly to JFK/EWR💟The prices listed are based on USD, and the adoption fee will be calculated in CAD according to the exchange rate.Meet Victor❤️💙 Victor's News Account: @jjamooong._1.) Health Condition Spayed. Microchipped and negative for heartworm upon retest (treatment complete). Due to a small fracture in her right molars and tartar buildup, special care is taken to brush her teeth.2.) Rescue Story Victor was rescued by an Adogs volunteer while she was tied up tightly in a gravel lot. When found, she had clearly been neglected for a long time — food that had gone bad was piled next to her, and she looked frightened. But as soon as she felt safe, she wagged her tail and approached.3.) Basic Information With People: Might bark briefly when strangers visit, but this has improved recently. Wags her tail and asks for petting when she meets strangers during walks. Acts cute and flops down comfortably when being petted by familiar people. Loves cuddling close to people. If you come home, she will hurry out to welcome you warmly. Is reactive with people who are running towards her, but she quickly stops if you tell her no. With Dogs: Gets along well with her foster family’s dog. Previously, she got overstimulated when seeing other dogs on walks but through training, she now calms down quickly and focuses on treats. Growls at first when she meets a dog at a dog friendly cafe, but stays still when they keep their distance. Is possessive of toys and sometimes tries to threaten other dogs when they play with her toy. Is getting training to fix this behaviour. With Cats: Although she growls at cats on walks, she stops quickly and passes by if you tell her to go. Separation Anxiety: Experiences anxiety when left alone, barking and scratching at the door. Does not feel separation anxiety when with other dogs or strangers though. Potty Training: Is very good with using pee pads. However, she remembers the first spot it was placed, so consistency in pad location is key. Prefers to go outside if possible and marks with her pee only when outside. Hygiene: Does excellently with baths and toothbrushing, and enjoys brushing. Does not like having her ears cleaned, so mouths at her foster parent’s hand as a warning without biting. Is very afraid of nail clipping, so it’s mostly handled through walks. Walks: Gets aggressive when birds or cats pass by. On days when she’s feeling irritable, she lunges with overstimulation and doesn't calm down when she sees other dogs. But on good days, she immediately refocuses on her guardian upon being called. Tends to pull on the leash hard only when other dogs are around or if she’s in a rush to potty. Is reluctant to go for walks on dark or cold days. Enjoys it if children approach calmly and quietly to pet her. Car Sickness: No motion sickness during a two-hour drive. Biting: Caution is required as there may be defensive (warning) biting if she is suddenly pushed to the side, if someone puts their face too close, if picked up abruptly, or during ear cleaning. Barking: Doesn’t bark even at strangers outside the door as long as they don’t ring the doorbell. Barks briefly when family returns to home. Likes: Loves food very much. While this used to lead to some sensitivity (resource guarding) around her foster sibling, this behavior has improved significantly. Dislikes: Doesn’t like being bothered. Is okay with her foster sibling, but doesn’t like other dogs. Understands commands such as 'Sit down', 'Lie down', 'Turn', 'Nose', 'V', 'Paw', 'Wait', and 'Kiss'!* Personality: Is a cutie pie that loves people. However, she has an independent side and dislikes being bothered too much.

Story
Coco is a sweet girl who will steal your heart once she gets to know you...just look at that smile! She will take a little time to warm up, but once she does, she will be your best friend forever. Coco loves belly rubs, snuggles, playtime in the yard, playing fetch and going for walks. Coco finds city living a little too hectic, and is not suited for apartment living. She will do well in an adult only home...a house with a fenced in yard. She is a little snobby and can be dog selective when it cones to choosing canine buddies. Coco would appreciate a dedicated, enthusiastic companion who will work on building her trust, and she will return that love and trust twofold.Be sure to complete an application on line and come to our Meet & Greet Saturdays 11:30-1:30. If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application directly to our website at www.ny-petrescue.org. Only applications submitted directly to Petrescue will be considered.

Story
Chico is a fun-loving little boy who loves to go for walks in the neighborhood as well as exploring new places on hikes around Westchester and beyond. He also loves to play with his squeaky toys when he is not cuddling on the couch with his favorite humans. He is a lowrider who is sure to bring joy to any family. Chico has manners...He sleeps in his crate at night, doesn’t wake his foster mom in the morning, but waits until she wakes, for his first walk. He plays well with children and knows basic commands such as sit and heel, and is fully housebroken. Chico will bring fun and joy to any family! Story
Hi everyone, I'm Macy, a 7 year old 41 pound purebred Corgi looking for a belly rub. I mean it: one belly rub and I'll be your best friend. When you're not rubbing my belly I'd be happy to go on short walks. We need to walk a little slow though because I have very short legs. But walking would definitely be good for me since I'm trying to lose weight, for sure I need a diet and a supportive friend to help me through it. Belly rubs will also help. I wonder if maybe you could teach me how to swim? I like the water and it would be a good, safe exercise for me. As for indoor activities, I would thoroughly enjoy lying on your lap and following you around the house, just waiting for my next chance to be petted or receive a belly rub. I'm a really happy girl who loves attention and wants to connect and be all yours! Did I mention I love a belly rub? Seriously, I'm ready anytime!Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. Story
Foxy is a wonderful 6.5-year-old Corgi/Shiba Inu mix who is looking for her forever home. Weighing 39 pounds, Foxy is a beautiful and incredibly intelligent dog with a loving personality that shines once she builds trust. Foxy thrives on daily exercise, enjoying walks, playtime, and mental stimulation. She is house-trained and knows basic commands. Her favorite things include playing fetch, chewing on her toys, and relaxing with her licky pad. Foxy would do best in a calm, structured home with an owner experienced in handling reactive dogs. She can be wary of new people and other dogs, but with patience, consistency, and understanding, she quickly opens up to reveal her goofy and affectionate nature.
