A tiny, 15–20 pound short-stack (we’re guessing a dachshund mix) covered head to toe in bite wounds—likely the result of a brutal coyote attack. Cowboy had clearly fought with everything he had to survive. And somehow, even while in excruciating pain, he was still wagging his tail and giving kisses to the vet techs trying to save him. He had every reason to give up. But he didn’t. Thanks to the Good Samaritan who found him and the compassionate team who called us instead of giving up hope, Cowboy got his second chance. And boy, did he run with it. Today, Cowboy is fully healed and ready for his forever family. She was defintely in a home at some point. Her finder realized she was pregnant after a few weeks and she was transferred to our rescue. One week later, in the quiet of the night, Roxy delivered her 5 puppies all by herself. Niner, Raider, Commander, Charger, and Lion will be ready for adoption in early December.
