Story

retty little Gidget is a 5-year-old, 15 lb Chiweenie with a gentle spirit and the sweetest personality. She has a soft, shiny black coat with a touch of white on her chest and around her muzzle, and she’s the perfect combination of cuddly, playful and calm. Gidget was picked up as a stray and brought to the Riverside shelter, where she was absolutely terrified. She was so scared and shy that she wouldn’t approach anyone, and sadly, no one showed interest in her. When she was placed on the euthanasia list, we stepped in to save her. Once Gidget was given the time and space she needed to feel safe, her true personality began to shine. She now comes to her people for affection and loves being petted and held. Even when she was at her most frightened, Gidget never growled, showed her teeth or attempted to bite. Gidget is quiet, well-mannered, intelligent and incredibly loyal. She has a mellow, calming presence and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving little dog to share their life with. She also has a playful side and especially enjoys wrestling and playing with other small dogs. Because of her shy nature, Gidget will do best in a calm, secure home with someone who will give her a little time to settle in. Once she feels safe, she bonds deeply and has so much affection to give. Gidget is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and fully dog-door trained. She is currently in foster care in Hesperia, CA. Adoption fee: $300 To meet Gidget or request an adoption application, please email Alphadogpetrescue@yahoo.com.

Story

❤️ Meet Bodie, our sweet, sweet boy! 🐾Bodie is a lover, a cuddle bug, and happiest right next to his human. Whether snuggled on the couch or curled up in bed, he thrives on love and affection. His soulful eyes melt your heart! He’s approximately 4–5 years old; we adopted him 3 years ago, so we’re unsure of his exact age.Bodie is laid-back, doesn’t need long walks, and is a slow starter in the mornings. By 8 PM, he’s usually ready for bed—unless he’s too cozy on the couch and gets a little feisty about moving! Our kids adore him, making this heartbreaking decision even harder. Unfortunately, our son has developed allergies and has been suffering, so we need to find Bodie a loving new home.We want to be honest: Bodie marks his territory and pees inside the house. We’ve tried everything and had him checked by a vet, who found no medical issue. Adopters must be prepared for this ongoing challenge. We love him dearly and want a home that will cherish him, quirks and all. ❤️

Story

How this pet arrived: Koko was brought in by his previous owner on October 18, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Koko! Koko is a gentle, thoughtful pup whose sweet personality is starting to blossom a little more every day. He is a sensitive soul who can be quite shy when meeting new people, but with a little extra time and a lot of heart, his charm really begins to shine through. Once he feels safe and tucked under your wing, you'll start to see just how special and sweet this boy truly is. To help Koko feel his most confident, he is looking for a home with another friendly, confident dog of a similar size. Having a canine companion by his side helps him feel secure and gives him a wonderful "role model" to show him the ropes of everyday dog life. If you have a resident pup at home, we'll set up a meet-and-greet on-site to make sure they're going to be the best of friends! A quieter, "low-speed" household will suit Koko best. He thrives in a calm environment with a steady routine and not too much hustle and bustle. Because Koko is still building his confidence and isn't quite ready for leash walks yet, he'll need a home with a secure, private outdoor space where he can stretch his legs and feel safe. He has also proven to be a bit of a clever escape artist when he's feeling restless, so having a secure and predictable spot for him to relax will be key. If there are kids in your family, we find that a "vibe check" with children 12 and older works best to ensure everyone feels comfortable and happy. Building a bond with Koko is a rewarding journey that unfolds over time. He'll need a patient start with plenty of high-value treats and low-pressure interactions-letting him come to you on his own terms is the best way to earn his trust. If you are looking for a sensitive, special companion to grow with, Koko is ready to start his next chapter with you! At SDHS:Koko has been vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He is now ready for his new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: Koko requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Primary Color: White Weight: 10.25 Age: 5yrs 8mths 0wks

When i adopted her i was not aware of any of her medical history, Holly has really bad teeth decay on all of her teeth, and a little on the heavier side. She is in desperate need of an owner who can provide medical care for her. Holly would be much better in a family with no little kids or puppies, she spends most of her days sunbathing and sleeping.
