Story
This is Butter, he is an 11 year old Mini Cream Dachshund. He has so much love to give, but our home is no longer set up for what he needs. He grew up with another dachshund that passed away a few years ago. Since then, grandkids have entered the picture, and he is just nervous around them. Out of an abundance of caution, it breaks our hearts to have to consider rehoming him. But he is spending so much time in his crate, and he deserves all of the snuggles and outdoors time that he wants without fear of littles tugging on him.He is very energetic and loves apple slices. We've always fed him quality food, so he in great health. Our vet always comments on his perfect weight. He is due for this year's wellness shots and nail trimming. It will be done in the next week or two. He is house-trained and crate-trainedWe are hoping to find him a good, loving home, that can give him the time and attention he needs to feel safe. He would be great for a senior adult looking for a senior dog to love.

Story
Maroon was given to us to use by a family member who rescues dogs. He is currently 6 years old and will be 7 on October 11th. We are for someone who has experience training with dogs with behavioral issues. Maroon can be a bit nervous around strangers, but can become very friendly once he gets comfortable with someone. He loves to listen to calming music and lo-fi music. He really loves eating chicken, peanut butter, and bananas. He can sometimes be a bit of a picky eater and needs a food topper in order to eat the rest of his food.

EvieFemale Chiweenie DOB: 2/21/2022Adoption Fee: $200Cookie and Evie are sweet babies that will steal your heart and would love to make it home with you. These girls are quite shy and will take some time to open up but will be sweet love bugs once they feel comfortable. Cookie is still nervous on a leash and can be very scared of sudden movements. Evie will give you a stare to make it seem like she's feisty, but she is a little more outgoing. She will walk on leash with lots of encouragement. Cookie will open up more with time and will blossom into her silly personality. She and her sister are bashful, but with time and encouragement they will open up a lot more. These girls need someone who understands that they will need a little extra time getting used to their new people and surroundings. They will need someone who will go slow and will let them go at their own pace. These girls had a hard start, but once given the opportunity to flourish, they will be at their happiest! Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. We acquired him as a puppy and have had him for his entire life. 14 years old. We are looking for a loving, patient home where he can enjoy his senior years. He would do best with someone who understands the needs of an older dog and can give him plenty of attention, comfort, and a calm environment. Sweet, loving, friendly, gentle, affectionate, happy, loyal, and easygoing.
