Story
Our shy but sweet guy, Lindor, is ready to find his forever home! Lindor is a 2 year old chiweenie mix. He is still learning that humans can be trusted and he’s hoping to find a family willing to meet him where he is. He can be a bit nervous at first and may actively avoid or try to escape new people, but with patience and consistency, he’s already making progress. What we do know about him: Dog-friendly: he’s playful and even snuggly with other dogs  Learning leash skills and improving steadily Fully potty trained Like his brother Toblerone, he’ll need patient humans who understand that trust takes time. He won’t be immediately affectionate or cuddly with people, but once he feels safe, his personality continues to peek through more and more. Important notes:• He has not shown any human aggression• He has gotten protective of his crate a couple of times (once with another dog trying to steal his bone, and once when a puppy was overwhelming him), so respecting his space is key Ideal home:• Adults or older kids only (10+)• Another confident, friendly dog in the home• A fenced yard• People who are happy to go at his pace and celebrate small wins If you’re the kind of person who believes the most special bonds are the ones you earn slowly, this sweet boy could be your perfect match   ##2648266##

Story
I'm Sprout, and I am a snuggle bug, big fan of the stuffy toy fetch game, and a devoted fan of the show Slow Horses. I am 110% dachshund. I have it ALL -- everything you've heard about dachshunds? I've got it. Snuggly? Check. Food motivated? Yup. Nosy up in all your business? Oh yeah. Demanding of attention? See "nosy." Burrow under blankies? All the time. Funny? SO FUNNY. Sweet kisses? I got 'em. Prey drive? Oh yeah. Show me the squirrel. And if you have a shed, I will get under it to hunt. . I'm 9 pounds of love and pure nerve. I love my people and I love my doggie friends. I'm a big fan of the couch cuddle -- with both people and doggies -- and of the doggie wrestling. I LOVE playing fetch and I love hangout time. Adults and kiddos over 10 only please. I had a disc rupture (darn dachshund genes) but I walk almost normally now. I can run and play with a fun little wobble but I cannot do stairs. (I can climb a ramp.) I have pretty good control of my bladder but if you give me a little extra squeeze when we go outside (foster mom will teach you), I don't leak in the house unless I get too full. Expressing a dog is easy peasy and foster mom is an expert teacher. If you keep me on a schedule, I do just fine. I have done physical therapy to improve my core strength. PILATES, anyone? I sometimes do not realize I am pooping, but most of the time I do well. I am a delight to be around and a real charmer. When someone new comes to the house, I will bark, but as soon as they pay the "Sprout Tax" (treats), we can be besties and I will want to be in their lap. I am protective, like most dachshunds -- someone has to do it! If you are interested in adopting Sprout, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Sprout's adoption fee is $400. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Sprout will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
Midnight ended up at animal control after his owners abandoned him at a clinic. He was held for a while but with so many dogs he ended up on the euthanasia list. Can you imagine? This little guy is a very nice dog with a great temperament. He loves to hang with his people way more than the other dogs at his foster home so he could be an only dog or live with the other canines that have a chill temperament His foster family believe he is mixed with corgi or other herding breed because he has a habit of jumping and mouthing to get attention. Midnight is not really a vocal dog. But when he has something to say it is in a a "Big Dog" bark but the good news is he's not a huge barker unless he's excited about something. Midnight sleeps quietly in a crate like a gentleman. Midnight is completely potty trained. He no longer takes any medicine for anything but when he did he took it like a champ. He loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you to throw again. He loves to go for loooooooong leash walks. He needs a home with people that will dedicate time to his daily walks. This guy absolutely loves to explore the back yard and will definitely need a fenced yard. He is working on waiting but still is a BIG Door Darter. He is very excited to GO, GO, GOI! A home with adults and everyone over 16yrs is needed so he doesn’t sneak out past a kiddo. ✅ Sweet guy ✅ loves to walk & play with toys ✅ crate trained 🚫 door dasher so no young kiddos ✅ housetrained ✅ smart and eager to learn ✅ fenced yard If you are interested in adopting Midnight, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Midnight's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Story
Boscoe is new to DREAM only in his foster home a few days. Boscoe has a number of talents and his foster mom calls him a smart Houdini. He quickly figured out how to open pocket doors to get into another room. He will push doors open if they are not latched. He prefers to stay within sight of his person. He has started snuggling and we are sure he will pass the ultimate snuggles exam with flying colors. Boscoe is about 90% house trained especially when his cues are picked up and he’s let outside for a potty break. He definitely needs a secure fenced yard as he likes to explore and looks for ways to escape. He's not shown any signs of being a digger but he has shown tendencies to be a door darter. Boscoe is very athletic and can jump up on the couch. He's also showing some separation anxiety but getting better. He's good with dogs and people but much prefers his people over another dog. Boscoe does NOT like to be crated and will chew the metal on the crate as his anxiety escalates being in there. He's not suited for apartment living as he can be vocal-howling and barking, specifically if he isn’t feeling secure. He's getting better and his foster mom thinks he's just having a hard time adjusting to a new environment. Boscoe has not shown great interest in food or treats and has been a bit picky with both. This also may change as he settles into his foster home. If you are interested in adopting Boscoe, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Boscoe's adoption fee is $700. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds.
