Roux is a very sweet, goofy dog who needs someone who can take it slow with him. I think he is around 5 years old. We are fostering him from a bad situation, so he has a few behavior problems. He doesn’t like new people immediately, but warms up pretty quick with food. Once he gets to know you, he is the sweetest and most loyal dog.He loves any type of food so that will really warm him up to you quick. He doesn’t do well with other dogs, but he seems to love cats. I’m not sure how he is around children, but I think he’d like a quiet home. He likes to play sometimes, but is more than happy to just relax and sleep in a warm bed. He also loves to roll around in the sun. He is house trained, but has accidents occasionally. He pees when he gets excited, or even when you just pet him. He is not very well trained, but he is crate trained. He is walks on a leash, but pulls pretty bad. He is a pretty anxious dog, so he needs a gentle home.

Pepper has been with us for ~2 months after he was rescued wandering in a neighborhood and his owners could not be found. The vet estimates he is 3yrs old and he is crate trained. He is a sweet dog but not a good fit for our family. He is a very anxious little guy. He is scared by loud noises, rowdy kids, and being outside alone. He loves car rides, cuddles, and snuggling under a blanket. He is somewhat house trained, but is too anxious to do his business in our fenced back yard most of the time. He prefers to go to the bathroom when someone takes him to a small side or front yard. He is fine with older kids, but gets nippy with younger kids when they get excited. He’d do best in a house with adults that are home frequently and kids that are at least preteens.

He is still learning that humans can be trusted and he’s hoping to find a family willing to meet him where he is. He can be a bit nervous at first and may actively avoid or try to escape new people, but with patience and consistency, he’s already making progress. Got him as a puppy. He has been such an amazing dog. He absolutely loves cuddling and does not leave your side. He loves being loved. He walks great on a leash and loves to carry packages and mail back home. He is great with other dogs, at dog parks he’d rather be sitting next to you instead of playing with the rest of the dogs. We brought home our baby in August and he has been very protective of him but does not allow my husband, family, or friends around the baby. I hate to rehome him as I’ve had since he was a puppy but my husband is tired of being barked at every time he’s around the baby.

This beauty is Lucille! She ended up at the shelter as a lost girl on 1/27, and sadly, no one has come to reclaim her. Lucille is now keeping her paws crossed for a new, forever home where she will be loved and kept safe so that she never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe Lucille as sweet and easygoing. She is calm and quiet in her kennel, and she walks so nicely on leash. She also knows how to sit for treats. Lucille is approximately 4 years old, is a small-sized dog. She is UTD on vaccines, has been spayed, and will be microchipped upon adoption. Unfortunately, Lucille did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care she can go on to live and long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while she receives her treatment. Lucille is waiting patiently in kennel 311; her ID # is 16579. Midnight ended up at animal control after his owners abandoned him at a clinic. He was held for a while but with so many dogs he ended up on the euthanasia list. Can you imagine? This little guy is a very nice dog with a great temperament. He loves to hang with his people way more than the other dogs at his foster home. He appears to prefer the company of the females in the foster home pack. His foster family believe he is mixed with corgi or other herding breed because he has a habit of jumping and mouthing to get attention. Midnight is not rally a vocal dog. But when he has something to say it is in a a "Big Dog" bark but the good news is he's not a huge barker unless he's excited about something. Midnight sleeps quietly in a crate like a gentleman. Midnight is completely potty trained. He no longer takes any medicine for anything but when he did he took it like a champ. He loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you to throw again. He loves to go for loooooooong leash walks. He needs a home with people that will dedicate time to his daily walks. This guy absolutely loves to explore the back yard and will definitely need a fenced yard. He is working on waiting but still is a BIG Door Darter. He is very excited to GO, GO, GOI!
